the song isnt so much about being on drugs per se.. its really a take on our current over-stimulated culture, how everyone is hyped up on one thing or another, be it technology (iphones etc) fast paced/ synthetic society.. over indulgent music etc.. its more about current society then just drugs.. drugs is a great metaphor. anyway thats more or less how River Cuomo explained it himself. watch the official video for the song, you'll see what I mean. great video here too.
