of course phantom hourlglass was superb and im sure spirit tracks will be as good as phantom hourglass if not better, but handheld games just dont pack as great a punch

It will be a spin off to Twilight and it will be in a whole new land but including the previous map. Now i CANT confirm it but my resorces where pretty solid. You see link dance in subrosia in OoS, or was it OoA? Anyways... As it is rumoured to to be 2 new games for wii... perhaps they are remakes of OoS/OoA.
For one, look at all the speculation before Wind Waker.
We hoped so much for a realistic GC Zelda, but got Wind Waker instead (which I actually enjoyed and am thinking of re-purchasing).
Then, TP was overhyped and when it came out, no one found it as good as they'd imagined.
While I liked TP, I find it to be too timid of a game. No real innovation. And A LOT of graphical issues, mainly the fact that there are natually occuring hard edges in the world. (wtf?)
There wasn't one single Zelda game out there (not counting CD-I) that was bad. Actually, non of them ever got an overall score below 8.0. Wind Waker was an incredible game and everyone who bought it thought the same, so there wasn't any disappointment there since everything else compressed the graphic change. And TP, although having graphical issues, is one of the most realistic games available for the Wii, and you can't expect much more from the Console. And TP was also critically acclaimed.
I know this'll go against the grain. But I'd far prefer to wait for a classic Zelda game every 4-5 years than them turn out something rushed and crap. I don't think if they do release a new one for the wii it'll be lousy, but I can't help thinking that it wouldn't be OOT great. Not to be a pessimist of course!
oh finally someone who talks sense i would rather a zelda game be 3-4 years in the making and for them to be perfect long games that takes weeks of gameplay to finish 100% rather than some 4 dungeon train riding crap. i originally hated wind waker but i love it now. i dont think ill ever say the same about thomas the tank engine meets zelda. The thing about Zelda is that, unlike Mario, it stays to it's roots. An action adventure game. Mario on the other hand has so many spinoffs, It's hard to count.
But, with the sole exception of Link's Crossbow Training, Zelda has had none. Just 14 of the best games ever plus the three CD-i shits.
As secretive as Nintendo has been, a lot of effort must be going into this (or these) Zelda games. Hopefully they do turn out to be incredible, otherwise they will have a lot of disappointed fans.

if you ask me, maybe the dancing link shows us the music thamed item in the game, like in all zelda game instrument play a smal role, maybe this time link gets some dancing shoes, there is a story about shoes which make you dance, it seems to me like link is looking at the shoes,and there are also some kinda music playing, so dancing shoes = the next ocarina of time-ish item

The thing about Zelda is that, unlike Mario, it stays to it's roots. An action adventure game. Mario on the other hand has so many spinoffs, It's hard to count.
But, with the sole exception of Link's Crossbow Training, Zelda has had none. Just 14 of the best games ever plus the three CD-i shits.

yea really, the only things I missed in twilight was a magick flute, and the lack of magick spells.
The dancing crap reminds me of danicing in GTA san andreas, when I got to that part I literally took the game out of the machine and tossed it out the window.

all console zelda games so far have had a sequel except (at the moment) twilight princess (and four swords adventure was the sequel in a way).
maybe the ds game will be the sequel to tp just like links awakening and phantom hourgalss.

yeah. i "think" Theres 2 Zelda games comming in 2009/2010.
i hope they put the Original and a Link to the past as minigames in "The NEW ZELDA" (OoT and MM TOO!!!). probably a new sequel or possibly a WW sequel (moving the Wiimote as the Wind Waker, Nice idea, huh?).

A badass well-made Wii Zelda game has the power to erase the belief that Nintendo is no longer caring for their gamers.
We really don't know what the shell this game is going to be about now.

I think that 2 zeldas are indeed being produced, I believe that DS Zelda would be released in late 2009 and wii Zelda probably in mid 2010(and knowing Nintendo with delays) late 2010

if you ask me, maybe the dancing link shows us the music thamed item in the game, like in all zelda game instrument play a smal role, maybe this time link gets some dancing shoes, there is a story about shoes which make you dance, it seems to me like link is looking at the shoes,and there are also some kinda music playing, so dancing shoes = the next ocarina of time-ish item

The Mario DDR was made by Konami too so it's not truly a Nintendo game. If it was...I'm scarred for life. And Nintendo doesn't need to make anymore sequels to Wind Waker. Nice work on all the info. We're getting closer to the thruth of the game (and unfortunately, the end of this series)!
