I liked the whole, "this product has been designed for everyone in the group to learn together thing" but I'm afraid that may be an old rebuttal from the eighties or something. Kinda like solving a problem before it becomes one..... A cover up perhaps? Nevertheless, still an interesting interview and I still love the realms.

You guys can continue the old lore if you want to, nothing is stopping you. If you're only playing RPGA sanctioned adventures it's a new campaign anyway, and if you're using your old characters refitted for 4th ed, you're creating your own campaigns, so just use the old lore. It's a game.

I can sort of see where you're coming from. The 3.5 came so fast after 3rd edition and now it's 4th.. made me think at least that all the books we bought should just be tossed to the pyre or library to collect dust next to 1st ed AD&D books.

Guess it is still good that someone is doing new stuff, even if they change it profoundly. But new editions every few years making old versions pretty much absolete.. not sure how to feel about that.

A major part of RPlaying is to use ur own imagination and create things yourself.

What's so hard about cannibalizing prepackaged worlds into something you do like? I don't think i've ever played with anyone that doesn't do that..

You know I have been thinking about the realms for sometime now. My group had a game going so we didn't get the setting. Now that it is over I wanted to get Realms products. This 4e is nothing but shit. I wont buy it or into it. Fuck you Bruce. FUCK YOU! I hope the realms fail now.

Part of what drew me to the Realms was the fact that they were so detailed. And now they do this to cater to people that are new to the setting?! Why?! If people have been managing figure out "that there's 3 dragons in that forest" for more than 20 years why the hell would that be a problem for those that will come in the future? God forbid they should read something and put in an iota of effort to see how great the realms actually are..err were, sorry.
