Cool! :-) Have you tried placing 'em on/over/near,etc, a guitar's pick-ups? It would have to be plugged into an amp, of course... I wonder if one could get a controlled feedback thingy going on with 'em and the magnetic fields of the pick-ups... check out the e-bow videos here on youtube to get an idea on what I'm trying to convey here... lol! :-)
What @skinbad1 said. Get your facts right. This doesn't affect any technology like credit cards or metal detectors. It is mainly to feel electromagnetic (EM) fields. Also to control other magnets, as done in this video.
Hush!! All you uninformed people out there. It does not affect any technology or credit cards, does not set off metal detectors and does not come flying out during an MRI scan. Don't comment on things you don't understand.
And to answer some of the other comments, it will not affect credit cards, security screenings, ipods, computers, computer disks, etc. It is far too weak to affect any of those. I go through security screenings at the airport all the time and it's never set them off once.
Also, for those who are asking what the point is, it's primarily to sense electromagnetic fields coming out of computers, microwaves, motors, etc. The magnet vibrates when you get close to a field, so it makes you feel like you're actually sensing the fields. Playing with magnets is just a side benefit. :)
MRI's don't rip them out. We know of people who have had MRI's and all that happens is the vibrate strongly. (I work for one of the inventors of the procedure., and I have one myself.) Also, I've been through tons of airport screenings - regular walk-through, backscatter, wand, etc - and it's never set them off.
man everyone is being negative about this!! It's a modification. Jeez, if someone wants it done let them do it. It seems pretty cool to me and I've thought about having it done before. Why does it matter what purpose this serves? Piercings are just piercings but people still get them am I right? Jeez.
To all saying that it would mess up his computer/ipod/whatever, it wouldn't. Magnets can mess with old CRT monitors and floppy disks, but beyond that, they're pretty much useless if you want to damage an electronic device. The only real danger he'd probably have to face is that he could never have an MRI.
does it mess with like... computers and ipods and stuff....? im not trying to be rude or anything, but like... magnets+technology usually = bad... :\ that's epic though. :)
@FS3K Also known as rare-earth metal magnets they are far more powerful than the standard ones you may have played with as a kid. I mean, they arent gonna do anything special, just more powerful. And When putting 2 together you can easily pinch the shit out of yourself so having one under the skin ensures this
Better not use a cell phone or credit card in that hand.. If you do, you can say bye bye to both... Granted it may take some prolonged use with both, but it will still mess them up eventually.
Dude that is not good for you! the magnets will hold iorn in your blood to them then once it's too big it will release a blood clot and when it gets to your heart you know the rest
Actually the silicon is there to reduce risks or rejection and migration, nothing more. If a strong enough magnet was placed in an area of heavy blood flow (around capillaries) then it could very well effect the blood flow due to the presence of hemoglobin. If i air bubble was left behind during the procedure this could easily form a clot.
Theres been absolutely no medical testing done regarding these implants so they are very risky and unproven, especially due to their rarity.
@chainmail101 haemoglobin might contain iron but that doesn't make it magnetic. MRI machines don't rip the blood out of people, though going in an MRI with those in would be pretty painful.
@milkkart Hemoglobin isn't magnetic but it has been proven to be affected by strong magnetic fields. Especially in terms of oxygen and ion absorption.
Free energy can change the world! But the Oil companies want these technologies unknown to the masses,Find the real deal, a free energy device at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,The revolution begins!
Omg airports must be hellll:0 that is amazing and clever… kinda lol. What happens if u put ur hand next to a thumb tacks? Or diaper pins? GOODLUCK!!! :D
@KaiItza Actually, he'd have an advantage as an electrician. The alternating current in wires would cause the magnet in his finger move. This way, he can tell if a wire is carrying current without touching it(and risking injury) or having to use an external measurement device(like one of those Hall Effect meters).
My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during 5.5 years by the German BND,the former GESTAPO. I recorded more than 100 videotapes which ended up in the legal system. My brother was tortured during 1.5 years despite several legal procedures pending. He was assassinated on July 11th 2009 because of our homepage, linked on my channel, and our book Der Totalitäre Staat. If my homepage disappears, the BND will have assassinated me as well

@MrCssPwnage Do you know how strong a MRI Is? IT would stick to the top then it would pinch his skin until they ripped out.

And the point of this is what? Surely there's more to it then just playing with these tiny metal balls! Come on, honestly, that's not it right?
coppercabxx 1 year ago
@coppercabxx same point as to any other kind of bodyart. either because it's cool or the person getting it done thinks it looks good.
there doesn't need to be a point to other people and th person getting it done doesn't need to explain why they had it done.
