  • Караян чудесно создает живые картины. Такая связь с природой... И с темпом попадает в точку. Не ищите политики. И не надо плоских сравнений - он уникален.

  • блестяще!почему -то Нана Золя вспоминается)

  • ESTA TRONANDO!!!

  • This guys sems to have BIG FUN, i wanna be there!

  • hearing this u can understand why karajan was loved by nazi germany

this is great heavy marching music.

feels like heavy tanks and artillery approaching stalingrad - oh wait

  • @daimen6 give up the nazi stuff. So Karajan goes a little slower. Big deal. Get over it.

  • @RaolHetfild I much prefer Karajn's.

  • @RaolHetfild

Don´t forget: Karajan was an Austrian!

  • @RaolHetfild

    Don´t forget: Karajan was Austrian!

  • @berto41 you´re right... Rieu is producing cheap trash.

  • Pretty intense! That's Karajan.

  • I prefer this with carlos kleiber... Much more alive, much more passion, much more moving and much more perfectism

  • Johann Strauss was the Austrian John Philip Sousa.

  • @RaolHetfild karajan was austrian, i don't think he would call us "dummköpfe"... ;D

  • Listen to Clemens Krauss and Boskowsky; its dance hall music with long gowns.

Karajan conducts aristocratically,Kleiber like a Latino Molto Furioso

  • @RaolHetfild: haha, go learn german... X)

  • @RaolHetfild the correct form would be: " Fort du verdammter österreichischer Dummkopf!! Fort sagte ich!! "

    well i´m austrian... ^^

  • @RaolHetfild Haste etwa was gegen Österreicher???

  • Hitler dismissed karajan ... thats why hehehe

  • KARAJAN ERES INOLVIDABLE

  • @RaolHetfild That's an interesting and funny comment.

  • What happened at 3:16 What exploded ? Is this a tradition ? I'm not aware of those. Please enlighten me.

  • ¡¡¡ Cuidado maestro Karajan !!!

    ¡¡¡ jajaja !!!

  • This song is one of my favorits from strauss...but this version could be a bit faster

  • @kleindammermann

    Super kommentar!

Korrekt... it should rattle along SEHR speedy, amd not this sloppy Austrian fashion.

  • I don't want to comment on Von Karajan, because he was a genius too. That's a fact beyond any doubt. But, just listen to this performance and the very same by Carlos Kleiber... A VERY clear difference.

  • I agree Kleiber's better.

  • Noo, Karajan's version is much better. Not so fast, softly;) Just like a few minutes before storm...I mean, it's my opinion.

  • Very nice peace, but i think that this Polka must be a bit faster. :)

  • @saxosie A bit? No, a LOT faster.

  • I will propose to Vienna Philarmonic a execution using militar bombs, so there will be energy. again: listen the poetry, not the "bombs". And I'm sure Carlos Kleiber were agree, because tempo and more or not accents are not the points of a EXECUTION. May be now all the people wants a cocaine version of all the expressions in the world.

  • Berto, yes, may be the message is too cryptic for you. I love Kleiber and his style. But when I listen something from a great maestro, if he is a great maestro, I can listen music, style and a good idea. So forget "tempo", and listen. The harmony, the experience, the melody and poetic feeling of this interpretation.

  • ok do it like a gran premium of F1!

listen the music, not the tempo.

  • Ovaj izlapeli Karajan kao da diriguje neku misu,a ne drazesnu kompoziciju Gromovi i munje, uzasno me nervira !

  • what a gentleman...but you're a dumbass & you'll be a dumbass...dumbass :)

    sincerly:

    Luci0

  • really??? lol you make me laugh "tempo drags" "no energy" & "many others" you aren´t musician, right?? ohhh i know i know...you have read some wikiarticles of music and now you believe you are the reincarnation of Kleiber??? you dumbass

  • This UNTER DONNER UND BLITZ is very slowly

Karajan don't know conduce it like Kleiber!

  • Sounds like "Unter Donner und Blitz" - but only slower! :)

  • Ahh, I have to agree. Kleiber's was better. Karajan wasn't bad though.

  • I've never played this piece, but I would guess that the tempo would read as "Lebhaft" (Lively) rather than "Langsam" (Slowly). This interpretation is not as lively as I would expect from a Strauss waltz, polka, or march.

  • the best storm ever !!!

  • the end made me cry from laughter

  • :30 - :37

It Looks Like He's Having a Hissy Fit

    :D

    Though, I Do LOVE Karajan

  • And I think Karajan gives the typical Austrian interpretation in general; this does not sound prussian at all.

  • When was this recorded? It must be from a New Year Concert.

  • It belongs to 1987 new year´s concert

  • 0 :35 to 40 . Gives me a smile watching karajan.

  • haha! thank you ^^

  • I love it! The best is the fantastic end!

  • it's just a tiny bit too slow...

  • nah dude the tempo is perfect

  • never heard Carlos Kleiber? He is unbelievable! HIS tempo is perfect!

  • great!!!!

  • =) his face at the end is very funny....scary?!?! =D

  • Definitely check out Kleiber's version of this piece and compare styles. Interesting differences in interpretation.

  • they both had different but fantastic styles

  • I love it! The best is the fantastic end! Pure, silly, fun!
