Which does suit his work from the time between Onimusha 3 and Dawn of Dreams as the protector of humanity against the Genma [well until the Dark Oni awakens]

The reason his theme is like Samanosuke's theme from Onimusha 3 and why Tenkai has the Oni Gauntlet in DoD is because Tenkai is Samanosuke, I guess they were trying to hint at it XD

When the fight with Tenkai started I paused the game and sat there listening for a good 6 mins. Had a feeling Tenkai was Samanosuke after that.

Anyhow, love his theme!

From Onimusha 3, i knew Samanosuke's work wasn't finished, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's timely appearance pretty much summed it up.

@erickvso Think about it, he's a remanant of the Akechi clan (after the battle of yamazaki where Akechi Mitsuhide was defeated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi),

So in order to protect his very existance Samanosuke Akechi became Nankobo Tenkai.

But in terms of story, it's just a case Oda - Toyotomi\Tokugawa unification (if you know what i mean)

@B4ULoveShine Considering Takeshi was billed to play as Tenkai in the Onimusha Dawn of Dreams movies (Which is still in development hell) then it's kind of obvious that they could pay for his likeness, they had the man on hand after all.
