@xlazym0nk3yx a dual clutch, to my understanding, utilizes a secondary clutch to spin the forthcoming gear before disengaging the current one, thereby allowing faster transmission of gears (shifting). if anyone knows better, please enlighten us both

Wow what's with all the $hit talk? 135i fwiw is an amazing vehicle especially with a tune. Ifs you're running race gas with an aggressive tune, full bolt ons, you may, MAY come close but won't get a s/c e9x m3, at least not this one but mostly depends on the s/c kit. In the end it's still apples and oranges.

That wasn't launch control mode, that was burn out mode. You should gently put your foot down on the accelerator in order to activate Launch control mode. During launch control mode, your engine won't be bouncing on rev-limiter. The driver stepped on the accelerator very fast activating the Burnout mode.

It's a dual clutch transmission aka M-DCT!!! It is much faster than a manual and you'd really have to be a skilled driver with to launch a 6MT M3 faster than the DCT launch control!!
