Question for those who play WOW and think it was dumb to have the memorial for someone they have not met in RL: Do you converse with any of your WOW Friends or fellow Guild Members outside of WOW?
This isn't to say you are this or that, but it would explain a bit if you only talk to your friends in WOW.
I use SL and talk with my SL friends in Flickr, Yahoo, Emails, etc... I have not met one of them in RL, but would be very sadden if one them died. This could be what the others did too.
I totally think the attack on the Memorial "Funeral" was bad and better judgement should have been used by the attackers s it involved a RL death, but this I think is different.
In RL, this wedding would be perfect for an attack. As these are 2 characters being married in a game, then all's fair I feel. The Memorial however was for a RL person, not the character.
I do not play WOW, so I don't know about different servers, but you would not have a wedding in a middle of a battlefield.
Its a game yes but some simple things should be noted. The people you attack at weddings like this and memorials for friends in game are real life people trying to have a good time or pay respect to a lost friend. You wouldn't like it if it happened to you or if someone just started killing you for no good reason other than to ruin your good time so what gives you the right to do so? What makes it different? WoW is in a sad state if this is what it comes down to. Sad indeed.

I am not in WOW, but I am in SL and have become close with many of my friends who are from around the world using SL. Maybe I am seeing this differently than others cause I am not in WOW and not sure of the cummunity side of things.

@99Osen lower our self to a level where its about killing the otherside? Who would lower there level to honor a something in wow? if you care about something or want to honor something you can do better then WoW or this. first of all if you have played this game at all you'll know that horde and alliance hate each other. Second of all they're playing on an Rp PVP server if they were smart they wouldve done it on an Rp server so they wont get attacked by horde.

@INick543 I have played the game and yeah I know all about the Horde and Alliance. So you're telling me if I'm alliance I have to hate horde people because game factions have an issue with each other? First piece of advice my friend gave me was not to play on pvp servers. He said you could mind your own business and killed for no reason. You could be sitting and get killed. Yeah you are suppose to kill the other faction but not because you have actual malice for the other side.

@INick543 Is killing NPCs not enough? I'm not saying their isn't a time or place for killing the other faction because I agree thats like your thing as part of the horde or alliance. I may of used the wrong word. Honor isn't the correct term, but respectful is. Be respectful of people's right to have fun and don't ruin their fun just because their of the other faction. Is it that hard on a pvp server to find some guys itching for a fight. I wouldn't think so.

@INick543 Listen those guys could of gone and found others willing to fight. Those people were trying to have fun and those guys had no reason to. Now I'm not saying their was a connection but if their was to the memorial that got broke up then that is lowering yourself to a bullies level. I should of made it more clear that I was saying "if" their was a connection. You do present good points but I'm just saying they didn't have to kill those members, they could of found others to kill.

@DrumOfWar Yeah and that shows that you're a dick in real life. Its a flipping game but guys like you take games like this way to seriously and most of the ones are pvpers. I don't play on servers like that because I don't want to be sitting alone or trying to complete quests and some level 85 horde member (I usually play alliance) decides I'm a juicy target and kills me. If you enjoy being a dick then go right ahead but I think the other side has a right to have fun. Its a damn game.

@99Osen well someone can't face reality, in life there will always be different people varied upon their content of character. But it is fun as fuck to ruin big events like this and I do kill lowbies that are flagged that pass by because 1. you're flagged 2. you are an easy target 3. it's better than nothing 4. well what other reasons do you need? You can think me as a "dick" but in reality you don't know me so try to act smart with someone else.

@DrumOfWar Well I could try and make excuses and try and explain myself about my favorites but honestly I have nothing to say other than I don't give a damn. I do in fact go outside and I do in fact lead a very normal life. I mean I could in fact favorite everything I like but I would have close to 300 or so favorites then. It may be fun for you to be an asshole but I prefer to not kill low level characters because its a waste of time. Whats the point? Their is none. It does nothing for me.

Screw the Horde and screw the alliance. Yes screw both sides and screw World of Warcraft if it makes people act like arroganant non sympathetic assholes who have nothing better to do than act like dicks. If you can't show respect to others because of a damn game then you shouldn't be playing. Its sick to see what players fucking due. Yes what the alliance did was wrong at that funeral but that doesn't justify turing around and being dicks in return. You're just as bad and guilty then.

See this kind of crap is why I don't want to play WoW again. Because alot of the damn players have no damn respect. Nothing is sacred including memorials for real life people who have died. Both sides are at fault and me and others I know play different sides in game but when we meet outside the game we don't act all hostile and even inside the game we stop and talk and then go about our duties. Not everything is about the two sides. Sometimes have some damn respect and sympathy.
