  • How can I load the MS-2000 patches on the Microkorg?

  • does this model have built in speakers

  • @ChristLivin No.

  • Is ther a little K.I.T.T in it??? :-)

  • good sound the knight rider^^

  • i have the xl - its a sick machine - i recommend every musician to buy it

  • decisi di comprarlo dopo aver sentito la prima demo...

  • Can the Microkorg make your voice sound like a choir?

  • @MartinMusicMaker82 yes kind off a strings yes human voice takes some editing cause you can make all the sounds sound like a vowel you recorded that you say

  • Can the Microkorg make your voice sound like a choir?

  • dubstep 3:44

  • 1. Turn on the Power of the microKORG and wait a few seconds for it to boot up. Press and hold the SHIFT key and then press the ARPEGGIATOR ON/OFF key.

    2. To select one of the 8 demo songs, press the PROGRAM NUMBER key (1 – 8) that corresponds to the demo song you would like to listen to.

    3. To exit the demo song mode, press the SHIFT key again.

  • How do you activate the first demo song in the video?

  • I mean the first song it

  • This is a song by Enter Shikari, I think it is called Enter Shikari by Enter Shikari

  • @AndehxCore no, its not.

  • @benanderson8 There is no real reason to make a rack mount as it is digital already so they could just use the same modeling software as a DAW plugin.

  • I would like to experiment with space music (Steve Roach style) ...is this the right machine for that, or is there a another that you would recommend (modest price range only)

  • 5:24 or 5:26 or something how do you do that little pitch bend thing.

  • @HarrisonRae there is a know on the very left side that does it.

  • @benanderson88

This thing uses the same engine as the MS2000, which I believe has a bigger keyboard AND a rack mount version.

  • /watch?v=SHh4JWmoiaQ

  • I'm making Darkwave when I get mine.

  • CNT WAIT TILL I GET MINEE!! :L

  • the stupid moving light is out of time.

  • this is kind of a stupid question but how do you play the presets on it?? i dont have one yet but i was wondering how do you do it? and if you wanna make more songs do you have to delete the presets?

  • WHERS THE DUBSTEP?!

    WHERES THE WOMWOMWOWMWOMWOWMWOM

  • Oh man! Brings back so many memories!!! I used to get so excited over the trance demo. This was my first "pro" synth back in 2006. I kinda miss it. :(

  • so how do you find out the combination, so people can play it??

  • i like the first patch you let us here its one il be having fun with when i get my MK

  • love the sound at 3.30,cant wait to get my microkorg

  • Anyone know the patch preset for demo song 1?

  • You know its a shame it doesnt have drums on :/ Still an awsome piece of kit though :)

  • ok. so im looking for that trancey sound, EXACTLY like the first demo song. sooo microkorg or microkorg xl? what would be better for that?

  • which one has more retro spacey sounds....this one or the korg xl?

If you could only have one...would it be the microkorg or the korg xl?

    thanks

  • @novanine9 I would say the XL due to the Radias engine? I may be wrong though.

  • @TjugoGotoTio - So, are you saying that the Radius engine has better spacey retro sounds then the ms2000?

MInd you...I'm not interested in fm synthi sounds or realistic samples of pianos...I would be purchasing this unit, precisely, to record futuristic sweepy....spacey retro pads and leads on my songs.

    thanks

  • @TjugoGotoTio hey!! man i had a microkorg but i had to sell it cause i needed the money..3 years are past and now all the memories came back..this is so weird..i miss these wonderfull times with the microkorg. now i sound sentimental, i know

  • @novanine9

I would say the MicroKorg, in IMO, it sounds better and is cheaper.

  • @novanine9 If you are going for 90es trance/spacesynth sound, definetly the original. More updated rythm/pop, the XL, imho. I've got the Original, I'm not really considering the XL. Also the XL feels very cheap combined to the Original.. Much more.. toy-ish

  • Dude the vocoder fuckin sucks.

  • hey, im getting a microkorg soon and i was just wondering. doe the microkorg have its own drum settings?

  • @ryo563388 There is no drumkits in the microKorg.

  • does this model have a drum machine so you can add beats to rhythms you come up with?? this is the million dollar question :)

  • @MrHankscorpio100 Nope, it does not have a drum machine.

  • @TjugoGotoTio WIth the microKORG, you actually can program your own drum sounds, with the drawback being you have to fiddle with the knobs until you get each one just right, which can be rather time-consuming. It's not a drum machine, but don't let that stop you. =)

  • @MrHankscorpio100 no it doesn't have a drum machine within it, but it is usb keyboard meaning you could use it as a midi controller to run a virtual drum machine off of your computer.

  • hey this is probably a dumb question, but when you purchase a synth do you need to buy speakers as well, or does it have internal speakers?

  • @aj19fleming yeah..you need an amp for most synths

  • @s8terblood11 thanks that's good to know.

  • no internal speakers, but it has audio out and can be used with headphones :)

  • @seanyyg thanks for that guys

  • @aj19fleming Easiest and cheapest way is buy computer speakers and connect them to the headphone jack.

  • @aj19fleming Some have speakers, but most 'pure' synth keyboards and especially synth modules without keyboards don't have their own speakers, since they're mostly designed to be used in a chain with an amplifier, mixer, rec device etc after it. But most if not all have some basic kind of output, like 1/4" or 1/8" jacks (like any normal mp3 player) which are widely available at just a couple of bucks and can be connected to any amp or speaker set. The Microkorg does NOT have it's own speakers.

  • hey the first demo is wicked, does anyone know how to play it at all, and if so i would love to know the settings etc...

    thanks

    ...peace

  • Just knocked one of they keys up and its stuck... Anyone know if you can take them off? I don't want to force it back in incase it breaks... Fuck sake.

  • @wolverine005 i would go to a synth repair shop just incase you brake it trying to fix it.

  • No worries, I sorted it out. Had to open it up though, which was quite annoying.

  • lol! i like the second best

  • can you please speak real english !! And stop with the word Lol.. thats embarressing

  • That's funny, telling me to speak real English. Seeing as you've made many grammatical mistakes. Lets start, English*, that's* and embarrassing*.

You sir, learn to speak real English.

  • How much do you want to bet that hinahtara had to look up how to spell embarrassing?

  • "Seeing as you've made many grammatical mistakes."

    sentence fragment (consider revising).

  • @TreCeratopsz your all fucking idiots

  • go fuck yourself

  • I WANT ONE

  • Do only certain mircoKORGS have keys that will light up or do all of them do that

  • Comment removed

  • i know what those program buttons are.

The keys in the yeah yeah yeahs video light up.

type in Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Heads Will Roll"

  • Comment removed

  • @ShufflestormMedia no all microkorgs do that...

  • What are the flashing light buttons for? Anyone? Is it to add layers to a song or what? I noticed the xl dont got this.

  • @YvesIsaki i think the flashy buttons do add extra layers onto the track!

  • Fudge. Well... I'm sure the xl can do the same, but I wonder if the microkorg can add MORE layers.

  • whats better for a attack attack, tdwp, asking alexandria, enter shikari metal kind of sound the microkorg or the microkorg xl

  • pretty sure all those bands use the original microKORG

  • @TDWPbassistAILD yeah, original is better for those sounds

  • microkkorg

  • microkorg for sure

  • *cough* a SCENE-thysizer. *cough*

  • I have a Micro Korg, and as far as I know, I havent found any built in drum tracks

  • So does this have some built in drums beats etc? I want 1,also can u hook it into an amp, thanks for the vid

  • what is with this @ things???

  • Disregard that last comment I posted.

  • @ ne0nsurf

I wonder how many times people

  • which would you say is better

the microkorg or the micro X?

want to get one but dont know which to go for

  • Group 1: MS-2000, MS-2000r, microKorg ( these synths sound gritty, more retro and phatte than Group 2)

Group 2: Radias, R3, microKorg-XL ( these synths sound cleaner, more modern and versatile than Group 1)

if you already have MS-2000 or microKorg no need to get the others in Group 1 since they are in fact the same synth engine.

if you already have Radias, R3, MicroKorg-XL no need to get the others in Group 2 since they are in fact the same synth engine.

  • hi,can you play along, and change the sounds on the demo songs?..cheers wayne.

  • how do u play the demo songs on the keyboard?

and what additional features does the XL have?

  • shift and arpeggiator button at the same time

  • microkorgl ooks cooler more compact and xl is of corse larger and has wider range just google it and read reveiws

  • What do I buy, microkorg or microkorg XL?

  • look at the features of xl .. and then u look at the prizes .. THEN u know what u want x)

  • i would say go with microkorg.. cuz i think microkorg has slightly more parameters that u can edit (from my demo experience with XL, and personal owning experience with the regular one)... plus, microkorg is way cheaper

  • you are new at everything. go back into your hole.

  • and i guess im the other half cause ive never heard of attack attack. sound like nobodys to me.

  • their a HUGE band in their genre.

  • im not fond of attack attack its all autotuned, i'm not getting one ot be like them xD

  • i want to buy microkorg

but i dont know if should this

    or the xl version

  • Me neither.. but I just went with the XL version, because I refused to believe they would make a downgraded synth.

  • Trance is the best.

  • Perhaps some people here LIKE techno? -.-

  • You're the one to talk, just going against everyone that likes techno like that -.-

  • I wish you'd take time to read the nice description of what the music is. Since it kinda clearly explains that these are the factory presets... Dick

  • How small are the keys compared a normal keyboard key?

  • Less then half the normal size, if I remember correctly

  • ehh not thaaaat small

  • Yes less than half, if you know what a melodica is and have seen one in person. The keys are the same size. :D

Its what Im used to. :P

  • How would one load the MS-2000 presets into the microkorg?

  • I used Soundquest Midiquest to send the banks as sysex data. I guess u could use any sysex dumper tho.

  • thanks for making my comment bad but its true, mine was posted about a week b4 this was

  • Who gives a shit cry me a freaking river

  • I'm considering getting this or the XL at some point. Any guidance as to which to go for, or similar synths/vocoders in the market?

  • The original microKorg is the best bang for the buck imo since you can get it used really cheap. Personally, since I have a Radias I wouldnt consider the XL but if I hade to buy something in that price range I would go listen to the XL or maybe wait for the new AKAI Miniak?

  • hey dood. should i buy a MicroKorg if im on a budget?

  • You could also checkout the Alesis Micron and the Novation X Station. They are in the same price range. I have not tried them myself but by the looks of it, they seem harder to program.. but they do have normal sized keys though

  • the red lights remind me of the old battlestar galactica cylons

  • REMINDS ME OF DA NIGHTRIDER CAR KIT

  • how do i do this like can someone tell me how to do this on my micrkorg????

  • all idiots they dont know how to do it read your manuals. how stupid you can be? all idiots they dont read the manual and quest i wish the death

  • I just don't see the point in getting a microKorg...

I have software that will blow this thing clear out of the water! =D

  • which is arpeg

  • its the the botton below volume

  • Hey how do u get the MicroKORG to play these songs??

Mine should be arriving either tomorrow or the next day

    Can't wait

  • ive got a micro korg how can i do this help . ? ?

  • press shift, then arpeg.

  • hey hey PLEASE ANSWER has the micro korg a 3.5mm output, u know to plug it into the mic output (PC) and has the microkorg a drum machine? u know to make drums

  • Short answer: No.

Sure it does have headphones output that you could use to connect it to the LINE IN on your computer. The MIC IN does not work.

I would not recommend it as a drum machine as it does not have a built in sequencer.

  • so the microkorg has a 3.5 mm output, and, can i record a song if a connect to the line in computer or the programs only let u record by the mic in?

  • No it has a standard 1/4" jack. You usually get an adapter to convert 1/4" to 3,5mm with headphones. Or you could buy one, they are cheap.

After that you could record on your computer using the LINE IN. Every program I tried can record signal from LINE IN. But if you want to use Cubase/Live or similiar you would need to install ASIO4ALL drivers first.

  • and the microkorg xl has a 3.5 output ? sorry maybe u think that im a retard but im argentinian, i speak english a lttle bit, im good to read in english and understand what u say but sometimes it cost me to understand what are u telling to me !

  • can you connect a usb to computer and play it?. does it come with a software or anything? im new to this.and by far all synth this one wins for me.

  • no u cant the microkorg xl has usb and a software but u know im new to this too but i think that this is better than the XL, type microkorg XL and u will see

  • No, it does not have USB. You could however use as a controller if you have MIDI-IN on your computer.

The same goes for the software, there is an editor but works with MIDI only.

  • how u play this demos in the microkorg

  • connect an ipod with a tecnho song or electronic instrumental song

  • they are on the website. but you can play music off of your ipod too.

  • i like number 5 best. Great Video ;-)

  • just a knockoff of my video, except u show a worse camera view.

  • heyy how do you get the demo songs?

  • korg com

    section microkorg :)

  • awesome vid! can you record and save onto this synth?

  • No there is no record/play kinda function. You can however program sequences with the arpeggiator.

  • well im starting a band and it's going to be a duo and im looking for a synth that can sorta play back recordings and this synth has sounds i love. Is programming the sequences where you play a chord or play a note and something else plays with it?

If you know of any synths that can record and playback that sounds like MicrKorg please let me know :)

    If

  • anyway you can connect the microkorg to a pc via MIDI, you record on pc and when you press play on pc the microkorg will receive the recorded note

  • I can't wait to get mine! I look foward to working with a more "hands on" approach. I use software synths such as Massive and the FM8, but it's just not the same as physically manipulating the various knobs and buttons.

  • I love the knobs! Moog-copies :)

  • true what you said about the presets being for "trance junkies" haha

the vocoder is pretty versatile though

and banks 4,5 and 6 have got some really good sounds

  • yes the vocoder is awesome

  • i just got mine yesterday(microkorg),and ever since, i cant stop playiing, haha i sletp like at 4 in the morning just messing around with it :P

  • How DO You Do That I Wanna Start By Doign Somethign Liek That For A SOng Buh I Dunno How Please Tell. . . ? ? !!!

  • Yes. The settings are somewhere on Youtube.

  • can a talk box be used with this?

  • Of course. There are many videos on you tube.

  • hey man can u put a tutorial together showin how to save the sounds you create and where to put it and how to load

  • Sorry I sold my microKorg

  • why?

  • I loved it but I bought a Korg Radias instead

  • Oh ok!

I thought that if you set one to Vocorder you could access the alternate. No wonder it didn't work.

I bought mine from a guy online and I never got the instruction book.

  • My question is how do you switch between the green and gray parameters on the effects knobs?

  • You hold down the SHIFT key and press bank select (the key marked A SIDE B)

  • Are these samples off the Korg website?

  • the first song is awesome <3

  • Yeah I love it! I want to know it's name... or the notes

  • No. There is however two arpeggiators.

  • is there a step sequencer in the microkorg?
