The Community Gaming Development Corporation (CGDC) has refused to give us a copy of the complaint made against our organization. Also, the CGDC board has not yet met to discuss the issue so there are no minutes to review. It's clear that the Gaming board did not follow the required process for suspending a lottery/bingo license (as stated in By-law 185-2000).
The three people who made a delegation to Council on behalf of the FOCB were terrific (Bob Lund, Jerry Pequeen, and Paul Lewis). The mayor tried to cut them off as soon as they mentioned their concern about the letter FOCB received from Russ Wilson saying our organization can no longer use lottery/bingo funds. However, our guys did not allow themselves to be bullied by the mayor.

It's too bad that people who make wild-assed judgments about "bingo money mis-use" have no idea how bingo
revenue is allocated and handled. Here is how it works: The bingo/lottery money is kept in a separate fund and there are two
different accountings: one for the General Funds of the organization and another for the lottery/gaming funds. There are very
strict rules as to how lottery money is used. All that is spelled out in the rules for those receiving gaming funds.

The Friends of Crystal Beach is merely standing up for what certain of its members took part in: The
award-winning Crystal Beach Neighbourhood Plan of 2005. The organization is not using bingo funds in that
stand. The bingo license suspension is part of the town's effort to punish those who have stood against the
Molinaro Project.
