  • @carmareber- it takes some time before your body learns to go into fat burning mode. The more often you try the better youll get at it. Just remember ...after you break your fast ...eat healthy...or as healthy as u can...no ones perfect..but dont go back to the eating habits that made you unhealthy then say fasting dont work....like some people

  • Not sure why people say its dangerous to water fast.. its all in the mind. Don't do it if you're already slim because you'll probably faint. But if you have weight to burn, water fasting works and your body eats the stored fat and flushes it as you urinate frequently

  • @carmareber yuh definally need to break your fast if you cant get up anymore or start to trow up. Its good for some ppl to start with short fasts like 4-7-14 days etc

  • @sushicatny I enjoyed your countdown videos during your fast; congratulations on your successful weightloss. Where are you now with maintaining your weight? Today is 07/02/2011 I just ended my thirty day fast starting 06/01/2011 -06/30/2011. I feel fantastic like a brand new person.

    She is entitled to share her thoughts and feelings about something she has chosen to do which is freedom of speech. She is allowed to say how she did something, and how she felt. Who are you to say what she can/cannot say to others?

    Maybe if you listened to the whole video you would have realised that she mentions the negatives as well as the positives from her fast.

  • well 1 gram of fat obserb 5 grams of water do you understand. So if you stop drinking water after your Fasting you will gain all back ( in water ) . English is not my real language so sorry for the bad lang.

    1 gram fat = 5 gram water = ( inside 1 gram fat ) Water diet is not starving. It clean your body , i would recommend a protein powder aswell to not lose your muscles . Muscles burn more fat then anything. Your legs burn more fat then any other muscle group. Clean your colon with water , you will poop alot . But its good. Drink cafee so you dont get to dissy

  • it must have been hard to do it for that long, ive fasted for about 5 days once to cleanse my body and lose weight- im 16 and my mom did it with me because we're both concerned with being the perfect healthy weight. Ive found that drinking seltzer instead of water makes you feel better and also that the third day is usually the hardest and if you can get over that its smooth sailing from then on. GOOD LUCK FASTERS!! xo

  • i swore that if my aunt wasn't sick, i'd go on a water fast for a month. thank god, she's fine and i should have started the fast like four days ago. the thing is that i COULDN'T. i mean, i get up at 7 to go to uni and i do everything right until 6 or 7 pm. i get super hungry and once i've started to eat, i can't stop lol how did you do it? i made a promise to myself and i have to keep it!! any tips? i'm planning to start all over tomorrow

  • dear...have u ever tried the Harcombe diet? :) no reason to put yourself in such dangerous situation...one or 2 days occasionally juice fasting might be okay...but this...just think of this...the body had teeth, stomach and intestines...FOR A REASON. I hope u're ok :)

  • Went from 222 to 203 as of today..Day 6 I exercise daily by walking and some jogging for 45 min. I feel great! I was an exercise fanatic for years..so my tolerance is greater then the norm.I had to leave this because I don't agree about not exercising. I just don't Jog as fast or walk. In fact my energy level was far less for jogging as of today. I couldn't jog nowhere the normal distance as of today..Day 6 I am on vacation,which is super helpful.

  • guys...TRY to fast for at least 15 days on WATER FAST and check your face..your face will shrink....it'll become skinnier...not like hers after 30 days it looks beautiful....TRY IT...u'll see what i'm talking about, cuz I fasted myself...I Know what it is..

  • Ok I think this lady is LYING look at her face...It's still looks good and it doesn't look like it shrinked. When I fasted on water FAST on my 4th day YOU could already see how my face shrinked a little...and she DID 30 days and she looks the same!?....good job lady...trying to become famous?

  • I can't go 3 hours without eating. My body will go into diabetic shock and I'll die! How did I get that way? Starving myself as a teenager, going through periods of fasting and hunger, and it caused damage to my internal organs. You can also go into liver failure. I've lost 85 lbs by proper diet and exercise. Not obsessively dieting or exercising, either, but doing it moderately. Your body will heal and cleanse itself with fresh fruits and veggies, not by starving yourself.

  • @sushicatny - But in your videos you are emphasizing the weight loss aspect of it and encouraging people to lose weight by drinking nothing but water for 30 days. That's really sad and dangerous. Fasting should be done for no longer than 7 days, and even then the first 2 days are for weaning yourself off solid foods and the last day would be reintroducing solid foods. The 'spiritual' feeling you get is the result of starving brain cells.

  • @haha00z - Yes, diabetic shock. That can happen when your blood sugar is so low that you are at risk for going into shock and your body shutting down. It usually starts with dizziness, mood swings, severe weakness, sometimes hallucinations, then you pass out cold. You can die from it.

    That's why they have a version of the water fast called the juice fast. Orange juice is good for that sort of thing. It's not AS pure but it will work.

    It's actually healthy for you. It cleanses your body, in fact i started fasting yesterday. I feel great! you only GAIN weight if you eat alot like before you started fasting. You have to keep a balance to keep your new weight. Im actually feeling great and more energetic. i recommend this to ANYONE! people who have been discouraged by others to fast, dont listen cuz they dont want u to be skinnier!Lol .   • water fasting is unhealthy. you're not getting any nutrients in your body, or anything. you lose muscle mass as well as weight. you gain it all back.

  • That's completely untrue. Fasting allows your body to heal itself while giving your digestive track a break. During this time your body eats fat and unhealthy tissue. Pre-diabetic levels decrease, blood pressure goes down, mental clarity increases. It is a great thing. You just have to be aware of what your body is saying to you and break your fast when your body tells you to.

    Also, after 2 days your body goes into Ketosis, which means it uses your body fat as fuel and saves muscle.

Depriving your body of food for so long is going to cause it to retain everything you put in your mouth from here on out. If you ask me, this was completely counteractive. The only way to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF is to do so healthily.

  • Just not true. If she returns to poor eating habits she will regain the weight. If she breaks the fast properly (slowly) she will be fine. Fasting teaches you a lot about your connection to food. It's more than just weight loss, it's healthy for your body in general. Do some research and base your knowledge on scholarly reports and not just some person (like me) on the internet. You'll be shocked what you find.

  • Waterfasting is definitely NOT a good/healthy way to lose weight. I should know. I've done this for two years; and yes, I lost a lot of weight (30 + kilos in fact) , but once you stop, you'll gain it all back. I have no completely stopped with fasting, and I think I've gained a lot of weight. Kind of depressing.. But at least I'm healthy now, I work out every day, and I have a lot more muscles(during the fasts I had NONE) and ENERGY! If you want to lose weight, you have to EAT and work out. :)

  • Dude, I'm doing weight training and bodybuilding. I'm not fat or anything(ant note: it was over a long period of time). I've basically replaced it with muscles. My point was that waterfasting for weightloss is simply stupid. It is ok to fast once in a while, but not make it a lifestyle.

  • Fasting isn't stupid at all. It can help you learn to eat correctly for as long as your willing to do so. Gaining 'muscles' doesn't mean your eating habits are flawless at all. If anyone has ever lost a significant amount of weight and not improved their diet and habits, they will inevitably gain it right back, including those whom have fasted. As a member of a gluttonous society such as America, this is one thing I am proud to have learned.

  • 30 pounds = 13 kg ;) you do not gain it back because fasting is a change for life... not a momementary "diet"

  • Wow 30 days! I'm on day 7 right now and am getting ready to bag it. I was skinny when i started, and I'm evening skinnier now, but I'm doing it to clear up minor miscellaneous health issues. But a 30 day water fast is incredible Sushicatny .

  • Starving & leading a normal life will prove to be difficult & harmful. Starvation is just that, starving, & your making your body go through hell to keep yourself alive. You might want to look up METABOLIC ACIDOSIS. The smart way to lose weight & keep it off is not easy, but will give you the results you seek. A well-balanced diet with correct serving sizes & regular exercise is what is needed to be healthy & have a body that is lean. Please don't take the easy way out & end up harming yourself.
