@rasp187 I'd love to get some more rpm's out of the engine. I aw Crane has a set for DD the Skittle...not sure if there is a video of it on here cuz everyone refers to them as 12 or 16.
@americansmark Crower cams are hard to come by, as they're fairly rare. Your best bet would be to try to find a set someone is selling used. Usually they aren't marked up much at all simply because new grinds coming out by Crane and even Brian Crower are becoming more and more used. All-in-all it's about selecting cams specific for what you're trying to do and that will work in the kind of head you are running (stock, mildly ported, race ported, etc.).
@rasp187 Makes sense. I'll keep an eye out. I'm just looking for a daily driver at this point with stock or maybe mild heads. Something I could drive to the track and back home. Maybe a few years down the line, when the daily driving duties are taken away from it, I'll gut it and do a solid race build, but that's a long ways away.
@americansmark Well I've swapped numerous sets of cams, so I guess I'll give my input on the matter. I've always had great luck with Crower S2's and S3's for my builds. I am running S3's now, but the S2's worked awesome with my .50 trim in the day. For some reason Brian Crower cams never impressed me when I had them. I ran Crane 18's and those were nice billet cams as well. What do you have done to your SRT?
Love that wheel bro. What is it? Not a big fan of cam lope on the 4-cylinders though. Prolly cuz I'm used to the sound of my buddy's 6.0 Goat loping along. Either way, nice car. Possibly getting an ACR edition with straight pipes and CAI tomorrow.
@americansmark Momo with quick-release hub. Cams weren't really for lope. Even tuned they lope. I guess it's just a "perk" of having bigger cams in the car.
@rasp187 What's the benefit of the cams on a 40cylinder then? I'll look into the Momo. Ended up with an 05 Orange Blast SRT-4. Picking it up tomorrow and making a stop at Summitt Racing on the way back for some parts.
@americansmark The way they're currently tuned, they spool up the 35R faster than stock cams. Depending on how you tune aftermarket cams, you can increase the upper RPM range and lengthen it out, or you can make it so it spools a bigger turbo faster.
Rich idle? It's perfectly stoich and the higher the number, the leaner the A/F's are. Idling at 10 or so would be a rich idle. The cams never affected the idle A/F's, however.
@lowrance122 You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you? In the video the wideband is clearly bouncing in the 14s, which is nowhere near rich for a N/A application and certainly not for a boosted application. 14.1-.7 is so insignificant at idle it's not even worth commenting about. Learn a bit more about cars and then come posting on how widebands should read.
My gf bought it for me years ago. I asked her and she can't remember where she got it. I know it's a Momo wheel with a quick-disconnect and custom middle stencil of the "Ram."
so what kinda internal did you go with i have my car tore down and fixing to build it and need tips on what to and dont's. what size pistons and bore over or not.
Fully. Plenty of fuel also. I didn't figure Id get much more outta it. You running header or manifold on the exhaust? I dont plan on running more than 20-21 psi on pump just to be safe.
sounds great hey i have a few questions lol are you port an polished, valve job? an most important did you run into a lean prob in 5th on highway? oh my vids are after my cam an gear install
What steering wheel?!
Tsimfuckiss 6 months ago
@Tsimfuckiss It's a custom Momo wheel that my friend etched a Dodge Ram emblem into the horn for.

@Fam4Racing The two in the a-pillar are VEI brand, and the one by where the stock boost gauge sits is the Aeroforce Interceptor Scangauge.

@americansmark Crane cams are good cams. Try to find some original Crower cams (not Brian Crower).
rasp187 1 year ago
@rasp187 I have heard about those. Can I buy them from Crower or do I have to find someone who is selling it for above market value? lol

Crower rods with Wiseco pistons @ stock compression (8.5:1). .020 overbore, too, with a polished and knifed crankshaft (balanced, of course).

Love the steering wheel.

You have a lot more power to be had from the 35R on the 18s, bro. You should be making close to 500whp with that setup :)
Built motor?
