After all, BKS was the one who hire MC as a back-up singer, believed in her, pushed her out to the forefront and gave Tommy Mottola, MC's demo tape. MC's reason for remaking the song was pure gratitude to BKS, and they are still good friends till this very day. Everytime MC sang the song she made sure everyone knew who sang it originally and why she chose to remake it.

Likewise, India & Mariah have songs that no other singers could sound better than them. Each singer has its unique style & talent & fans. I love all three of them- they could all sing.

Mariah is probably a better trained singer but just singing alone sometimes is not enough to make a song a hit, (who knows, maybe I am just being sentimental for this late 80's era) Brenda just had the right song at the right time and she was better than this clip. This is not the best video of this song. I do like both singers, I'm just glad we have these old videos to look at and remember happier times. The world is so harsh now, there is very little new music I like.
