  • Nice shredding dude

  • The opening scales sound like I just got a big red mushroom and found a yoshi on super Mario bros, Lol! The rest is fast as hell tho. Props.

  • Slopp-EEE ....but still fun huh?

  • is the seymour duncan invader good for death metal? I play stuff like Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Dying fetus, Deicide, Origin, shit like that. And i need some new pickups. Is the Invader a good match?

  • @VonHendrixTV try a seymour duncan 'blackouts' humbucker or something like that

  • @VonHendrixTV They are really good, for example, as far as I know, Nile uses Invaders a lot, more often than not at least

  • @VonHendrixTV yes man !!! its very good with a lot of distortion, i guess more distortion makes it sound better...

  • @VonHendrixTV the invader works excellent for that style, check it out !!! more distortion make it better

  • qual guitarra tu ta usando? tagima?

  • @alvinho007 é uma Dolphin dos anos 80

  • have you got an Floyd Rose on that strat?

  • There is nothing like a strat, period! I don't care for the sound of gibsons or any of their clones

  • @Iammusic1 i would be in love with strats if they had 24 frets, or a more accesible neck

  • @SHREDDER222X yeah man, it´s true !!! 22 frets would be better too... even 1 fret makes a lot of diference...

  • @bolajunky you misunderstood :P!!!! i said i preffer 24 fretted guitars LOL!!!!!

  • i hate REALLY hate strats. but you rock that shi# bro.

  • @OptomisCrashdown THANKS MAN !

  • What wrong with the guitar in your opinion ? Its a god damn great stratocaster ...

  • Nice. I'd get a better guitar though, just because you deserve it. You probably don't need recomendations or do you?

  • I Just put one of these in the bridge position of my dean vx and it is very quiet compared to the other stock pickup could anyone give me any tips on how to fix it?

  • CChek out the wiring, maybe its done the wrong way...

  • @DeathMetal081

were the stock pickups active pickups? if so then they will be quieter because these are passive pickups. otherwise it could be wired wrong.

  • @DeathMetal081 duncans tend to need to be a LOT closer to the strings, it's right in the specs, i put mine 1/16" closer then spec and they sound deadly, they never had enough volume or tone at the position my old ones were in

  • @DeathMetal081 I note that it is very quiet when used with low distortions on my guitars, it has more response and sounds better when used with more distortion, i guess it was made only for use with a lot of distortion, is very hard to get a good tone with clean sound...

  • @DeathMetal081 If it is wired out of phase, it will have a drastic drop in volume.

  • @DeathMetal081 i know you posted this a while ago but heres some info ne ways.seymour duncan has wiring diagrams on there website, pretty much any combination your using is on there weather you splitting or what ever .the first one i bought had a nasty hum no matter how it was wired, got a new one and it was mint.i am running a 500k vol pot and no tone pot.it deff sounds better with the pick up close to the strings.

  • nice playing man!! 5 stars

  • ok i dont understand one thing. if you have invader on brigde, what are the other two S pickups?

  • One looks like A Noiseless fender pickup, the other a... Seymour Duncan single coil of some kind.

  • in the midle is an Allan Rich pickup, a kind of lace sensor... and on the neck it was a ceramic single coil, very old...

  • good guitar player, good licks man, but you over-shadow the tones that you're demonstrating, the tones of the pick ups, GOOD PLAYER THOUGH! cheers

  • fuck u

  • Shut up, little piece of yellow shit!

  • Comment removed

  • I have a question. I have a Washburn x-series guitar with stock pickups, I am thinking about replacing the bridge with the SH8 Seymour Duncan Invader. should I? I just want a better metal sound for my guitar, and I am not sure what to get.

  • If you use distortion, i guess i should test the invader, it work good with a lot of distortion... but, if you wanna soft distortions, maybe the invader is not re you lokking for...

  • i play with lots and lots of distortion. strictly for metal and metal only

  • i have it now on *Bridge* which has even greater output than the neck, and it works for almost entirely clean, too (well it's a little crunchy)

  • saludos ¡¡you could help me? I want this guitar but not so good are their microphones ... you know? I recommend? and never used this kind of invater duncan

  • .. nice and useless.., just as it should to be.. :)

  • thanks

  • excellent mate!!!!

  • how is there wind in your house??

  • Window? Fan? Aurora borealis?

  • I hear people complain about this p'up. I mean this pickup only has one purpose. Hard Rock/Metal. Anyways. Has anyone tried it with a Jackson Soloist? What neck pickup would help balance out the Invader or at least give variety to sound

  • seymour duncan jazz maybe

  • i use a P90 on the neck on my hollow body guitar, and it works very well with the invader on the brigde... the both pickus working together are beatifull, the bass of p90 mixed with high tones from the invader is a interesting sound... works good with distortion and clean... i try to change the invader for a Gibson 500t on the brigde, and the sound with the necks pickup together was very very more light thatn with using invader

  • Many actually recommend the Seymour Duncan JB. :-)

  • Pepper Keenan of C.O.C. & Down uses the sh-8 invaders in the bridges of his esp.

  • invaders or blackouts for metal, and hard rock?

  • I'd say blackouts for metal, probably invaders for hard rock.

  • lol, but which one can do both well?

  • invaders for sure

  • ivvaders if you prefer passive or blackouts if you prefer active

  • i got the blackouts, and its perfect for heavy distortion and overdrive. great highs and lows, with loadsa gain and a lot of punch.

  • but then again it comes down to the fact

    Active or Passive

    Battery operated or not...

I know, the only passive pickups I would touch for my guitars are bare knuckle pickups...

Yet the only actives i would have is EMG 81/85 or seymour duncan blackouts

  • haha, yea. the blackout i got is the first active i've had. also got a seymour duncan jb but the rest are stocks

  • in my opinion, to operating with bateries is sucks ! that´s one important point you should think about...

you never be sure if its operating with the maximum force that it can work...

  • well thats cause there really the only mainstream active pickups lol

  • What controls are you using? 250k, 500k or one of each?

  • No, i´m not using any tone control, i guess it cause lost of tone... i use the pick up without tone controls to keep short the length of wiring, making the sound more brilhant...

  • I use the old one that was out in '88

  • nice tele!!! custom right??? i might get one for lp copy how do u like them?

  • thats not a tele...

  • lol wow im sorry im...what u would call retarded..lol

  • Thats a strat bud, not a tele. =S

  • forgot to mention that you're playing is kick ass!!! great use of harmonic's and tapping

  • thanks man !

harmonics like that works better with the invader ones, i never get harmonics like that with another pickup, even actives pickus...

  • what kind of strat r u using (I'm guessing custom built), and what r ur pickups besides the invader (i have a similar setup, and I'm wondering what single coil pickups i should put in the mid and neck)?

  • that is a "tunned" stratocaster, a Dolphin one made in brasil, i scalloped its neck a put a HB on the brigde, in this tape i was trying an invader SH8, but today im using a Gibson 500t on the brigde. I suggest you to put a Dimarzio HS-3 on the neck position(the YJM cap),in brasil exists one similar from Cabrera called E-TONE, it was made together with Eduardo Ardanuy, is very cheap and very good (alnico stack...)check out the fabricants site to find the best for you

  • i cant make up my mind, whether to get this of the SH-10 full shred :(

    has anyone compared the two?

  • Yeh i was thinking of getting SH8 for the bridge then SH10 for neck but dno

cos SH10 is shred so not good for neck.

  • usa jackson warriors have that exact set as stock. invader in bridge and full shred in neck position and it sounds amazing.

  • is there really any difference if you put 1 on the neck or bridge?

  • you get a sharper sound on the bridge, but clean sounds better on the neck

  • okay thanks dude

  • I got question...

    what's better

the set of EMG Active 81TW/89 or the invader (neck and bridge)

  • EMG81 sucks, I got a jackson RR24 and it came with one. too hissy

  • they tend to calm down over time dude i thought the same it sounds better these days tho

  • how long u had yours now?

  • bout a yearish none of the claritys gone just the hiss

  • someone's been watching his yngwie malmsteen dvd :D

  • hey, I'm thinking of buying one for the bridge on my jackson, just one thing, are they noisy?

  • No, they are very silent, even with massive distortion, i guess it would be great in a jackson...

  • i got an ibanez gio and im planning on gettin them for my guitar. They sound like a good buy.

  • i got that on a gio ibanez grg, that sounded great, if you play heavy stuff, totally reccomended!

  • what kind of music do you play .. I play metal mostly thrash..

  • I play punk/hardcore , but i would say the sound of my ibanez + invader is better for heavier stuff than the things i usually play (i m playing an hagstrom f200p lately, with p90s pickups)

my ibanez was one of the cheapest models, but with that pickup it sounds way much powerful than lot of other good guitars i tried! If you play trash, i d totally reccomend them! you will get amazing distortion and a fat sound, but the clean channel almost doesnt exist

  • sounds good thanks for the advice!

  • Gonna put one in my Exlporer, are they very punchy and thick sounding?

  • I'm thinking of putting one in my B.C Rich Warlock

on the bridge cos im going for a Synyster gates sorta sound

Would u really reccomend or not?

  • u would like

    active pickups

    such as emg 81, blackout...

  • hey we share the same idea. im putting it on my dean guitar.

  • sn uses invaders. so if u want his sound buy invaders.

  • Great style and technique! Greetings.

  • thanks for the coment !

  • Great style and technic! Greetings.

  • would you reccomend these or the blackouts?

  • Blackouts.

  • sounds killer! one question, how do these pickups sound on a clean channel? cause i was looking for a humbucker to play maninly hard rock and metal on, but i'd also like to be able to play some blues or softer kind of music every once in a while. which humbuckers do you think fulfill this task best?

    thanks and keep rocking!

  • i heard they are nt tht clean but it isnt very noticable im getting a synyster standard and it has both bridge and neck invaders thy r made for metal punck rock ect. put if u hav a push pull tap coil it should be fine

  • I want to put these in my Dean ML-XM.

The stock pickups are alright but the tone is just kind of mediocre.

The other choice was the Dimebucker SH-13, which of course would go well with the guitar.

    Any other suggestions?

  • dude that sounds awesome!!!!!! i was thiking of installing some in my Moser BViT. the stock pickups suck.

  • cool playing. i have a question. i'm gonna upgrade my humbuckers on my laguna LE-122 for a more powerful heavy metal sound and dont know which ones to put in there. so should i go with the seymour duncans or what? please give me your suggestion

  • There´s a lot of good choices if you wanna buy humbuckers pickups, seymour duncan and dimarzio are the best. but i like very much the sound of P-90 pickups

(this model os pickup was used by Tommy Iomi to record the Born Again album) Check it out! it has more body than single coils and the sound is more beatyfull than humbuckers (obs: P-90 are singles too, you will have the hum problems with too much distotion, but nothing you can´t resolve turning the drive knob a litle bit low...)

  • nice to hear that, i wondered what was used on Born Again... I like that sound.

  • i suggest you the Kent Armstrong P-90, it´s very cheap and very expressive... check it out ! but if you can expend a litle bit more, take a Gibson P-90...

  • don´t forget, it´s all a matter of taste... check out the sound of some diferent types of pickups to get your favorite, listen some guys who used that, example:

P-90 pickups: Peter townshend from The Who, Tomi Iomi

    Single Coils: SRV, David Gilmour

    Humbuckers: Slash

    Stacks: YJM

    EMG: Kirk

  • Check out Dimarzio d activators, x2n and distortion models. Or duncan jb or their distortion.

  • take "fucking" out of your title. just makes you look like an idiot. which your not, because that playing was sick

  • hey man ,well done. What bridge are you using?

I need a new bridge for my strato, because i can´t use it without get out of tune!!And that sucks!Would you recommend me one?Cheers.

    Keep on rockin´

  • my briged is from the original Dolphin 1990, i just keep the springs with very litle action, try to do that !

  • cheers

I keep low action but my bridge really sucks!!!!

  • it was just made in Brasil

  • i tried any fucking wiring combination to got this trebly sound with the invader: serial, parallel, out of phase... every diferent type of wiring have a caracteristcal sound, try others wiring combinations with invader, not only the serial(default wiring)

  • thanks for the comments !

I like very much the high tone of the invader, it´s really good for artificial harmonics...

  • would this pickup souund good on a maple body with rosewood fretboard?

  • it sucks... JB rules :)

  • Not a JB fan, as someone on a seymour duncan forum put it, "Cuts like a jalapeno popper fart, and as loose as a retired NYC hooker"

I prefer the Screamin Demon or '59.

  • i just got one of this(and an SH-4 JB) are fucking brutal

  • yeah, that'S not scratch, or not only...

Looks like he's sitting on a balcony of a high house with lot of wind, lol

  • i think if he had a better mic, it wouldnt sound so bad.

  • kinda reminds me of kirk hammet... quick, but hitting a lot of bum notes. go through your scales a bit more, and check out your key changes to.

  • okay dude, first of all that is not an invader pickup, it doesn't even sound that close to one

  • i must agree . got this invader on my ibanez and it doesn't sounds that clean and trebly . it's all about fat and dirty

  • its an invader.

Is yours installed in a maple neck/fretboard, swamp ash bodied guitar? It makes a big difference.

His guitar is bright, the invader is dark, his tone ends up balanced.

  • yes it is, when he moves his picking hand, you can see the larger pole pieces on the bridge pickup

  • nice sweeps man and good choice of pickups what kind of amp are you using?

  • you suck its just fast random shit that sounds like shit

  • its called sweep picking and Id like to see you try it dillweed

  • no shit its sweep pikcing but im jsut saying....playing fast random stuff and scales isnt really skill...it sounds terrible anyway

  • solos are really just scales but yeah it does kinda sound like shit

  • sound nice

  • This isn't art dick weed.

  • what about playing some chords/power chords?

  • REGULAR ...

  • REGULAR ...

  • NIce a 20 second echo, NOT

  • i like how you put fucking in the title

  • personally the SH-6 is actually more punchy and high gain than the SH-8, as you can't do fine adjustments on it, the SH-6 bridge you can put the strings closer to the pickup with the poles than EMG's the SH-6 has high middle while the EMG's have high trebble

  • nice tone man

  • i think the SH-8 are made for playind cool riffs and this stuff!!!you should have played real heavy metal!!\m/

  • You are definitely not posting this video as demo for the pickup. You're just trying to show off your playing. Having said that, it was impressive. But just be straight up man. =p

  • wow. i just picked up neck and bridge of these invaders for an EX-350. god i can't wait.

  • hi man your playing style is absolutely incredible, well I've got a question would you recommend the invader sh-8 for basswood body guitars with a licensed floyd rose?

    thx and cheers

  • i would!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Course, every pickup and guitar sounds that same when you swamp it with so much 80s effects that it muddies to hell on fast sections.

  • how the fuck is their wind in your house?

unless he has a window open

    dosent look like it...

  • atleast this guy has got technique and speed, better than those motherfukers who just jam on tracks, and all we hear is the real guitarist playing, and the shit head amatuer guitarist move his fingers on the fretboard trying to look for where he left his necrotic brain!

  • Crap.

Just cuz you play fast doesn't make it sound good.

  • listen to the solo for statutory ape by the black dahlia murder

  • black dahlia murder suck ass

  • black dahlia murder

sucks so much ass it isnt even funny

  • you suck ass.

  • depends. listen to the entities solo by jfac

  • garbage

  • nice setup man

LOL @ windtunnel comment LMFAO ROFL xDDDDDD

  • are you playing in a fucking wind tunnel?

  • hahaha

  • haha funny

  • Stop criticising you jackasses and do smth with your life!

  • Try to use the invader with other options of wiring, like split one coil, paralell wiring, out of phase wiring, serial(default)... you can see other wirings options at the site... You can get a slim sound or a very fat sound, depending the wiring option...

  • great playin' man and great technique...apparently some jazzy idiots do not aprove of rock :/

but anyways...it does really sound like you're in a damn wind tunel^^

but as i said...great guitar skills

  • I disagree

I belief that skill doesn't equal technique and speed its much more about feeling and hitting the correct phrases at the correct time and not just playing any fast stuff

sry but you're making the priorities!

    (this is just my opinion)

  • your sweep picking is amazing, I just wanted to give you the heads up, if you dont love the invader try the dimarzio X2N (assuming you dont like actives) or at least look it up on here (youtube)

  • this fast stuff is cool but you would be more soulfull slower!

  • i dont know how to use my invader pikup. its reallly annoying wen i try sweeping and playing fast. the strings are always hitting the pikup makind a ton of noise. and if I bring the pickup down i lose killer tone. wat shuld i do?

  • Try adjusting the action. The strings might be too low.

  • TEACH ME HOW TO DO THAT SHIT!

I'm a real noob at guitar, and I wanna pull some awesome stuff. I want my fretboard to be a warzone!

  • the wood of your guitar which is it???

  • man you are very fast, but that is not music, its noise!!

  • stfu guitar n00b lol

  • dude i hope you take this comment seriously

    you kick yngwies malmsteens ass

you can shred like him and you all also have the feel on your bends unlike yngwie

respect in every aspect too you man

  • thanks for the comment !

  • ........................wooo

  • wtf? r u a fukin speed demon or sumthng even with fingers god dude u r sick man SICK!!!! but tht was still kool tho
