  • Well, I know you can't please everyone, because 40 is a little limited, but no Susan Hayward?

  • Interestingly, Bollywood has its own equivalent and India has produced some of the most beautiful women. Try a Youtube search on:

Sharmilla Tagore: Kora Kagaz Tha - Rajesh Khanna & Sharmila Tagore

Rekha: Tere Bina Jiya Jayena - Rekha

    Nargis: O Janewale - Nargis

Hema Malini: Kishore Kumar - Feroz Khan & Hema Malini

Shabana Azmi: Bharle Tumhen Bahon - Farooq Sheikh - Shabana Azmi

It is Hema Malini who is the most Western. You could drop her straight into any American film.

  • Well done! Grace has always been at the top of my list, but Natalie and Claudia used to melt me when I was a young 'un. Great effort in etting all the clips. It's was fun to see if I could remember the films while watching the ladies roll past

  • Very nicely done, thanks. I see some have moved dramatically down the ranks from the 20 version eg Marlene Dietrich. I was pleased to see Mitzi Gaynor come in; not technically the most beautiful but such a bundle of bliss. Interesting to see the Italians well represented. Reminds me of a list I saw of the countries producing the most beautiful women in the world (in order): 1. Italy 2. Sweden 3. Venezuela 4. Brazil 5. Spain 6. Argentina 7. Russia 8. Czech Republic 9. Morocco 10. United States

  • What about Joan Leslie?

  • all of them are beautiful except dorothy

  • amazing

  • Say what you want about Veronica Lake's acting... but she should be top ten. top five, probably.

  • Joan Crawford <3

  • It's nice to see Mitzi and Kim included, they're both beautiful and often overlooked.

Betty Grable, Frances Farmer, Leila Hyams and June Haver were also gorgeous.

  • Great video; thanks. It's impossible to include all the beautiful actresses and we all have our favorites. My list would have included Deborah Kerr, Myrna Loy, Irene Dunne, and Greer Garson. And Ingrid would have been in the top five!

  • An excellent selection of beautiful, unforgettable movies (thanx for inserting "Carmen Jones"). All the stars are very beautiful and charming. The only thing I did not like is the choice of the music: "Lawrence of Arabia" is a male story, and the date is 1962.

  • Ingrid forever...

  • what about Romy Schneider? She was 15 when she started in the 50's!

  • Nicely done. The only one I would add to that is Louise Brooks.

  • definitely also Linda Darnell and maybe also Joan Bennett ...Bette Davis?

  • I know everyone has there own opinion on beauty, but I definitely think Deborah Kerr should have been on there somewhere! She is so beautiful! I think she is very underrated because her beauty is not striking, but she is so simply, innocently, beautiful!

  • Let me throw my 2 cents in. How bout ANN SHERIDAN?..... You know.....The Oomph Girl!

  • greer garson!!

  • Two things I love about these women are:

    1) They aren't whores, and don't look like they are always wanting to have sex (Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, etc)

    2) They look unique. They don't look like the average girl.

  • I understand the subjectivity. But Joan Crawford over Myrna Loy or Debra Kerr? Must be a guy thing. I'm not trying to be nasty as the videos are wonderful. But Joan over Myrna? Debra? Classic beauty? OMGoodness!

  • Descending the ladder of beauty, I have the top rung belonging to Audrey Hepburn (no. 13), then Vivien Leigh (no. 1), and then Elizabeth Taylor (no. 2). But I know there are 1000s of ladders out there. :)

  • These are individual choices each of us have our idea who belongs in this list...if i made one, Hedy Lamarr would be numero uno...after all , during that period she was the only one that was given the title of the most beautiful woman not only of the movies, but of the century...Even Lana Turner said so.

  • you just do not get women like THAT anymore!

  • Can't believe you forgot Linda Darnell..

  • @98AncientGoddess98 I did not forget her, but I don't have any of her films, therefore I can't include her in the video. If I had even 1 of her films, she would have been in here.

  • Por favor no veo a la Sueca GRETA GARBO, bellisima. Alcira, Canada.

  • I so love this video.. and thumbs up.. Vivian Leigh No 1!!! Yessssss.. ♥

  • Hei Sookie0 ,why don't you wipe the floor with all the girls on this list? With the exception of Ms. Gina Lollobrigida.Too beautyfuul ,too kind, too talentfull for your dirty floor.

  • @iliyanmk Yeh I don't know what this means and I still stick by my earlier comments.

  • You should do the same thing with the handsomest men pre 60s :)

Add 20 more cause I know you got good taste lol :D

  • marlene dietrich deserves better than #33!

I thought that at least here I'd find joan fontaine...

  • I find Lauren Bacall, Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth lovely but my all-time favorite is Mrs Sophia Loren. By the way, I was hoping to see Silvana Mangano here. She was gorgeous! Thanks for posting this great video!

  • Uh, excuse me but where is Deborah Kerr in the list? She played the romantic lead actress in blockbuster films with Cary Grant and Burt Lancaster among others. In her prime she was better looking than at least 10 in this list.

  • @Bliggick I am fully aware of who Deborah Kerr is, and although she was attractive, for me she was not a beauty. Sorry I didn't include her.

  • What about Jeanne Crain(definately more attactive than Sophia Loren IMHO) and the Queen of The Movies, Myrna Loy. Maureen O'Hara deserves the Top Fifteen at least. You look at her in "The Quiet Man" and you just fall in love with her.

  • Comment removed

  • I too don't understand this obsession with Vivian Leigh. She's beautiful of course, they all are, but the most beautiful? I think not. Elizabeth is endlessly more beautiful than she and Ms. Lollobrigida could wipe the floor with most of the girls on that list with the exception of Ms. Gardner, Ms. O'Hara and Ms. Russell who stand out only because, other than their looks, they give the vibe of being women unlike the others who come across more as sweet little girls. And where is Barbara Stanwyck?

  • @SookieO Vivien Leigh (her name is spelled with an e) is exquisite. The most beautiful for sure in my opinion. Her smile was so unique, her brows, her eyes large and blue/green, her luscious hair dark and wavy and her skin like porcelain. Most of all, her expressiveness, and the vulnerability in her face put her on top. I think she and Liz are very close but she is a bit more ethereal and has the long graceful limbs.

I've seen GWTW at the theater 6 times- that is where it really shows.

  • @beckylink Sorry Becky but it's precisely her weird, clipped smile that puts me off of her and personally, I don't think it's healthy to put any human being, no matter who they are, on a pedestal like you're doing. It's creepy and strange and you're taking this way too seriously and the woman is dead, let it go.

  • @SookieO I didn't attack you personally - what is your problem? I was simply agreeing with MonroeSmile's choices of numbers 2 and 1. I don't appreciate being called creepy and weird; you do not know me. You seem to have a need to come here and be negative.

  • @beckylink I wasn't personally attacking you, I'm sorry I offended you, I was just honestly replying to your comment.

  • @beckylink I wasn't personally attacking you at all, I just meant that in general it is not healthy to place someone on a pedestal, I didn't mean it offensively, I was merely being honest.

  • @SookieO Well I will take you at your word, but I'd appreciate it if you use words more carefully. You said "creepy and strange". I just happen to be passionate about Vivien Leigh, as are many of her fans. She was far from perfect and is not on a pedestal for me. I too was just being honest that I think she is that beautiful. You are here discussing who is and isn't, so obviously you are invested to a degree as well. :) Thank you for clarifying though.

  • @beckylink Well, that's fair enough lol.

  • Ava.

God has yet to make another human being with a face that beautiful!

  • how about the 40 most beautiful actresses post 1960's?

  • terrific, only missing Judy Garland and Betty Davis :)

  • I think the video is beautiful. I would never add one of these ladies to take away from the other. Rita, my fave, had a girl-next-door earthiness (rare), Vivian and Elizabeth were both beautiful in face although Vivian was longer in limb so she would be my personal preference in terms of empirical beauty. What bothers me is when we pick apart the most physically beautiful of women as if they were lab mice. Women themselves are guilty of this. Please make more. I have the guy version too:)

  • Can't stop watching this video! So many beautiful women! They're breathtaking!

  • Normally, there is no point debating such lists as everyone has their opinions and criteria. In this case, I have to comment as the idea of having Vivian Leigh at the top totally baffles me. I cannot in all honesty see her anywhere in the top 60 or maybe even top 100. The rest of the list is definitely understandable other than Katherine Hepburn who acted well but was NOT especially beautiful.

  • @somewhere6 It's amazing how different people's opinions are. I thought everyone would have been blown away by Leigh, but clearly not! Thanks for watching.

  • @MonroeSmile LOL. I think Hedy Lamarr and Ava Gardner were more stunning. Much more. But really, this generation of actresses was so stunning that any choice is worthy I guess.

  • @somewhere6 You must be blind! Are you watching the same thing as other people? You do not think Vivien Leigh belongs in the top SIXTY???!!! She is absolute perfection. Everyone who knew her said the same thing - that she was the most beautiful woman they had ever seen. Even other actresses of beauty like Deborah Kerr said this, and more! Wow.

  • @beckylink well, beauty is subjective. You don't have to call anyone blind. :) I think she was pretty, but not so much better than anyone else at her time. There is nothing we can say to change the other's mind. :)))

  • @Rosannasfriend To say that Vivien doesn't even belong in the top 60 or maybe 100(!) is what led me to say that. If I offended anybody I certainly didn't mean to. Of course beauty is subjective, but Vivien was considered a great beauty by all who knew her. Even Elizabeth Taylor's mother was trying to get her cast as Scarlett's daughter in GWTW, and was extremely proud that people often pointed out a strong resemblance to Vivien. This was, to her, a feather in her cap! :)

  • Great list...where would you rank Linda Darnell? I love these ladies and their timeless beauty. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Janisrules If I had a Linda Darnell film I would have included her at least in the top 20, possibly at no.18/19. Thanks for watching.

  • interesting that in your top 20, you had Liz Taylor as #1, and in your top 40, you have Vivien Leigh. Why the switch?

  • @Rosannasfriend Honestly, some days I feel like Gene is the most beautiful, others Liz, my mind is always changing. But I've never been more amazed at a woman's beauty than I was when I watched Vivien Leigh in her films. Her face is strikingly beautiful. But then again, everyone has their own opinion on who or what is beautiful. But for me, Vivien tops them all.

  • @MonroeSmile honest enough. :))))

  • @MonroeSmile I couldn't agree more... I used to think Liz was definitely the most beautiful or maybe Ava Gardner but if you watch Vivien in motion, with all her mannerisms and expressions (PLUS incredible natural features and beauty, as from another world), she is just the most ethereally beautiful creature I have ever seen.

I feel that way about Montgomery Clift too.. but Errol Flynn comes close, in a different, exuberant way. Monty is more ethereal and inward.

  • I think many of theese don t stand a chance versus Bete Davies

  • Oh I forgot to add that I believe Joan Fontaine is more beautiful than her sister Olivia de Havilland.

  • While watching the video I automatically thought Elizabeth Taylor would be number one. But I do agree that Vivien Leigh is just as beautiful. Many beautiful women on the list. It is impossible for all of us to agree the order. Nice video!

  • Did I miss seeing Linda Darnell?

  • Love the video. I wish you had the list written down in the info. Do you have it handy? Could you paste it in there?

  • @Ardsgaine They are at the bottom of the info box now. Thanks for your kind comments. Merry Christmas x

  • @MonroeSmile Thank you!! Hope you're having a great holiday season!! :)

  • Thank you for including Jean Simmons; in addition to being stunningly beautiful she was a wonderful actress. Sad that she's so under appreciated. Overall I can't argue with your list, even though I would have ordered some differently. great job and thanks for posting!

  • Every woman here is beautiful in her own way, so who could actually name the number one beauty, but if I had my choice it would have been Elizabeth Taylor.

  • i was gonna ask about norma shearer but i see u mentioned her already. sophia loren had gorgeous eyebrows and lips. ive never heard of brigitte bardot but she almost made me yell out loud. rita hayworth was beautiful and i was hoping to see merle oberon on this list but didnt but every woman on here was angelic and beautiful.

  • joan bennett, jeanne crain, norma shearer

  • And Myrna Loy. Oh my goodness. She'd be way at the top of my list.

  • Beautifully done. Can't argue content. I'm sure many disagree on order. Please list alphabetically in the future, or by birthdate so as to eliminate too much subjectivity. BTW, I don't feel the list is complete without Jennifer Jones, Lucille Ball and Deborah Kerr:)

  • why claudia cardinale? in fact, she wasn't even pre 1960.

  • @issurchaim Every woman in this list was in films during the 1950s, even if it was just a movie debut. Cardinale had made eight movies by 1960, and therefore I put her in the list. Check imdb if you don't believe me. Plus she is outstandingly beautiful in my opinion. I'm not bothered by your comment on why her beauty is in the list, but questioning the date? I advise you get your facts straight in future.

  • I don't entirely agree with the ranking of these wonderful ladies,

but that doesn't matter. It's your list, for God's sake.

This is a brilliant collage of 40 beautiful, stylish and classy women

from a bygone era. Thank you very much!

  • @fingal61

...and I'm not sure if the extremely cute Claudia Cardinal qualifies as a pre-60's actress.

Although she did some small roles in 58 -59, she didn't break through until the 60's.

Forgive me for being such a prig. : )

  • All of them are very beautyfull, but Gina Lollobrigida is something special,an unrepeatable woman full of talents.

  • Where are Jane Wyman, Norma Shearer and Moira Shearer, among others?

  • Where is Deborah Kerr here, when she should be among the 5 most beautiful actresses in the world, according to me ?

  • Vivien Leigh no 1 of course! Unquestionable! thank you for this tribute and the Laurence of Arabia soundtrack, amazing!!!

  • Ava Gardner reminds me so much of Monica Bellucci <3

  • Nice list and nice tribute! I do agree with your number one: Vivien is the epitome of feminity. And I also agree with number 2 an 3 Elizabeth and Gene. Love to see Natalie and Jean Simmons on the list. Vivien, Elizabeth and Jean, three Brittish beauties.Black -haired, blue- eyed and petite women.

  • How can you have Lauren Bacall so far down below. She should definitely be close to top 10.. And while i agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder sometimes there comes one with a universal beauty. Ava Gardner should top any list of Hollywood's most beautiful. Past Present and Future....

  • Eva Gardner should top this list for sure!

  • I agree about Vivien. Some of the others, like for instance Gene has flawless faces. Flawless, but a bit boring? What sets Vivien above the rest, is the light that shines from her cat-like eyes, and that porcelain-doll like smile. Not only is she beautiful, shes's interesting and mysterious. You can't really tell if she's a good girl or a bad girl... Maybe a bit of both?

  • @GlamourHollywood ~EXACTLY! you hit the nail on the head! ;) I love the raised eyebrow... her brows were beautiful but a bit naughty at times. Her smile can be very innocent and sweet, yet devious. Her beauty is both simple and pure and complex at the same time. I think you're right - she's both. She was bipolar, so...

  • #6) Tandelayo make tiffin for you?

  • For me,Gene Eliza Tierney should be removed from any list and be deemed

untouchable. Then I could get down to the business of selecting a

    number one from the rest.

  • Great list and lovely to watch. My own list would have included Merle Oberon and Dolores del Rio.

  • Joan Crawford looked like a drag queen. She shouldn't even be on here.

  • @raspberrymaven Later on, she did, true, but when she was young she was actually very beautiful.

  • Great list,but,

    Gene Tierney is number one.

All the others tied for second place.

  • Enjoyed watching; you did a nice job with this. My only surprise is the absence of Linda Darnell and Lucille Ball. Nevertheless, nice work! Do I wait for a Top-60?

  • @jimincal I hadn't thought of doing a Top 60, but it's a possibility. If I did make one however, it would not be for another year or so. Thanks for watching.

  • lol, u switched up numbers 2 and 1. Can't decide, eh? But Marlyn number 22?

  • @MonroeSmile, Do you know what movie Lana Turner is in at 10:27-10:29?

  • @barbie11ification There are 3 films in that time space, Ziegfeld Girls, The Three Musketeers, Ziegfeld Girls again, then The Postman Always Rings Twice.

  • loool i like this list but vivien isnt more beautiful than gene! she's not even more beautiful as Hedy/ bette shoulda been included. her eyes alone are magnificent. gene should be number 1. good job tho.

  • I was surprised to see Dorothy Dandrige and Lena Horne. Thanks for that. Also thanks for including Gina Rogers, but why the snub on Betty Davis, Greer Garson and Joan Fontane. But all in all, a big thumbs up and great job again. Thanks for posting. Appreciate you hard work.

  • I can't imagine undertaking such a task - so many lovely actresses. I was getting worried that you had left Elizabeth Taylor off the list! Fantastic job!

  • Great list,,, yevonee de carlo,,, so , so , beautiful. I would have moved her in top 10, i think but thats just me. Great job, none the less.

  • i agree,, all are so beautiful in their own unique and special way but Vivien Leigh is numero uno in my book..... more so than the taylor, gardner and lamarr and they don't get much better than that. Loren and Tierney blow me as well. Garbo too !!!

  • I miss Myrna Loy and Gloria Swanson

  • Where is Lucille ball?!

  • Could you please tell me which movies you used for Katharine, Ingrid, Jane Greer, Yvonne, Greta, Maureen, and the very first clip of Kim Novak? Thank you! And also, where did you get the photos?

  • @ValentineKills Katharine Hepburn in Woman of the Year, Ingrid in Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde and Casablanca, Jane Greer in Out of the Past, Yvonne de Carlo in The Ten Commandments, Greta Garbo in Flesh and the Devil, Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man, and the first clip of Kim Novak is from Picnic. The photos were just from google images. Thank you for watching.

  • @MonroeSmile Thank you very much for the quick response! Your video is lovely. I don't agree with some of your choices and placements, but at least we all love the movies! :D

  • Although I don't necessarily agree with your list, I love it!! Thanks especially for including beauties that don't get mentioned as often.

  • Elizabeth Taylor and #2 don't go together.

  • la unica que esta en el lugar correcto es vivien leigh, lo demas le haria unos cambios, muy lindo video :)

  • Taylor and Leigh in 2nd and first place? Did you see the eyebrows of Taylor? Come on.The most beautiful actresses are Grace kelly, sofia loren, audrey hepburn, ava gardner, rita hayworth and kim novak.Taylor and Leigh are far away behind. However, stunning tribute

  • lucille ball?

  • diana dors, jayne mansfield, mamie van doren?

  • The fact that you put Leigh as number one makes me so extremely happy. As her and Liz Taylor are so hard to choose from, I usually see Vivien put right behind her, where I agree with you- she belongs right up in front!

  • My local cable company does not include Turner Classic Movies in any affordable package, so these videos are quite educatonal to me.

One night, I came across "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" from 1941, with Tracy, Turner, and Bergman. Lana Turner is very beautiful as the Doctor's fiance. But as soon as Ms. Bergman appears on the screen, I become totally smitten. I forget poor Lana and would have tossed her out! This is so interesting to me -- this sex appeal thing. Thanks to MonroeSmiles.

  • Still a definitive list Claudia!!! :)

  • What about Joan Fontaine?

  • 10 Stars Baby:D

  • CON'T...

Grace Kelly (#15), Top 10 contender in my book.

Rita Hayworth (#7), she would be #1 on my list!

    Taylor at #2.......good job.

Thanks again for making the video, I enjoyed it a ton.

  • Dear MonroeSmile -

Thank you for taking the time and energy to make this video. My criticism is as follows:

Highly disappointed to see Jane Russell (#38) in that placement. I feel that she deserved to be in the high teens or better.

I feel that Gale Robbins (#30), should have been much lower (as in lower number) down in the ranking.

Maureen O'Hara (#28) is most definitely Top 10 material.

Kim Novak (#23), teens or better.

Would have put Natalie Wood (#19) somewhere in the 30's.

    CON'T:

  • Guys, don't complain. This is MonroeSmile's list, it's her choice and we should be grateful that she makes really great movies with a good taste and beautiful music (and about true actors, hah). I'm delighted ♥

  • superab piece of artistic video.mindblowing music and footages.there is no need to number1to 40.all these ageless angels fall only in three catageries.or platinum, goldand silver.in my view platinum catagery monroe, liz taylor, grace kelly, gold catagery ingrid bergman, ava gardener, audrey heapburn sophie lauren, vivian leighand rest are silverclass.we salute them .but monroe is best dilipdilip deshpande from india

  • Comment removed

  • Joan Fontaine ! Olivia De Havilland's younger sister! Take a look at Hitchcock's Rebecca! Joan was a very pretty woman and good actress. So many beauties back then! Paulette Goddard, Donna Reed, Rhonda Fleming, Arlene Dahl, Ann Blyth, Lizabeth Scott, Kathryn Grayson, Carol Lynley, Sandra Dee, Doris Day, Dorothy McGuire, Deborah Kerr, Gale Russell, Joan Bennett, Lucille Ball, Carroll Baker, Millie Perkins, Yvette Mimeaux, Delores

Hart, Susan Hayward, Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, Jean Peters!

  • great vid and with brigitte bardot,u did an amazing job ...again

  • Comment removed

  • Where is Paulette Goddard?

    She is pretty!!!

  • The beauty is relative, they say. The face of each part can be perfect, and yet we can not find very nice, if there is no radiation. And vice versa. Here, not everyone would have been the place (without name), plus some people left out (B. Stanwyck, A. Ekberg, N. Talmadge, S. Hayward, etc.). And then 'The Face' of the century is only the 9th! I'm sorry, so I must say that this is not a perfect selection. Nay. This is far from it.

  • @TheDzs1 I do wish I had put Garbo above Turner. Susan Hayward was pretty but plain. Stanwyck was pretty but not a beauty. And Anita Ekberg was not beautiful in my eyes, only sexy. I never claimed this was a 'perfect selection', it was a mixture of my opinion and others comments on my previous video: a very general but not perfect list.

  • @MonroeSmile This surprises me: Ekberg is sexy, but Monroe is beautiful. Honestly: M.M. is a sex symbol, but not beauty, not at all. Then you do not like L. Brooks, T. Bankhead, D.d.Rio, Zs.Gabor, etc. It does not matter. (You did not cut in about Garbo from her talky movies, in the Camille she was so beautiful!) You're right. This is mainly your opinion and sorting. There's no arguing what. "De gustibus non est disputandum. " Claudia thank you for your nice clip and your answer as well. Susan

  • @TheDzs1 Ekberg was gorgeous, but I found her appearance a bit harsh in my eyes, whereas Marilyn could do both sexy, and beautiful. Her photos where she isn't all glammed up- she is stunning. But I think we shall just have to agree to disagree :) Best wishes and thank you for watching, Claudia xxx

  • @TheDzs1 I know you were talking to Claudia, but I have to say 'Camille' is not the best example of Greta's beauty, though it is a great film she is not presented as good as she could have been. I agree she should be above Turner though.

  • @ZZTopRockman The problem is with me, because I think GG is above everyone. Otherwise, GG was seriously ill before and during filming 'Camille'. This might seem.

  • @TheDzs1 That probably explains Camille, thank you! I think Greta was stunning too, especially in her silents. She has a really memorable and unique face, and is of course a brilliant actress

  • till no Joan Blondell :( I know you can't get everyone in there though!

And I didn't think they were ranking them, persay, it kinda seemed like a "in no particular order" kind of thing to me, especially since in their "20 most beautiful" video everyone was in a different place than they are in this video.

  • WOW ! great job monroe smile even better then your 1st list , looks like nobody can move the top 3 ( which i can understand , they are breathtakingly beautiful ) but i was overjoyed to see you have my all time favorite screen beauty NATHLIE WOOD .

  • excelente trabajo....

  • Audrey Hepburn should surely be higher on the list!

  • Ottimo davvero...!!

  • And Bette Davis?

  • @cross7THHOUSE Bette was beautiful in her own way, but not what I would define a beauty. That's my opinion anway :/

  • What a Beautiful tribute to these Beautiful, Lovely, Talented actresses!!

  • By writing this I'm on the 36th place... Lauren Bacall as 37th!!! U gotta be out of ur skull: that woman is the epitome of cinematic beauty. Anyway, so far I see that u put 20 new entries to complete your top 40, but those who place from 11 to 20 on the previous rank are now pushed to the 30-40 placements. How can it be explained?

  • @snowballwannabe When I made my first video I didn't know as many actresses. Over the past two years I found out new actresses, and due to comments on my old video, i took viewers opinions into account. Some people didn't agree that I put Bacall, Dietrich in a top 20. I tried my best to mix my own opinion with a more general opinion after analysing comments on my last video. Thanks for watching.

  • I wouldn't worry about it. Every man or woman has their most beautiful actress in their head. You can't please everyone.

  • No Way is VIVIEN LEIGH No 1. Liz is No 1 in my heart

  • Lauren Bacall is top 10 but i like the video

  • a very good job on this!

  • They are all beautiful, but If you are talking about facial beauty, then Greta Garbo is in a class by herself at #1.

  • I LOVE IT! Vivien Leigh All the WAAY!! and what did you use to create this?

  • @erinplaice Thank you! I used iMovie.

  • @MonroeSmile the most beautiful women in the cinema history are lauren bacall and gene tierney!i'm a woman, but their beauty is spectacular!!!!

  • This video is beautifully and painstakingly constructed, thank you so much for doing this Claudia!! I found this beyond inspring. These women need to be remembered and honoured, their kind of lumnious and spellbinding beauty is so magical. In this era, their "flaws" of the face made them more interesting and fascinating. Thanks for paying tribute to these fabulous beauties/women of character. I don't think numbering is important, it's about appreciation, not a contest <3333

  • Thank you very much! I am glad you choose to put in K. Hepburn and Carole Lombard, two of my faves and beautiful at that. I do think Heddy Lamar would be higher in my list, but I enjoyed it!

  • Wonderful video Claudia, the music is simply perfect. The Joan Crawford part really gives me the chills, I'm so glad you included her this time.

Katharine Hepburn is not conventionally beautiful, but there's something really unique about her face, and she can be very very sexy, like in the Woman of the Year for example.

  • So much of beauty just has to do with things like how the hair is done. The eyebrows are a big one too, that either add or detract from looks. To much pencil and it looks awful and fakeish. Too thin in the eyebrows looks strange. Too high an arch can look unnatural. Grace Kelly had a beautiful eyebrow shape. Hedy Lamarr had a beautiful face shape and excellent eyes, but sometimes her eyebrows weren't the best. Jane Greer. Love those eyes. What a melt.

Beauty is a vain thing, but appealing.
