That is so obvious, tacky, and predictable; the little right wing bible thumper putting masking tape on his T-shirt and writing filthy, intolerant garbage based on Braonze Age nonsense. However, the kid has the right to do it if he wants. He's a little fascist and doesn't even realize it, but he has the right to do it. A teacher does not.
That religious bigot of a kid is a moron but his exercise of speech was not disruptive. A message on a shirt in no way disturbs a class unless someone is offended and consequently interrupts the class. But surely the onus should be on people to restrain themselves regardless of whether or not they are offended. If you are offended by the t-shirt then wear a counter t-shirt. Offended people should check their emotions. Wrong messages should be defeated with counter argument not prohibition.
They were in their right to ask him to remove the shirt or cover it up IF it was disturbing class. They did not have the right to remove him simply because of the shirt's message nor to call the police.
The 2nd amendment gives the right to keep and bear arms but, just like the above example, the school can prohibit someone bringing a weapon to a school because it disrupts not only the learning environment but the safety of children and employees. Common sense.
The school is owned by the government, YES they can do anything they want they want with it. They can regulate it all they want in my opinion. You have the choice to go to a private school where they may allow that behavior. You also can stand anywhere on the streets and fight for your rights... but degrading someone else's rights because of personal opinions in a government owned building, is despicable. You wouldn't ever find a Christian wearing the verses of Exodus 21 justifying slavery.

Also, does that mean public schools should allow guns?? It is a 2nd amendment right... but a school is clearly not a place for guns.
