How in the world can a white guy have the perfect face for a character of Arabic decent? This is like saying that Bruce Willis has the perfect face to play Blade. I loved this film :) even though it was a bit cheesy in some parts I thought the plot was quite good. I have the sands of time video game on the Wii so it was interesting to see how the film was similar and how it differed from the game

I am surprised that this movie only made around 60 million dollars in the US. This movie is more fun to watch than Iron Man 2 and Shrek 4. I am tried of people saying it's the new Pirates of Caribbean or Indiana Jones. It's so much of it's own. It's the only best thing from Disney of the last few years. I give it a 9/10.

One point I've yet to see anyone make concerning the "he's white not Persian" controversy, is that the prince was found as an orphan before he became a prince, so there's wiggle room for a hidden backstory. Persia had conquered lands far enough North that they had white slaves, thus Dastan's parents could have easily been Southern European slaves. There. If you're dumb enough to get hung up on the color of his skin, I just gave you the rationalization your retarded fucking brain needed.

@RobMusicJunkie I totally had no problems with the dialogue! I loved the movie so much! I've seen it twice already and I am working on getting my mom to go too. I loved how Jake and Gemma were kind of mocking me and even though some of the stuff the Sheik said seemed a little out of place, I loved the dialogue, the action, and the romance and chemistry. I don't know what that chicks problem was in the vid.

If you want dark though, and they make a sequel based on warrior within...then yeah, i'd suddenly not be wanting to be the prince xD
It did bother me that Hollywood still wont take a chance and cast Non-White actors. I mean Bollywood is really big, you would think Hollywood would cash in on it by now. Especially after SlumDog.
But the movie was alright. There were many areas where they could have done better in. The was inbalance in acting skill. I think they could have easily done better if they spent just a little more time on the script and believablility.

I really enjoyed Prince of Persia and would recommend it to anyone....to complain that a movie patterned after a video game is not historically authentic seems kind of silly, especially since we don't have any big-name Iranian actors. (Now Angelina Jolie playing a black woman in a biographical movie when there are tons of other black actresses available is slightly more annoying)

OMG I love you for suggesting Hrithik because he would have actually been amazing in this film and as for the leading lady, take your pick of bolly beauties. I would have chosen Preity Zinta. BUT, Jake did a good job and had pretty good good timing and looked really good. Thats what 6 pounds of muscle does for you =). It was a decent movie and worth the watch. Will it be like POTC? Ehh, probably not. Does it deserve a sequel? I think it does, at least to up its potential. Thanks for the vid!

8.5 Even though it didnt tie to the game very much and For a movie that is titled, the sands of time with hardly any time traveling I tohught it was an excellent movie, I think this is the first game-to-movie that is actually quite awesome. I recommend that everyone should at least watch it once and video game and action buffs should buy it when it realses on dvd. The movie was exciting when it needed to be, and the sad, and intense scene were balanced by the romantic and humerous ones.
The movie was kinda bland and stuff, half the time, i didnt know what the plot was, altho the props and acting+the humor was pretty nice. The only good twist was at the end, which was also kind of pointless cuz it was like a dream, he flew back in time and prevented all the mass slaughtering to happen

8/10 Even though the writing, directing or maybe even acting may have fallen short at times it does put together a good entertaining story, in extremely action oriented manner.
One of them is a part where they both kiss eachother AS they're racing to stop the villian from destroying the world or whatever. And the most ridiculous part in the movie is toward the end where he's hanging on to her and she tells him to let her go because its the only was to save the world, and she yells and screams while she's falling after telling him to let her go...I had a good laugh at that part..my rating is a 2.5/5
I'd like to write one sentence but I cant -_- I'm amazed people liked this movie that much. This movie was ok at best. But The acting in this movie or should I say the dialogue in this movie was complete shit. There were so many WTF moments in this move, and for the first time I laughed at scenes that were not suppose to be humorous.
What most people don't seem to understand is, the casting director could cast a Persian actor, but they might not be as good as another actor. Also, a lot of it depends on the director. If an actor doesn't fit the director's vision, he obviously won't cast them.
Now, in my opinion, the movie was good, as was the acting and score. It didn't fit the canon, but in and of itself, it was a good movie.
Oh, and, based on Aladdin? Check the first PoP game. A lot of Aladdin-like themes.

With a script this bad it's hard to differentiate between bad acting and bad lines, but suffice it to say I was never under the impression that I was watching actual human beings with understandable traits and motivations. 1 out of 5. The game, however, gets a 5 out of 5, a true rarity.
If you've played the game this movie's based on (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - 2003), then you'd know that the Prince of Persia is SUPPOSED to be a white guy.
Ok I have not played the game so I don't know how relevant it is in the game, But in the Movie the Character of Dastan is an Orphan which means we don't know where his lineage is from. He could have been the child of some Europeans who were visiting Persia and were killed leaving Dastan and orphan on the streets. Just my 2 cents.

I loved how Jake and Gemma were kind of mocking me and even though some of the stuff the Sheik said seemed a little out of place, I loved the dialogue, the action, and the romance and chemistry. I don't know what that chicks problem was in the vid.

@Reaping21 Actually, the ending was sort-of similiar but left things open. It ended on a reasonably pleasant note, but by no means an ultimate happy ending or anything.
If you want dark though, and they make a sequel based on warrior within...then yeah, i'd suddenly not be wanting to be the prince xD

It did bother me that Hollywood still wont take a chance and cast Non-White actors. I mean Bollywood is really big, you would think Hollywood would cash in on it by now. Especially after SlumDog.
But the movie was alright. There were many areas where they could have done better in. The was inbalance in acting skill. I think they could have easily done better if they spent just a little more time on the script and believablility.
The Parkour was good though. Would like to see more wall runs

all ive got to say, is that if you've played the games and are true fans of the series. this movie was awesome. You can catch little bits of the game that were put into the film and i thought that was really cool. I'm sorry, but I don't necessarily take this review seriously, because there is an old lady saying she was bored.. this clearly isnt her type of film

I really enjoyed Prince of Persia and would recommend it to anyone....to complain that a movie patterned after a video game is not historically authentic seems kind of silly, especially since we don't have any big-name Iranian actors. (Now Angelina Jolie playing a black woman in a biographical movie when there are tons of other black actresses available is slightly more annoying)

OMG I love you for suggesting Hrithik because he would have actually been amazing in this film and as for the leading lady, take your pick of bolly beauties. I would have chosen Preity Zinta. BUT, Jake did a good job and had pretty good good timing and looked really good. Thats what 6 pounds of muscle does for you =). It was a decent movie and worth the watch. Will it be like POTC? Ehh, probably not. Does it deserve a sequel? I think it does, at least to up its potential. Thanks for the vid!

8.5 Even though it didnt tie to the game very much and For a movie that is titled, the sands of time with hardly any time traveling I tohught it was an excellent movie, I think this is the first game-to-movie that is actually quite awesome. I recommend that everyone should at least watch it once and video game and action buffs should buy it when it realses on dvd. The movie was exciting when it needed to be, and the sad, and intense scene were balanced by the romantic and humerous ones.

The only good twist was at the end, which was also kind of pointless cuz it was like a dream, he flew back in time and prevented all the mass slaughtering to happen

One of them is a part where they both kiss eachother AS they're racing to stop the villian from destroying the world or whatever. And the most ridiculous part in the movie is toward the end where he's hanging on to her and she tells him to let her go because its the only was to save the world, and she yells and screams while she's falling after telling him to let her go...I had a good laugh at that part..my rating is a 2.5/5

What most people don't seem to understand is, the casting director could cast a Persian actor, but they might not be as good as another actor. Also, a lot of it depends on the director. If an actor doesn't fit the director's vision, he obviously won't cast them.
Now, in my opinion, the movie was good, as was the acting and score. It didn't fit the canon, but in and of itself, it was a good movie.
Oh, and, based on Aladdin? Check the first PoP game. A lot of Aladdin-like themes.

I enjoyed the movie. it was worth my money, but was it great....eh... not so much. The actions scenes were cool, but didnt live up to the hype that the trailers gave them. and it seems like they spent alot of effort on the first attack scene on the city than any other part of the movie. Also, i am a huge fan of the games, and i liked how they tried to include things you had to do in the games to move the character around in the movie, but still, it didnt live up to what the game put out.

With a script this bad it's hard to differentiate between bad acting and bad lines, but suffice it to say I was never under the impression that I was watching actual human beings with understandable traits and motivations. 1 out of 5. The game, however, gets a 5 out of 5, a true rarity.

Ok I have not played the game so I don't know how relevant it is in the game, But in the Movie the Character of Dastan is an Orphan which means we don't know where his lineage is from. He could have been the child of some Europeans who were visiting Persia and were killed leaving Dastan and orphan on the streets. Just my 2 cents.
