The advantage with a Mac is that you buy it, you unpack it, you plug the powercord to it, you start it up, and within 10 minutes you're surfing the web.
For many that is worth the extra cost a Mac has compared to a Hackintosh. :)

I got Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my pc using iBoot + Muiltibeast method, and the system specs of it is i7-930 @ 4ghz, 1tb 7200rpm HDD, 6GB ram @ 2000mhz, Radeon hd 5770 crossfire, ASUS Rampage 3 formula motherboard, so I got Snow Leopard working on an i7 8 threaded CPU running at 4ghz, try getting an iMAC or MAC pro with better specs then that with about $1500, hackintosh all the way :)
I read the Snow Leopard EULA. Nowhere in it does it expressively prohibit installing OS X on none Apple hardware but it does prohibit modification and illegal acquisition of the software which is needed in most cases for building a Hackintosh.

Maybe you can better use Mac4lin or Macbuntu then Hackintosh. Because Linux support your hardware much better then Hackintosh do, beside that is Mac4lin legal and works on most pc's/netbooks etc..
@sn0le, There is no country in the world that a hackintosh is illigal. Linux does not have soundcore for example and other creative stuff.. And there will be allot of terminal use for getting custom stuff going. And..there is no photoshop...
@dalahast06 the thing about linux is that "its made from people for people". thats why its 100% free. there is no photoshop, but there is gimp that is pretty much the same and u can reprogram it if u like and share with other users. linux has tons of creative software and tons of educational ones that dont exist (as a dif version or the same) on any other OS. and linux software can also open any saved file from any OS so u can publish without copyright problems.

I have an Pentium 4 Hackintosh but this is only for fun. I own an i7 iMac first and this thing really rocks and It's save for software updates. It can occur that a Hackintosh won't boot anymore. I must update my legacy kernel too every snow leopard update.

I have 4 gb of DDR3 RAM at 1066 mhz. Mac mini has 2 gb DDR3 at 1066 mhz. I have 9800 gt with 1 gb of ram dedicated for my GPU. Mac mini has the 320m. I have 1,750 gb of HDD space. Mac mini has 320 gb of HDD.

@slipfoot1 there is no "hack", you just use a program to recognize the boot, than u install with the original CD. so there is no logic that it will be slower, specially since most hackintosh users have hardware way better and newer than original macs. take me for example... I got 2 of them (lap and desk), one is recognized as a macbook pro 4.1 with bigger HD than one (Rest is pretty much the same hardware) and desktop is an i7 920 with 8gb 1600mhz ram with a gts 450... cost me around 1400 dolars

@LALOMAN18 not really. My time isn't free. I have a nice dual SSD core i7 hackintosh, and I love it. I also have a 12 core mac pro, which is way faster than my hackintosh. The hackintosh is great for nerds fiddling around at home. I run a business on my mac pro, but there is no WAY I would run a business on a hackintosh. An OSX upgrade can take days. The real Mac "just works". If downtime costs you money then a hackintosh is actually a lot more expensive than a real mac.
@LALOMAN18 e.g 10.5.6 combo update on my mac pro, nice, flawless. On my hackintosh? Crashed RAID array, full reinstall and rebuild (hours...). So the reverse of your argument might be, hackintosh for nerds with no money, real macs for people who have better things to do with their time ;-) just playing devils advocate. What are u talking about... your hackintosh crashes cause ur running a distro.... I made a video running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 RETAIL (Not Distro) on my Asus G2S Gaming Laptop. Its flawless and powerful. Every program runs smoothly, have full graphics + speed. Nerds? More like technology geniuses & not computer illiterates! Now I'm running SL 10.6.5 without any problems, Airport wifi is native as Airport Extreme. So I have 2 computers in one, SL on 1 partition & Win 7 Ultimate 64bit on the other!
The best thing is that I can go into my Windows 7 partition from SL & can change/move/erase/drag n' drop/ etc. any file between OS's & vice versa. I don't have to restart my computer & go into my other OS to grab a file. I can do it just from SL or Win. & NO I'm not using some emulator, virtual program like Fusion, or stupid Bootcamp! I would run my business on all hackintoshes that I created this way, very stable & cheap! Actually running one of my businesses on 2 of my hackintoshes right now!
Unless they want a high-performance, long-term notebook. As of yet few manufacturers can replicate the "sturdiness" that Apple MBPs have at a more "reasonable" price tag.
For the record I have an i7 hackintosh, which is perfectly feasible given that it's a desktop.

I'm a 3D Animator and a Comp Tia A+ Certify Technician, I build computers for customers instead of making them go buy a overprice useless brand like HP, Compaq, Gateway, Mac, Dell, etc... desktops. I know what makes are the best and not. Asus Laptops are among the highest best quality in the world and they prove it with their 'Any fault, warranty' for 2 yrs. Their mobo's are the best among gaming rigs. My laptop is 2yrs old and yet it rated at 5.9 by Windows 7.
Still better than newer laptops today! Plays even the newest games with no problems at high settings, easily overclocked my gpu to the max. Its so versatile and upgradable its not even funny. Its UXGA gorgeous screen just makes it amazing. Its carbon fiber look with sexy red wire speaker cover and brush metal back makes it one of the most beautiful yet still powerful laptops out there! I can even upgrade the cpu to the newest Intel's core 2 Duo 3.4ghz! My girls MBP gpu + mobo broke after 2yrs
Mac products are made in sweatshops overseas! Have you ever opened a useless Macbook Pro? I have many times and laugh about the compact underpowered junk they're made up. No wonder they get so hot. This is a common problem with Mac's. That's why so many have flickering screens, blemishes, crashing, and last about 2 yrs if you lucky. Why do you think so many have AppleCare? lol. I have never taking my pc's nor laptop to any shrink because I know what I buy and what my reliable PC's have inside!

@sn0le I have a Mac and a PC with very similar specs, and adobe cs5 just runs better. Guitar pro glitches on windows. I use mac for audio and video, and I use windows for gaming, and office 2010. I actually am also planning on building a hackintosh too.
@sn0le Yes OS X is way better than windows. PCs have way better specs, and i love to build and work with them, but Macs are very nice. There are some things you can do on a mac that PCs just can 't do. But PCs win!

Well. I had a glance at some screenshots. Looks OK I guess.
Since I haven't tested it I can't really say how close it is to the real deal.
It says it comes with programs that gives you spaces and other OSX features.
But.....
I use Expose alot. Seems like it doesn't have OSX Expose. Windows 7 has nice features for this anyways.
Still.... You can't run OSX software like iMovie, Final Cut, iPhoto etc.

Maybe you can better use Mac4lin or Macbuntu then Hackintosh. Because Linux support your hardware much better then Hackintosh do, beside that is Mac4lin legal and works on most pc's/netbooks etc..

@sn0le, There is no country in the world that a hackintosh is illigal. Linux does not have soundcore for example and other creative stuff.. And there will be allot of terminal use for getting custom stuff going. And..there is no photoshop...

@dalahast06 the thing about linux is that "its made from people for people". thats why its 100% free. there is no photoshop, but there is gimp that is pretty much the same and u can reprogram it if u like and share with other users. linux has tons of creative software and tons of educational ones that dont exist (as a dif version or the same) on any other OS. and linux software can also open any saved file from any OS so u can publish without copyright problems.

In my country any limitations presented after the selling of a product is not valid.

I would be an idiot to waste 2 grand for NOTHING (actually for 2k you could build a pc that has hardware macs cant even handle at 4k). Anyone educated in technology and economics will never buy a mac.

You get exactly what you want/can afford, and you learn about the stuff inside the box (if you don't already know alot about it).
Even my 40 year old sister managed to build her own computer 2-3 years ago.
She had an old Dell, and wanted a new one. I convinced her that it would be better to build herself a computer.
But if one doesn't want to spend time fiddling with the parts, it is better to buy a prebuilt computer.

My Hackintosh has a i7 920 CPU. It's a 4-core CPU.
If I need more power I can choose to take out the i7 920 and buy a i7 980X.
Then I have a 6-core CPU that has alot more processing power.
If I want a better GPU to speed up programs that uses the GPU I can buy a better GPU and change it my self.
I can have 8 harddrives internally in my computer. Configure them in RAID for increased read/write performance.
Only the Mac Pro can do that, for 2x the price of my rig.

Ive hackintoshed many machines (meaning I have installed leopard on IBM clones)
and I have built 2 Hackintoshes from scratch one is a dual core celeron & the other is a CORE 2 Quad I love both my machines; I love the Core 2 quad more.
I almost forgot what M$ windows look like lol. but now I run Win Xp & Win 7 inside of snow Leo which is not very often at all. I like not having to worry about blue screens & I cant even remember the last time I had a virus. dont ridicule me. ;)

I have an Pentium 4 Hackintosh but this is only for fun. I own an i7 iMac first and this thing really rocks and It's save for software updates. It can occur that a Hackintosh won't boot anymore. I must update my legacy kernel too every snow leopard update.

That true, but even if allinone PCs are rising , over 80% of non portable PCs are "Normal" , non allinone PCs. Apple does opposite, has over 90% allinones.
Beside the Allinone Apple Hype its mostly by the price, the most reason MacPro are very less ordered compared to iMac and MacMini.
An MacProLight (normal Qaud CPU, no server Mainboard, less highend Case) for less than 1100 euro would make sense. But not in sight - therefore hackintoshs.

My ihack (hackintosh comparable to a imac) costed me 550 bucks while the mac mini costs about 700 bucks. I have i3-530 2.93 ghz. Mac mini has c2d at 2.4 ghz (I think). I have 4 gb of DDR3 RAM at 1066 mhz. Mac mini has 2 gb DDR3 at 1066 mhz. I have 9800 gt with 1 gb of ram dedicated for my GPU. Mac mini has the 320m. I have 1,750 gb of HDD space. Mac mini has 320 gb of HDD.
So that's why you should hackintosh.

@slipfoot1 there is no "hack", you just use a program to recognize the boot, than u install with the original CD. so there is no logic that it will be slower, specially since most hackintosh users have hardware way better and newer than original macs. take me for example... I got 2 of them (lap and desk), one is recognized as a macbook pro 4.1 with bigger HD than one (Rest is pretty much the same hardware) and desktop is an i7 920 with 8gb 1600mhz ram with a gts 450... cost me around 1400 dolars

Apple states "This software should not be installed on 'NON-Branded' hardware!" They don't own Intel, nor the hard drive that comes in every Mac, nor the Samsung memory or GPU! Mac uses PC hardware cause its the best. So if u slapped a branded 'Apple Logo" on your PC or laptop, u have just branded it as an Apple product. That means ur running SL or any other OS X on kick ass PC hardware which makes it a way better computer, stability wise! I made a video of my Asus G2s running OS X Snow Leopard!

@LALOMAN18 not really. My time isn't free. I have a nice dual SSD core i7 hackintosh, and I love it. I also have a 12 core mac pro, which is way faster than my hackintosh. The hackintosh is great for nerds fiddling around at home. I run a business on my mac pro, but there is no WAY I would run a business on a hackintosh. An OSX upgrade can take days. The real Mac "just works". If downtime costs you money then a hackintosh is actually a lot more expensive than a real mac.

So the reverse of your argument might be, hackintosh for nerds with no money, real macs for people who have better things to do with their time ;-) just playing devils advocate. I love both, they each have a place depending on what the user "expects". For me personally UPTIME is far more important than performance, in that respect Hackintosh is just a toy

What are u talking about... your hackintosh crashes cause ur running a distro.... I made a video running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 RETAIL (Not Distro) on my Asus G2S Gaming Laptop. Its flawless and powerful. Every program runs smoothly, have full graphics + speed. Nerds? More like technology geniuses & not computer illiterates! Now I'm running SL 10.6.5 without any problems, Airport wifi is native as Airport Extreme. So I have 2 computers in one, SL on 1 partition & Win 7 Ultimate 64bit on the other!

The best thing is that I can go into my Windows 7 partition from SL & can change/move/erase/drag n' drop/ etc. any file between OS's & vice versa. I don't have to restart my computer & go into my other OS to grab a file. I can do it just from SL or Win. & NO I'm not using some emulator, virtual program like Fusion, or stupid Bootcamp! I would run my business on all hackintoshes that I created this way, very stable & cheap! Actually running one of my businesses on 2 of my hackintoshes right now!

I'm a 3D Animator and a Comp Tia A+ Certify Technician, I build computers for customers instead of making them go buy a overprice useless brand like HP, Compaq, Gateway, Mac, Dell, etc... desktops. I know what makes are the best and not. Asus Laptops are among the highest best quality in the world and they prove it with their 'Any fault, warranty' for 2 yrs. Their mobo's are the best among gaming rigs. My laptop is 2yrs old and yet it rated at 5.9 by Windows 7.

Still better than newer laptops today! Plays even the newest games with no problems at high settings, easily overclocked my gpu to the max. Its so versatile and upgradable its not even funny. Its UXGA gorgeous screen just makes it amazing. Its carbon fiber look with sexy red wire speaker cover and brush metal back makes it one of the most beautiful yet still powerful laptops out there! I can even upgrade the cpu to the newest Intel's core 2 Duo 3.4ghz! My girls MBP gpu + mobo broke after 2yrs

Mac products are made in sweatshops overseas! Have you ever opened a useless Macbook Pro? I have many times and laugh about the compact underpowered junk they're made up. No wonder they get so hot. This is a common problem with Mac's. That's why so many have flickering screens, blemishes, crashing, and last about 2 yrs if you lucky. Why do you think so many have AppleCare? lol. @sn0le I have a Mac and a PC with very similar specs, and adobe cs5 just runs better. Guitar pro glitches on windows. I use mac for audio and video, and I use windows for gaming, and office 2010. I actually am also planning on building a hackintosh too.
