At 07.46 it looks like the Drum Major is tick tocking his arm is in the wrong place in relation to his feet. and if you look atthe rest of them there arms are in the wright position. :)
The Drum Major is actually giving a right wheel signal and is at the part where he unfurls his arm so that it is parallel to the ground and pointing away to the right.

Yes, but Canadians have the monarchy and British military traditions -- through that, Canada has traditions older than the country itself. The Canadian Armed Forces still dress as British troops do and have the same marches and salutes. I am sorry that in recent years the Lib govts in Canada have made Canada more about "not USA" rather than focus on its Commonwealth Heritage.
what i dont get is that the bear skins are made from bears that have been kput down as pests in canada i believe correct me if i am wrong so whats the worry the ecos are having i mean its not as if someone is going out their way to kill a bear on purpose
Great video, its a disgrace that the eco warriors want to change the design of the Bear skin hats, yes the whole design, not just the materials. The worst part is, the MOD is taking them seriously.
I think people are generally apathetic to detail, sadly. Real bearskin feels nicer, brushes up better, does not become waterlogged and when the sun shines upon them they have this slight red sheen.
just pointing out mate, the household cavalry is also part of the guards division, so it comprises of 7 regiments. other than that mate, bang on vid, great job
Nice montage of the Guards. The video should have incuded the regimental slow marches in addition to the quick marches here. These bands really are the core of the British army's military bands now. There are virtually no more line bands to speak of any more. The other thing thats shocking now is to see women in the guards bands today. Never thought I would live to see that! I am sure they are good musicians and all, but women just don't fit a guards uniform the way its suppose to look!

Well, with so few bands in the British army now its sad that they have to ruin them with social experiments now. The women use to have their own band of the Royal Womens army corps which was first-rate with fine traditions. They had a smart uniform and were great. But with the creation of the Corps of Army Music and elimination many older bands the women are now spread out among the few remaining army bands. It just does not look the same to see a few females mixed in with tall Guardsmen!
As long as they wear the same uniform as the men, they look and blend in perfectly fine. Imagine if they wore a different uniform because they were women? Think how the band would look then!
With all the defence cuts, the army has pretty much lost all of it's traditions and history. Once you get rid of a 300 year old Regiment, you cant bring it back. Lest we Forget

i think its good if they can find somthing that isnt bear skin, but still gives the same effect, and so you cannot notice. but not change the design!

It's a matter of height. I don't think they should be discriminated on the grounds of sex but perhaps on height?
It's aesthetic though and as long as the music retains it's reputed quality then we can look past it.
