i noticed you managed to capture that creepy half grin morticians always put on their dead people.... before they shrink the dead people down into dwarfs, dress them like jawas & ship them off to a red planet!
Great sculpture, I have been thinking somewhat recently about trying this in the future. I have been into 3d design but this is really cool and its actually tangible. Nice work!
What are you building the sculpture on top of? Looks like a styrafoam armature. Did you make it yourself or did you buy it? If you bought can you point me in the right direction?
Well, it depends on the size of the armature you decide to sculpt on. In this case, it was a thin sculpt so I used around 4, 1 lb. blocks of chavant clay. Some larger projects could require 10 or even more.
Watched yet again casue its just that cool, I have to say making a mold of a face is very intresting stuff for sure :) but i do love your scuptures :)

Your right, I feel the same way, I thinks it's really weird myself. I wouldnt want to go to pick a coffin for a loved one and then find that they are displaying fake bodies to show the coffins. But I guess whatever floats their boat.
Why did the funeral home commisssion this please ? I am a sculptor,and might be able to do similar things for local funeral homes.
