No, The Cummins ECM is self contained. It only needs 12V, Ground and a Key on to run.

Is the ECM the black box that is mounted to the motor? If so this would make for a somewhat straight forward swap? V.
The ECM is the silver box mounted on the forward drivers side of the block on a 03-07 Cummins.
What happened to the 7.3 in the truck?

Hey how long did the transplant take you? any problems? has it givin you any problems yet? i got a 2007 powerstroke and would love to know how much time and money it takes to do the transplant

It's probablly about 100 hrs. worth of work and in the neighborhood of $12-15K

It's a Commonrail. Twin turbo'd thats why it sounds muffled.

if its a cummins then ya might wanna take the powerstroke sticker off!
