  • sex and drugs and alcohol and rocknroll high times

  • What a privellage it was to be a teenager in the 70's.

  • Phillips cassette player in "Real Leather" case lol

  • Kind of reminds me of Procol Harum, for some reason.

  • Bloody hell , how quick we forget what good shit was around in that era .Beaut memories .

  • a bliss song from my childhood...thanx for uploading !.....what a build up song it still is !!!!

  • I remember after my brother gave me that Slade 8 track, later I just thought of Quiet Riot as a rip off band of Slade, but I did like AC/DC, because they had their own sound in that genre and their music was more polished, if you can call that kind of music polished. Another band that was kind unique, but close to that type was Twisted Sister, but I thought they were kind of freaks. A buddy of mine said he ended up in jail in California briefly and he said their lead singer was in there too.

  • 39 users a suck dick

  • thums up if you played this song on a mono phillips batt powered cassette player

  • @quantengott I was a teenage kid and had a black already beat up old 8 track my brother gave to me & I believe it was simply called, "Slade". It was a new rock sound to me and even though I was a pretty wild, that 8 track freaked me out, it had, "Come Feel the Noise", on it, then I never heard of them again & always wondered what happened to them. I believe they must have been the start of bands like AC/DC, Quiot Riot and any others with that sound if there were any.

  • @northernmanmn their big success was over by around 1976 but they still carried on (mostly trying to break the US) for a long time noddy holder was in fact offered the job as bonn scotts replacement in AC`DC.dave hill (gtr) and don powell (drms) still tour as `slade 2` .oasis cite them as as an influence.slade could certainly rock as hard as any band from their peak era they were never fahionable or intellectual but were always a `peoples` band.

  • @unclemort1960 No they were not like the airy fairy Beatles, but Noddy Holder and Jim Lea are equally intelligent, and also as talented as Lennon/McCartney. People are fooled by clownesque images and "simple" lyrics and think they were not vey smart. It s the (American) public who don t recognize real talent and musical ingenuity. Declining popularity doesn t mean anything. Even in the 80s they ranked among the very best evolving to completely other genres. Totally mispercepted.

  • @quantengott Even recorded it by holding a connected mic to the speaker...and everybody had to be quit & shut up!!...golden days!!

  • @quantengott No I couldn't ever afford a cassette player I heard it when it was belted out on the radio - when I could afford the batteries :):):)

  • Still being slayed 40 years later !

  • Noddy da Daddy - who da Daddy.

  • so underrated

  • @TheSnather No , I dont think so, Slade had their part of HUGE suxess back in the late 60''s the whole 70''s and early 80''s. Younger people simply dont hear about them. Only the ones who are realy intrested in Rock Music & its History. NowaDays most of the Kids get loaded with lots o'' crapp, forced in their head by Media.......

  • @Hanzey666 fair point, I suppose they were a wee bit before my time. I agree that the younger generations are being subjected to some pretty unprecedented amount of industry pushing, I know not all young kids are suckers for it but alot that i've chatted music with were surprisingly narrow minded about exploring. the thing about good music, even the new music that's good (its out there believe it or not) is that it stands the test of time. they will find it someday. i hope.

  • I was that soldier....yep ..before cassettes....taping Top of the pops......

  • @corporal0378 I remember the days ... recording TOTP with a portable recorder and cheap mic. Playing it back and having to endure the family budgie's contribution to My Friend Stan! I honestly wouldn't trade having been a teen in the 70s to be a kid today.

  • How come I've never heard of these guys before, they're great!

  • @spock686 My guess is, you are young. Enjoy

  • @blindpinkthunders Yeah,I'm young, but I still listen to mostly older stuff. Like Queen & the Beatles. & now Slade as well.

  • as a pop journalist I was friends with Slade´s manager Chas Chandler and his office; I was a vehicle for organizing their 1st Finnish concert in 1973, a sold-out Helsinki Messuhalli event;

Nice folk like most of the British top pop names at the time: like The Sweet, Mud, Bay City Rollers, Uriah Heep,....., I covered them all for Intro Magazine, and some other publications. Talking about niceness, ABBA, Barbi Benton, Creedence Clearwater Revival were tops with me

  • @1959oldies Good on ya. Hope Finnish fanny weren't cold. Chas had an eye for what's good. Ever saw his punks, the Depressions? Brighton holiday pirates, they could hold off the Clash w. basslines alone. All them bands was hard fun and cheerful. These days you expect the "talents" there for the rider not the show. I seen bands could barely stop and start, yet the rot they talk. Even a band for little girls like the Rollers could rock badgers over today's mincers.

  • Love the song, hate the clip. The action is too fast for the tempo. And the bass-player looks like a chav.

  • its a 70s classic underground cult 70s classic rock cult ooo its true

  • Cant Stop Rockin' This Track!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @danieldumile you must be Noddys secret love child rotflmfao :)))))))))) he's only after some maintenance

  • lol i'd like that poster without the eyes on the butt.

  • Great song!

  • 39 twats!

  • I wonder if Don Powell felt left out when they filmed the final part of this...

  • Slade was BRILLIANT, one of the most underated Rock Bands ever, Fuck Quiet Riot and their Wimpy Remake....

  • Please do one more gig together.

  • Hyvä Slade!

  • Slade's the best, fuck the rest !!

  • I love this period in Slade's progress. Fantastic stomping "A" sides with more jazzy bluesy "B" sides, a music lovers delight. Keep Feel ing The Noize.

  • Slade were all about the riff and the song which they did so well. The craze during the early 70's emphasized long and mostly boring instrumental solos, especially in the States. Slade never had a chance.

  • Man, was that dancefloor hot!!

  • YES YES YES.......SLADE FOREVER.......Noddy Holder cry again and louder.

GET DOWN AND GET WITH IT :)

  • 10 years old when this came out & still love it.

  • Who's the broad at 0:01?

  • Me? Listen to music created before 2pac's time? Hell no... Until i found this song, holy shit this is some really good shit.. Wtf happend to music? Technology moving forward, music moving down the hill.. I wish i had the chance to live during theese times, imagine the feeling folks, going to a live concert and listening to this song...

  • Aw, fuck, Daniel-Dip-Shit is on this video too. Thats too much.

  • @LanceMaxx I GO HARD FOR THE ONE MAN TEAM.

  • @thebanginman1 Yeah!!! I will send Daniel a "friend invite" he s a bit chlidish and ignorant you know, but I am giving him some "education".

But did Slade made that many songs? Really I can t exhaust these guys for truly great tunes and the diversity in genres, that is even more amazing!!! One of the most exciting and most talented rock groups ever! Grossly underrated though. Ozzy called Noddy s voice the greatest rockvoice ever! Agreed here!

  • " JUST A GREAT BAND!!! (thanks for the memories!!! )

Slade ...

  • slade, T rex, mott the hoople, .......love those english glam rock bands......

  • Slade was awesome, but they set the English language back 100 years. ;)

  • @TarkusLV No, actually they were 40 years ahead of their time, see how relevant their phonetic spelling is these days is with the development of internet!!!

  • he looks like willy wonka

  • This track is superb, thanks for uploading it.

  • Really creative in a restrained way. Drummer is very disciplined. Not playing a bunch of unnecessary fills. Impressive.

  • i'm 15 to, shut the fuck up and stop whining go make a band pussies

  • top notch

  • I first heard this song about 40 years ago!! Seems like yesterday

  • One of the most under-rated rock bands of all times!! these boys could really do it, only saw them once, but was the most awsome gigs i've been to

  • Little hobits :D

  • I heard this song for first time from Radio Luxemburg! - 40 years ago, and that was it, II was in love with this music. What a feeling, energy, surely not for pussies. When do we get bands like this again? Belated Happy Birthday, Noddy, from me too. Look wot u dun, one of the most powerfull rock songs, ever. No one can sing like that!

  • A major influence on huge rock bands of the 70's. Gene Simmons acknowledges he borrowed from their song writing style.

  • @brodie60 Slade should have just kept this style and rock on for ever. I really like the powerfull aggression of this song. Everything is put so well together - awesome singing, couln't be any better - and the whole band so well together, nasty short metallic guitar licks and beautiful base and drums stuff! Perfect!

  • @AndyMayBee NOT agreed, their diversification in styles and sound and their evolving continuously during their entire careers showed that their music had so much depth that they could re-edit for instance My o My in different genres, a pop, a gospel version and a jazz version. They engineered a totally unique sound on their last 3 albums. Pure genius. Slade are one of the most versatile music acts in the history of pop, strangely enough they never gor recognized for this obviously simple fact.

  • Belated Happy Birthday, Noddy. Heard some Slade songs on local radio recently and was looking on u tube. Didn't know it was Noddy H's birthday in June until seeing comments here. Great sound, sounds as if recorded last week!!

  • Knowing.

Knowing yourself, what you do ,and what that does to others: THE start of life.

Al lthe rest is badly "Doing stuff eyes closed for yur money and bad future or the licking of ass your boss likes over too much!"

Be real -and just really just-real or don't be HERE!

    Bernard

  • Wechingen rockt!

    Classic Rock night:

    Slade, Sweet und Flash Live!

Am 16.7.2011 in Wechingen in Bayern.

  • 40 years on and still unbeatable ! Trying to dance to this after 8 pints of Banks"s was always tricky. Wolves boy x

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY NODDY!!!

  • Happy Birthday Nod.

  • They were a great band, looking back now it seems we were totally spoilt in the 70s - SLADE, T-REX, STATUS QUO, DAVID BOWIE, and plenty more. They were great days, somebody find me a time machine please. Oh, I suppose youtube is exactly that.....

  • slade the mest simply

  • Slade are so fucking awsome. Wolverhamptons finest!

  • Campino hat mal gesagt:

Ohne Slade hätte es keinen Punk gegeben.

    In diesem Sinne:

    Eine große Band.

  • this song is one that i had forgotten from back in my childhood (i was in third grade in 1971)- it is so good that i had my 15-year-old musician daughter listen to it, and she liked it as well. i agree with all who say slade was very underrated -- a truly gifted band that could get down with the best of them !

  • Still looks so modern

  • I reckon Noddy,s the most under-rated hard rock vocalist in history. He never figures in those stupid polls but watch "Get down and get with it" PURE BALLS !

  • @TheKookabear I would have to agree. Looks mean everything I guess.

  • seen this band 6 times thank god nice

  • Always thought they were the poor man's Beatles, but I liked this song. Sounds a bit "thin" now.

  • @hearditman What is "poor man s Beatles"? I think Jim and Nod are in the same category as John and Paul in the way of songriting.....except Slade came later and were misconcepted by their clownesque image and did not get the media attention and egards that others received, but Slade deserved as much or more than Zep, Queen etc. Ridiculously underrated.

  • @proslade I agree so very much

  • the dogs bowlocks this tune. slade knocked out rock tunes like basturts

    gawd bless em

  • Anyone remember when they were skinheads doing gigs in the pubs in England? thx for putting this up Yob....

  • Anyone remember when they were skinheads doing gigs in the pubs in England?

  • Noddy reminds me of Willy Wonka in some of his vids.

  • @TheAverageCanadian

:) I think Nod was the original, but good call.

  • luv it

  • 34 dislikes don' t know what's our freedom means to usღღღღღ

  • Slade superbe chanson.

  • June 11th 2011 they (slade 2) play live in hamminkeln, germany. (jokerfest)

  • does someone know their names?

  • @martzafoi90

    Noddy holder - vocals/guitar; Dave Hill - guitar; Jimmy Lea - Bass/piano & Don Powell - Drums

  • Yep.

  • Hope Jenn likes this. I have the same coat as the keyboard player.

  • My path to rock music started with Glam Rock. My father used to listen to this kind of music when I was a child. LOUD! Since then, it got to me. Slade was one of the first Rock bands I listen'd to. Awesome memories, awesome to listen to them now! :>

  • @KrelinLV You are not the only same story to me and i am 14 :D

  • I was born in 1996 and still think these fellas are legends :D

  • looking back now,,,,, Noddy was so cool.

  • i. love. slade.

  • I´ll see them live on june 11th 2011 @ Jokerfest Germany.

Lets see if Slade II can still do it right :)

  • what a voice

  • Comment removed

  • you need to have been born in the fifties to have seen them at their peak

  • good rythem

  • I was born in the wrong decade, I wish i was born in the 60s-70s so i could see them in their peak.

  • @Dzoubs You had to be born in the 50's early 60's! We had the best and knew it! Even local bands tore it up! Heard of Farm from Illinois?

  • Lets make some noise ;-)....

  • Oh to see The Mighty Slade perform like this again.......this got me into Slade and here I am forty years later loving them just as much, maybe even more.

Long live The Mighty, Mighty, Mighty Slade!!

  • @bigmagic96 like you this was the beginning of a rock journey, and im still on it,,rock on bigmagic96, mightier than the world of rock itself,,

  • @robharding1957 Regards to Rockin' Rob Harding from Bigmagic.

  • @bigmagic96 yeah you toobigmagic96,some band eh,,all the best,,rob,

  • Apparently, their manager was that of Jimi Hendrix (former Animals bassist Chas Chandler).

  • I like this guys voice. I think he sounds a little like the lead singer from Styx, or Robert Plant from Zeppelin.

  • Great audio on this upload, put on your headphones! Thanks!

  • SLADE RILES FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Without these guys, No Kiss, No Cheap Trick, No hits for Quire Riot!

  • @Triumphrob No KISS you have to be kidding! KISS are original and the greatest of all time. Quiet Riot yes. P.S. Im watching this because Slade are great.

  • @hippyhil Read Kiss Bio, its a fact!

  • @hippyhil

Are you Kidding?!? Kiss are immensely indebted to Slade. As are all glam bands that started out in the mid 70s and early 80s. Slade were just THAT influential. Kiss just took Slade and T-rex and and few others and added make-up and Voila!

  • @Triumphrob I agree, and look at Roy Wood and Wizzard, they were there before Kiss Gene Simmons, Ace etc

  • Look at the video stats...apparently the Russians like this song?

  • @groundedsax vlad be coz it's wot you be seyin to somebody who just impaled yer
