If christians only have to accept god as their lord, and implement the ethic of reciprocity, does that mean that if you want to die, you are allowed to kill someone? because that is what you are logically stating right here.
"Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength."
The second is this, "You must love your neighbor as yourself."
Your god, Jehovah, has never done anything that would make me respect him, quite the contrary actually. I don't love and respect my parents because they made me, or because they have the power to destroy me. I love and respect them because they have earned it by taking good care of me and loving and respecting me back.
People need to earn your respect? Thats a strange attitude. You should respect everyone, no matter what.
The judicial judgments of Jehovah, the universal sovereign, creator of heaven & earth, our life giver & sustainer, are righteous. Who are you to think they are wrong?
"Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:9
"You turn things upside down! Is the potter no better than his clay? Can something that has been made say about its maker, 'He didn't make me'? Can a piece of pottery say about the potter, 'He doesn't understand'?" - Isaiah 29:16
So basically my parents are better than me, and therefore own me? that's the most ridiculous statement I've heard all day, and believe me, I've heard some ridiculous statements today.
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them" - 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Well... doesn't sound all to terrible, save for a few. I'm already self loving, money loving, proud, disobedient to my parents, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, rash, lover of pleasure and I'm doing just fine being all that.
There's a big difference between respect and tolerance, being a Dutchman I know that difference all to well. It's the line between legal and illegal.
There are over 5 billion people on this planet who hold different beliefs from yours, who are you to think THEY are wrong?
Besides, there is no proof whatsoever that this Jehovah character created the universe and is master of all life. The only source is the bible, which he apparently wrote, coincidentally enough. You see the circular reasoning?
Jesus wasn't a Christian, he was a Jew. The message he brought didn't replace the old message, it added to it.
There are a few hundred pages at the beginning of your bible... It's called the Old Testament and it's there for a reason, you should look it up sometime.
"The old rule is now set aside, because it was weak and useless. The law of Moses could not make anything perfect. But now a better hope has been given to us, and with this hope we can come near to God." - Hebrews 7:18-19
I think you are blinded by the darkness of this world.
Luke 24:44 Then he said, "Everything I told you while I was with you comes to this: All the things written about me in the Law of Moses, in the Prophets, and in the Psalms have to be fulfilled.
An atheist knows the bible better than you do? it's pathetic.
"HAVE TO BE FULFILLED" meaning it hasn't happened yet! and the Law of Moses refers to the first five books of the old testament, INCLUDING that mount sinai scene on which god gives moses his laws.
Really, if you believe half of your bible is irrelevant, why don't you go ahead and burn that bit? I dare you.

Christians are under just 2 commandments -
The first being,
"Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength."
The second is this, "You must love your neighbor as yourself."
On these two commandments the whole Law hangs.

Oh I'm fine with that, just don't expect me to follow up on your rulebook. It's yours, not mine

Furthermore, you're an idiot.

Jesus is saying that he has fulfilled prophecy from the OT.
What's that got to do with Christians following or being under the Law of Moses? You just don't get it do you.

Who said it was irrelevant? The Law was useful for a time, but it was only a stop-gap while they waited for the Christ, who did away with it.
Of course there are still prophecies to be fulfilled, such as the one Jesus made in Matthew 24:3-44, but that has nothing to do with the Law.

Yes, and Jesus' laws were useful aswel, and then rationality came along and cut out the middle management
