I use pine wood. Very soft, A little too soft and delicate sometimes, but if you are careful it is nice not to have to work so hard with the carving for first-timers.
That is a beautiful video, Kristie. I loved the music. I have to wait a couple of years for my daughter to be able to make one--but we can wait. Keep making your wonderful videos. I so love them.
