  • why my braised beef is sooo tough! it's hardly to chew!

  • @JJRR313 which part of beef did you use and how many hours of simmering? these are important factors

  • Hi. Thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity, why do you use olive oil? My understanding is that olive oil is NOT a Chinese ingredient - it is too "strong flavored", and also has a very low "burn point". Thanks again!

    Regards, BZ.

  • @benzuckerman This is just my personal preference, I also found grape seed oil is very nice too. People usually use peanut oil or corn oil in Chinese cooking, but I really dislike them. I found peanut oil or corn oil make dishes taste too heavy and greasy. I actually feel olive oil is lighter and has a pleasant fragrance especially when fried with vegetables or used as a base for a sauce. Because olive oil burns at a lower temperature, so my house is not all smoky when I cook.

  • i dont eat beef but i enjoy watching you cook.

do you know how to make mapo tofu ?

  • @wormald111 Thanks for your comment! Yes I know how to make mapo tofu. I have the recipe on my website and will do a video sometime soon!

  • Hi Kelly, I had a question about woks.

I noticed you're using nonstick, but I heard carbon steel is the best wok because you can season it. What wok do you think is best?

  • @alborzka Yes I heard that carbon steel wok is the best for frying. However I still like nonstick better especially for cooking meat or something that requires slow cooking. If a dish requires 1 - 2 hours slow cooking, I don't have to stand in front of the wok stirring every 15 minutes like I would if using the carbon steel wok.

  • You make everything look so easy.............I love watching your channel, the beef looks yummy :D
