  • Corinthians 13 "The Way of Love". It's not just a poem, it is a section of the Holy Bible.

  • I can't believe that we are in 2011 and same sex couples still can't get married:/

  • @moonricecake I'm not sure what video you were watching, this wasn't 'beautiful'. Did you actually watch the video, most of these people are terribly ugly.

  • Eeew

    Queers

  • This is absolutely beautiful, and shows that love is beyond gender. So simple but so true.

  • This made me cry...

  • I still love these verses. Real power and Beauty.

  • that last gay couple was sexy

  • Come listen to my poem-Medicine Bundle-written 2 decades ago- addresses this topic

  • Im not gay, but I'm totally a supporter of gay marriage. I don't see what's so bad about it. What's wrong with people being in love getting married? America is supposed to give EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN rights, why are gays left out? Homophobia sucks!

  • This is beautiful, really...no matter if you're talking about a same-sex or traditional marriage. It just goes to show that love really is the same no matter what type of relationship you look at.

  • I love this poem. It's language was so beautiful and its message is truely uplifting

  • @TheFreethinker1986 It's from the Bible--1 Corinthians 13.

  • I almost threw up watching this, especially at 1:27.Thats not true love.True love is between a man and woman.Gay marriage will bring the whole world down. The Bible specifically mentions homosexuality as sin. Did anyone know that pastors could be accused of hate crimes just for saying that homosexuality goes against Gods principles? Im so sik and tired of these darn homos gettin in our faces. dont take away our freedom to religion.its a sin and anyone inspiring people to be gay are liars.

  • @andrewiscool100able The bible also mentions that eating crustaceans like shrimp and crab to be a sin, unless it meant something else by calling it an abomination, and having gay marriage doesn't take away religious freedom. It just means that you would have to learn to cope with openly homosexual couples. Do you think you could at least be tolerant? They aren't asking heterosexuals to stop getting married. By the way, I am not homosexual, but I support all people rights. DBAD, dude. DBAD.

  • @callidad Yeah I know youre referring to being selfish. The ones being selfish are the gays.Kids in Massachusetts were forced to learn of it in school and the parents had no right to object according to a judge. This is about preserving marriage not hate. They dont seem to care how they are affecting the family structure.

  • @andrewiscool100able Here is what you like eh dip shit:

"Ventura County prosecutors charged a 14-year-old boy with the shooting death of a gay classmate Thursday and said the killing in an Oxnard classroom was a premeditated hate crime.

The classmate who shot dead Lawrence King, was heard calling Lawrence FAGGOT and QUEER, and the shooter himself is a victim of homphobic HATE"

I choose for my kids to learn TOLERANCE Bible THUMPER

  • @fitasafiddle123 That is sad but and the person responsible for it should be punished with the law. But I had heard that this student asked the boy to be his "Valentine". But still it is heartbreaking and I sincerely feel for his family. Do us a favor stop saying that being gay is okay because look at what happens to them. Instead inspire them about God.

  • @andrewiscool100able Sad? But you would have called him a AND I QUOTE,

    "PERVERT"

Tell Billy Lucas's Parents who recently lost their teen son because he was GAY and kids at school..(who btw, you would have taught to call Billy a PERVERT) called him FAG and QUEER.

I will indeed work HARDER for gay rights and it is YOU that should shut up with your GOD DAM HOLIER THAN THOU BULLSHIT!

  • @andrewiscool100able Oh and ANDREW, I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus

21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

  • @andrewiscool100able A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an

abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I

don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

  • @andrewiscool100able Btw ANDREW, who taught Brandon (the teen who shot Lawrence DEAD) to be SO full of homophobic hate huh? Who taught him to use terms like FAGGOT and BUTT PIRATE or QUEER? Huh?

And yes, Lawrence's crime was that he asked another boy to be his Valentine....

OH MY GOD, THE HUMANITY....ISNT THAT AWFUL!!!??... that someone asked another to be his Valentine? Yeah, better go get a gun and blow an innocent kids head off!

    pfft

  • @fitasafiddle123 No that was completely wrong of him to shoot him. What he shouldve done was told on him. If some gay student came on to me I would go to the office and report it because now its a form of sexual harassment when a member of the same sex actually hits on you. This guy who shot him deserves to be punished but you are making it seem like its the people that try to get people on the right track like its their fault.

  • @andrewiscool100able Yes but you say that gays are perverted, so this teen, according to what YOU said, should have been calling Lawrence a pervert!? Your words ANDREW!

See how blind you are to your own hypocrisy?

  • @andrewiscool100able Who taught Brandon to HATE gays Andrew? Huh?

It CERTAINLY was not me? But wait, you referred to gays as PERVERTED, the same words, i am sure FAG BASHERS use, when beating the hell out of gays??!!

  • @andrewiscool100able Oh and 'preserving Marriage"??? OF COURSE, Marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all: women are property, matches are arranged in childhood, blacks can't marry whites, Catholics can't marry Jews, divorce is illegal, and adultery is punishable by death...pfft

  • @andrewiscool100able How are they affecting family? I haven't seen anybody behave differently just by learning what homosexuality is. In fact, I have a friend that grew up with two fathers and sed friend is perfectly normal and has a happy life like any other normal person. Also, no, I am not saying you are selfish... okay, mebbe just a leeettle bit, but honestly, you just seem to be afraid of difference and change, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's perfectly human and 100% normal.

  • @callidad FYI I am 0% selfish pal.The gays are 100% selfish and as a former homosexual I have experienced the emptiness it provides.I am ashamed that i was ever interested in that lifestyle but not anymore. To me this is all about gays and what they want not what kids want.I want to protect kids from being taught of this lifestyle cuz I dont want any child to experience the emptiness I endured. Ask other former gays and they will tell you the exact same thing.

  • @andrewiscool100able Well, I think "former homosexuals" are really just brainwashed by extremists who are afraid of homosexuality because they just don't know how to deal with it. I am not trying to start an argument with you, anyway. I am simply voicing my opinion, listening to yours and giving you my honest response. Secondly, you can't say what kids do and don't want to learn because one, it depends on how they were raised, and two, they don't know either. They have no knowledge of the world.

  • @callidad No they are not brainswashed at all. They saw the ugly reality of the lifestyle because it isnt some fairytale lifetsyle most people make it out to be. Do you believe in God? God saved those people from it. yes there are some gays and lesbians do have the so called good life but true happiness is the marriage of man and woman. Marriage is a covenant between a man and woman that is not to be tampered with. Former gays like me were touched by God and this comes from a former gay himself.

  • @andrewiscool100able [reading]..........................[staring].................................. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, but you are talking to a non-god believer. I couldn't help myself. But seriously, marriage isn't even necessary. That doesn't mean it should be exclusive. Also, are you sure you were "touched by God", because I think he has more important things to do than heal gays since this planet is so screwed right now. Plus, I just think you reject that side because you are afraid.

  • @andrewiscool100able I am a Lesbian. I cannot imagine living the whole of my life with a man. Growing up Chatholic, i knew i was different, i tried to be attracted to men. I could not, and my efforts only left me as empty as you say you once felt. Once i accepted who i was and learned to love this part of me i felt myself whole for the first time ever. But that is only my experiance, i am glad you have found your peace, but please, do not judge our lifestyle because you do not aggree with it

  • @TheFreethinker1986 I dont want to make anyone feel like theyre rejected. I respect your opinions and choices but I will continue to fight for religous freedoms. I want to make you feel like you have equal rights but I ask that we not be labeled as a bunch of haters just for saying "marriage is b/w a man and woman".

  • @andrewiscool100able Religous/spiritual Marriage means different things to people of varied beliefs. civil marriage is the same throughout, it is a licence, a contract nothing more. I personally dont think a church should be forced to perform gay marriages but i do think it's a shame that they dont. it only serves to create conflict in those who have strong beliefs in god, but also want equal rights for all. the church could end up pushing people away instead of embracing them

  • @TheFreethinker1986 There are churches that allow same sex marriages. That is completely ironic that they do that, its hypocritical. I want to go to a church where the family values are not tampered with. Homosexuality is a sin and goes against Gods Word. I read the Bible and I also found out the hard way.

  • @TheFreethinker1986 I had a counselor that tried to help me overcome homosexuality. I had a teacher that actually told me being gay is okay. When I look back, there was a much better feeling from my couselor than from the teacher. the teacher lied to me but my counselor told me the truth, that if I kept going down the lifestyle I would only hurt myself and my parents even more. there are families out there that want a church that sets good examples not bad ones, therefore they will attract peopl

  • @andrewiscool100able I do not presume to know your life or your experiances growing up, but it must not have been easy for you. as i said before i am glad you have found peace, but you must understand, your teacher did not lie. It is okay to be Gay. My family and i have grown much closer since my coming out and i have found friends that accept and love me for who i am. Maybe i am lucky, but i have yet to cause hurt to myself or others simply because i am a lesbian

  • @andrewiscool100able all i mean by my statement, is that there are many gay AND religious people out there. having the church reject them because of something they see as a gift from god is devistating and only serves to push them away from their god. Yes there are people who would appreicate a church that opposes gay people, but with every generation, their population slowly declines. the churches that embrace gays bring people closer to god by opening their hearts not closing their doors

  • @TheFreethinker1986 i totally agree with you, i have the same story as you have had, its not a choice that we make to be gay, we are born gay, we just choose not to fight ourselves against who we are, people should understand that, i wish you all the best for your future :) and god is proud of you for who you are, and that is perfect!!! :)

  • This video was one of the best I have ever seen. I support 100% Sadly here in Florida we had Amendment 2 which unfortunately passed. I am hoping that someday that will change. I hope that someday Gay Marriage will be legalized everywhere.

  • Let me be the first to say thank you so much for uploading this beautiful, touching and inspiring video opposing to Prop 8. I'm extremely against it and love is just love, period, regardless of gender (I'm 100% openly gay and I've had my share of arguments with these half-assed Christians who are always against me for being me, but FUCK THEM! I don't give a flying crap what negative things they way about me). 60 stars and added to my playlist :-)

  • amazing how many people missed the "like" button above.

I wonder if those who voted yes on prop 8 for religious reasons realize that this poem is from the bible, not tampered with or altered to delete references to men and women, husbands and wives, but simply left as is and read aloud by people in love.

why would someone not like this?

  • While I personally voted no against prop 8 and I personally want equality for all(whatever "all" means), I wonder if most people against prop 8 want "equality" or "acceptance."

Equality for all meaning a state of existence of things being equal for "all"(whatever all means to you)

Or do people want 8 to fail so they can be "accepted" Meaning letting this group have what another groups has. Once group A has what group B has, then that's it. Not wanting equality but to simply be let in.

  • Wow. I am shocked there is so much negativity spurned by something that is really and truly all about love. This makes me very sad. Jesus would be sad. Jesus spread peace. Jesus spread love. He gave love and acceptance to those who were ostracized by society. It's so upsetting that hate and judgement is used in his name. I can't co-exist in this world with this kind of hate and ignorance. Why get so upset about two people falling in love? How does it effect you? What if you had to hide the l

  • @assyruabmaster and @nothanksbby listen i have argued with fucking christian/mormon idiots since the dawn of time. i live in mormonville utah. tell them whatever you want, no matter how reasonable what you say is and how retarded what they say is, for them nothing can change what they believe because they always have "god" to support them.

@yourboyken YOU AND ALL YOU OTHER FUCKING CHRISTIANS SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! GOD DOESNT EXIST WHY DONT YOU GET THAT??!? GAY PEOPLE ARE FINE NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • @Assyrianmaster Yes it is America and that is why im practicing my freedom of Speach wich you are trying to infringe on, i didnt bring religion into it you did furthurmore the bible clearly states not to be a fag so dont do it, AND i didnt judge any of the faggots God will do that on Judgment day.

I dont need to read a Fag Porn Magazine to know whats inside, if i see mans dick entering another mans ass and cum dripping off the leg your damn right i know whats inside the book idiot so obvious

  • This is about God's love toward humanity, not human love toward other humans. I have nothing against any couple or person, heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transgendered, transexual, asexual, pansexual, demisexual, etc. (sorry if I forgot anything), but this is a common misconception on this section in the Bible.

  • It is not our choice to be GAY. We were born this way! And if we lie about or sexuality and pretend that we are straight, we end up hurting people esp our loved ones so pls stop hating gays, if you dont like homos then dont even talk about it, dont argue with gays.

  • God Hates Fags and God is Not Mocked there will be Vengance and it is a terrible thibng to fall into the hands of the Living God!

  • @yourboyken I'm confused. I thought God loved all his children? But you're right, he MUST hate gays, especially since he never told anyone to discriminate against them or wrote a memo anywhere. It's so obvious! Give me a break, you can say that your god hates them all you want, but until he actually comes down here and tells us personally, I ain't buying it. And don't give me that crap that "homosexuality is a sin", because loving someone and wanting to be with them isn't in any way sinful.

  • @nothanksbby I know you are Confused you didnt have to tell me that for me to know, ok here it is: Homosexuality is a Sin and Homos will NOT go to Heaven thats a fact: (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) But you are Right Jesus will come back in Person but im affraid it will be too Late to change your Views then. God Hates Fags that is a Biblical Fact! Read it and Weep!

  • @yourboyken You'd be right, except that nothing from the bible can be taken as a fact because the bible wasn't written by God or Jesus. It was written by man, and if I understand correctly rewritten and translated several times. Now that's fact. There are SO many things written that not even hardcore Christians follow, so why should homosexuality be any different? Look, all they want is to love and be loved, just like everyone else! And they're not hurting anyone, so what's the problem again?

  • @nothanksbby Wrong again, they are hurting Gods feelings, just because 2 men stick thier dicks in and out of anothers dirty ass crack doesnt mean they love eachother, Busting a nut in another mans ass is more like Perversion then Love and they are going to Hell for sure.

  • @yourboyken What they do in their bedroom is none of your or anyone else's business. And if God hates homosexuality so much, why does it exist in the first place? It's been around for as long as humans have, and shows no signs of stopping. Plus, it happens in the wild all the time, so it's a natural thing! Hey, you can continue to believe that they're going to hell all you want, that's your right. But aside from religion, what negative outcomes could legalizing gay marriage possibly have?

  • @nothanksbby Fags doom Nations American Economy will Collapse because America Rebels agaisnt God!

  • @yourboyken That's ridiculous, gay marriage has already been legal in Massachusetts for several years, and hasn't brought any consequences whatsoever. How could it possibly harm the economy?

  • @nothanksbby Umm the oil spill idiot? that is From God! and worse is Yet to come, so when your money is worthless and people are dying in the streets just remember that you helped provoke God to Anger you are bringing this mess upon yourself!

  • @yourboyken Umm you mean the oil spill that was caused by the explosion on the oil rig? A total accident? No supernatural powers necessary? The same oil spill that killed innocent people? Leaving their families heartbroken? Destroying wildlife and marine life? All because two innocent people want to love each other? Because God likes to punish those that have nothing to do with anything? Makes sense.

  • @nothanksbby Your the same kind of Person that would have said that Soddom and Ghamorra was a total accident. you would say that wouldnt you? there are no Innocent people God knows the hearts of all.

  • @yourboyken Ok, can you give me any real evidence that gays are the direct cause of the oil spill? No, you can't. Because they're not. If God truly hates homosexuality, he wouldn't have made it in the first place. Now, fairy tales aside, is there any reason why two men can't be together? An argument that doesn't involve religion this time? Last time I asked for that you gave me another God excuse, way to go.

  • @nothanksbby its in the bible so i believe it. that simple.

  • @yourboyken Right, the bible also says that God killed more people than the devil, that wearing two types of fabric at the same time is an abomination, women are lesser than men and raping children is a-okay! If you honestly want to base your "facts" on something so outdated, by all means. However, just because you believe in something, doesn't mean other people do too. You can't just change the law and take away rights to abide by your own beliefs. Freedom of religion!

  • @nothanksbby Wrong, Wrong and Wrong again, man where are you getting your "Facts" from? where in the bible does it say "thou shalt Rape Children"? you havent read the bible thats why you are making false accusations, thats like me saying All Fags have Herpes, wich may or may not be true.

  • I agree with yotop12. Being gay is not a choice, its the way you are. I am gay and I am not ashamed of it. My friends and families loves me for who and what I am.

  • yuck dont show dudes making out.. blech

  • @blubberman911 It's called kissing, idiot!

  • @blubberman911

Yeah, didn't seem grossed out with the older couples and even the lesbian couples kissing. The two couples of men making out were the only good looking couple in the vid

  • This was read by the justice at my wedding and everyone should have the right to have it read at theirs

  • soooo ur saying vote Yes on 8?

  • OMG u are so retarded!

  • *vomits*

  • Omg I didn't even realize. This video quoted the bible to get their point across! THIS VIDEO MAKES ME SICK!!!!! Along with all of the people that made it.

  • Holy crap, we can quote the bible too, and sometimes it supports a different message! Run for the hills!

  • How DARE they quote the Bible in a way that disagrees with you! The colossal nerve -- obviously, you and and only are suited to decide what the Bible means.

By the way, there's also that silly little "Commandment" about taking the Lord's name in vain, which "omg" probably violates.

  • If God created everything, he created love didn't he? And homosexuality happened, and it happened for a reason. And if God is as loving as people make out he is, then I think it is a huge contradiction to say otherwise.

  • HA. and the yes on 8 videos don't? fuck you.

  • Love is not GAY! Love is not girls acting like men, and guys acting like fairies! Ahhh!!!

  • @ZoneTHS you're very right. It's much more than that. When you love someone despite certain attributes that most other people show disgust toward, that is love. Love has no sex.

  • Why the aahh-ing? What are you talking about? You should probably get to know some gay couples to test that notion that we don't love each other.

  • We're not saying that homosexuals don't have the capacity to love. Where we take issue is when homosexuals liken the word 'charity' to sexual attraction -- as portrayed in this video.

  • Isn't the NIV a favourite of homophobes? You know, the version that uses the word homosexual even though it didn't exist until 1869? Suddenly the KJV is the best one as soon as gays can use the NIV to our advantage? If 1 Corinthians 13 reads "faith, hope and charity," likewise do 1 Corinthians 6:9 read "abusers of themselves with makind?" and 1 Timothy 1:10 "them that defile themselves with mankind"? Pick a version, sweetie.

  • No, the KJV has always been my favorite, as it's the most correct version. And even if I were an actual homophobe, It'd still be my favorite. Yes. I think I've already chosen a version, but thank you for seeking out clarification anyways. ;)

  • Fuck all gay people

  • This was so beautiful. I think prop 8 shouldn't have passed...I wish it hadn't....it made so many of my friends cry and hurt for weeks on end and it made me sad to witness their pain. They are young, as am I, but we do not have the reasoning of a child and I find it hard to believe that so many Christians do. I thought Christianity was about faith and love and peace. But I have found it to be tainted with war and death and hatred.

  • The more comments I read the more stupid the world is starting to seem. Seriously the comments on people being "theologists" need to stop, you are clearly an angry moron trying to act smart when you wouldn't know a degree in Theology if it was shoved into every orifice of your body. Anyone who literally takes someone seriously when they claim that they just happen to have a degree for just such a controversial issue, is STUPID. As for the issue on gay marriage

  • your an idiot.. 1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals,

1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

  • true. as are over 300 regulations that are made towards heterosexuals, and you don't see us quoting them.

if you look in ANY piece of reference for quotes that simply support your argument, you're going to find them. but in the process, you lose the purpose of the entire reference in the first place.

the bible wasn't written so that people may pick and choose what they want to believe in. so either follow everything that the bible says or none at all.

  • Quote the regulations, b28! If you see something wrong, then you comment on it. Stop making a case for bad behavior. I see homosexuality as bad behavior. If you see something, call us on it.

  • quote the regulations? sure. jesus' main message to his people was to love our neighbors and love god, and you're telling me that it's okay to be intolerant over god's people just because they're different? sure, a part of the bible may agree with hating homosexuality, but christianity sure doesn't.

    bad behavior indeed.

  • I'm a christian but i chose to not fully believe the bible. It's written by humans who discriminate other humans and think everything is sinful. I love gay people for who they are. Fuck the bible, why should gay people burn in hell for being themselves and loving their soul mate? Most gay people are good people and i know a lot of religious gay people. So why think gay people are sinners when there are straight people that do worst, such as adultry, stealing, and claiming to be God? Hypicrits

  • I'm Christian also but we're not supposed to discredit the Bible though. The verses that supposedly condemn homosexuality don't do anything of the sort if you research them and find out what they really mean, it's just been people over the years adding to the Bible, mistranslating it and misinterpreting it.

  • As a person who believes in what's fair and that everyone should love, I hope those who voted YES on Prop 8 will have gay babies and realize that they voted on the worst proposition that won't allow their child to be happy and love.

  • A right delayed is a right denied. - MLKJ

  • @AtheistTower

thank goodness for second class citizenship?

    wow thats bad

  • Despite living in a different state , I think this Proposition 8 is absurd and is equivalent to Anti-semeticism. Human beings deserve to live and make the world, or the Earth , a better place for generations .Same-sex attraction just refects the diversity of love .All the protecting traditional marriage thing is absurd , they just protect themselves and abandon other parts of human beings .

=> Vote NO on Proposition 8

  • when you vote against Gay people you may be voting against a closeted loved one, a closeted friend, a closeted co worker or maybe even an ope one of those. Its just sad. Im going to stop writing now but I just hope that one day people will understand that no one would ever choose to be gay and no one chooses to be voted on.

Peace and love to all including you "Drcaustic" have a good day, truly.

  • No matter what happens I just feel that this world is so hateful. I am not calling anyone a bigot. Far from that. What Im saying is that no matter what religious people think, Its not a choice and deep down inside I HOPE everyone understands that. No one would choose to have less rights than anyone elese and no one would choose to grow up thinking they were gonna burn in hell for being who they were. IT IS ignorant to think that way. Infact you guys probably all know gay people. Think about it..

  • "Love your neighbor as thyself....do unto others as you would have them do unto you" IF I remember correctly I believe this o was one of the sayings JESUS was always saying. Why do you religious people do what your religion tells you to do, LOVE ONE ANOTHER NO MATTER WHAT LIKE JESUS DID AND LIKE I KNOW GOD DOES. The bible was written thousands of years ago and was essentially a "rule book" for people of that time, you apparently have cherry picked it so why dont you "Let it be" or be quiet?

  • Thank you "Shewhosleeps13" but i can handle this. Dr. Caustic, what I MEAN is that IM SICK AND TIRED OF RELIGIOUS PEOPLE CHERRY PICKING THE BIBLE. You all damn gay people simply for being who they are while you forget that everytime you eat shellfish your sinning, everytime you wear mixed fibers your sinning, your angering god if your not a virgin on your wedding day and you dont stone your wife for that reason. And above all, your not abiding by the GOLDEN RULE, which I firmly believe in....

  • thou shall not be gay is not a commandment you idiot! actually read the bible "DRCAUSTIC"

  • Show me where the Bible supports homosexuality.

  • yotop means, Thou shall not be gay is not a Commandment. And it's not. Any four-year-old with even a passing relationship with the Judea-Christian faith can tell you that.

    ps--Your username is retarded.

  • Then youtop's as clueless as you are. "shewhosleeps13", is the retarded moniker. It's also indicative of this generation.

  • 2 Samuel 1:26

I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.

David professes his love for Jonathan which was obviously a gay love hence Saul being angry in 1 Samuel. God didn't smite them for loving each other now did he? Jonathan died in a war, trying to keep peace for other people. A very selfless act if I do say so myself.

  • 2 Samuel 1:26 is in reference to Jonathan & David as "brothers"; meaning, brothers in the gospel of God. The Holy Bible is to be read as a book of faith and prophecy, not read like a homosexual romance novel.

  • wow i love this poem *_*

i'm really sorry guys -_- i wish i was american so i could have voted against prop 8

You have me and all LGTB community of Canada supporting you!!!

lets go for the November 2010 ballot!!!

    YOU CAN DO IT!!

  • dammit fucking church

CANT YOU SEE ITS ALL LIE?? ARE YOU PEOPLE THAT STUPID??? THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY!!!

  • yeah!!!!!!!!

  • yes yes YES!

    thankyou for this :)

  • maybe you cant comprehend it because you are a bigot and you don't know how to teach your own children what love is because of your own fears that your son or daughter might actually be GAY. Gay people exist you most likely are gay yourself and you hate yourself for it. I would hate myself too if I lived a life where i suppressed the expressions and rights of others.

  • I was raised solely by my widower father. I guess we weren't a real family. After all, I wasn't raised by both a man and a woman. Therefore, there must be something wrong with me, right?

I have a master's degree, a government job that I love, and an awesome fiance. I've never broken the law or had any mental illness. Aside from a science fiction obsession, I'd call myself relatively normal.

But there must be something wrong with me, because I didn't have a real family.

  • abortion is bad.

  • Maybe I'm misunderstanding you here, but are you seriously asking people why they would oppose to having their basic civil rights denied by a very narrow majority?

How would you feel if someone told you you couldn't marry someone you loved?

What if they made a law outlawing hetero marriage?

    Wouldn't you be opposed?

I'm sorry, but I just don't get you people who think that prop 8 is even CONSTITUTIONAL, let alone right and fair.

  • yeah, you got the wrong end of the stick, i was TRYING to say it isnt fair that they arnt allowed their basic rights - should have been more clear.

i want them to legalize gay marriage - no one should be restricted some thing as basic as that.

  • ahh... well then... my apologies for misunderstanding you.

  • it is a disgrace to see heterosexual people kissing in this video? ppor thing. i feel you.

  • Prop 8 didn't just elimainate gay-marriage, it eliminated dreams. What if a gay person desided to be abstinate, and wait for their marriage to give their body up? This right has been refused. What if a little girl dreamed of a beautiful wedding, a perfect wedding, with a perfect partner. Why should she not have this just because she's gay. Or even a boy who dreams of this wedding. Why is it that dreams have to be shattered, and replaced with hate and un-acceptence. Prop 8 is just hate!

  • Homosexuality is perfectly normal, and I believe that just like the rights of coloured people and womans rights, everyone will one day understand that being gay is normal, no matter what you say now, you will learn.

And no-one said anything about pot! Pot should not be legal, as it can cause mental illness and cancers.

  • I don't smoke pot and I probly never will but it can't cause a mentally healthy person to become mentally unhealthy.

  • That's actually the best argument I've ever heard against homosexuals: "Cuz homosexuality is not normal! ;_;" Yeah... Ehe... Neither is woman being able to vote or black people having rights. Come on people! Let's not enforce primitive laws that were written over 2000 years ago. Let's all grow up together! ^^

  • Well said!

  • Why can't kids who are gay dream of getting married someday

  • stanademas:

I'm not sure why you got so badly voted down. You were referring to religion in the second sentence, right?

    ;-)

  • I guess. I mean this entire commercial is quoting scriptures.

Of course it takes those scriptures out of context and tries to use them to justify a behavior and agenda that the authors obviously did not agree with.

  • stanademas:

Oh OK, I didn't know, I have only read about 2 books of the Bible.

But when I think about how blacks and women only recently got rights, and I think of who was against their rights... it was the people who followed the Bible (or at least used it as an excuse). I think that whoever wrote the book, did it to promote love.

If I, a white male, wanted to marry a non-white female and it was outlawed, that would seem very "anti-love."

  • They take it out of context in the same way the "loving" Christians do it.

  • Damn I wish I lived there so I could've voted no on prop 8. My country has gay marriage, or a least a form of it.

  • okay so

"how fathers matter for healthy child development"

surely two dads would be even better then :)

  • ha. i'm sure that children who aren't abused by their parents have better physical and mental health as well. funny how most of the abusers are heterosexual.

you think that having one male parent and one female parent in itself makes a healthy, smart kid? then you're an idiot.

  • aww! that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. truly a great video! <3

  • Ok, this poem is pretty but, C'MON PEOPLE. Prop 8 wasn't *about* gay love. It was about marriage. Legality. Documents. Benefits. It had nothing to do with denying love.

Honestly, they're trying to make it seem as though we can't love people just because we can't get married. I was against Prop 8, but this seems kind of sleezy guilting people by lying.

  • This isn't a poem. its a quote from the bible. Look up 1 Corinthans 13. This is a letter from Paul.

  • Ok. I take it back. It's a pretty letter from Paul.

I still stand by my previous statement.

  • I was against prop 8 myself, and voted so, but I agree with you. It wasn't about gay love or the denial of gays to love their partners or even really marriage itself. It WAS about legal stuff. People wanting the right to their same sex partner's benefits from work and such. Makes sense. And if they function like a real family (it's full of love and respect, not to mention commitment) why shouldn't they have that right?

  • Exactly.

Or the issues with health insurance and child custody. There are a lot of holes in the system and Civil Union isn't even in the running with an actual marriage. It pisses me off when people are asked to defend their standing on Prop 8 and the only thing that comes out of it is *equality*....what about *safety*?

  • Yes. Another thing I think of is again, If one is the bigger bread winner, and they pass, what happens to their partner? the family they created, if they don't have those same rights that "acceptable and ideal" families have? It makes me sooo sad and frustrated. People forget just because gay's can't have children naturally doesn't mean they don't WANT families to care for, children. It's a basic human being instinct to want this core emotion/situation, regardless of how it's constructed.

  • Too true!! It's a shame people don't consider this among same sex couples and families. But I'm guessing people who are against the fact they want to be married on the surface can't possibly understand the security and safety aspect either. Narrowminded bigots can't seem to relate to someone different then themselves or their beliefs.

  • Marriage is about love not gender.

it doesnt matter if ur gay or straight, the constitution says all men are created equal so everybody should have equal rights.

  • The so-called Christians who are spouting hate on this forum need to seriously ask themselves if Christ would condone their words! He spoke only of Love in its every mode. How can u call yourselves Christians and spout anti-Christ words?

I am not gay, but I do not see anything wrong with gay people being able to marry just like I do not want the government forbidding me to be marry anyone I chose. My grandparents were of different races and were not allowed to marry! This is the same.

  • On this vid, they were quoting 1st corinthians cht.13-very good cht. (PAULS TEACHINGS) Another of pauls teachings see a good read,Romans all of ch. one.But vrs.24 thur28 needs to be read by those that believe gay life style&marrage is right in the eyes of God... PLEASE READ IT...

  • HotDICK, you do realize it passed 48/52 right? The Supreme Court ruled that it violated the California State Constitution, so Prop. 8 was designed to rewrite the Constitution. Yes, you can say that the people voted in favor of it. But half of the population still opposed it.

It's not silencing the vote of the people, since half of the people and the courts were against it. In fact, according to statistics give it a few years and it'll be 52/48 in favor of same-sex marriage.

  • This is really beautiful.

  • March 5th...the day prop 8 starts getting overturned in the courts. CANT WAIT!! =)

  • :) :) :)

  • That last couple looked SO SWEET! Did you see the way he looked in his bf's eyes.... precious.

  • Campvamp: Your Jonathan & David homosexual reference is erroneous. The two shared a relationship that "knit" their souls together in friendship, sans sodomy and spooning. Think twice about sparring with me in scripture -- I can promise you that you will not win.

  • And you can prove this how? Scholars debate over whether the love was platonic; don't assume you're dealing with one person's opinion. Scriptures are open to interpretation, that is where a lot of religious conflict stems from. See my previous comment on the interpretation. Though that may be difficult considering its deletion. It is still love between men, and religion is about love. As I said before, if it is not about love, I cannot say that I respect it. Still waiting for a secular argument.

  • Now you're trying to tell me that the Bible uses the word "Love" as a reference to homosexuality. Why trouble your mind with conflicted opinions of the so-called experts, when all you have to do is settle the matter in prayer?

  • I don't settle the matter with prayer because, although I respect religion for the most part, and find it interesting, I am an atheist. And I already told you, if you don't interpret it as homosexuality, fine, just interpret it as love. Which is what religion should (and claims to) be about. And that is a noble thing. Love between men does not necessarily mean homosexuality, which was what I was trying to say earlier. But as I've already said, it shouldn't matter; the argument should be secular.

  • Secularism is homosexuality's greatest ally. Sorry campvamp, I just don't share your point of view. Heres what you and your sources are trying to tell me: Charity = Love = Open Sexuality. In essence, the message of this poem may as well be, Faith, Hope & Open Sexuality.

  • Dr. Caustic, please read "Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality". It was published in 1981, written by Dr. Johnathan Boswell, chairman of the History Dept. at Stanford. I suggest this because you recommended looking into the Roman Empire. You imply, errantly in my view, a causal link between sexual openness and the collapse of a civilization, but you provide no evidence. I do not deny that there is a correlation, but I have not seen any evidence of causation.

  • In his book, Boswell demonstrates that, in fact, that Roman Empire waned more and more decentralized, and therefore more influenced by rural values, and became more and more intolerant of "open" sexuality at the same time as it was declining. Again, no causation is proved by this point, but I only wish to offer that there is also evidence of correlation between social intolerance and societal collapse: Nazi Germany Imperial Rome Imperial Japan Czarist Russia

  • cont... Bismarckian Germany Monarchal France Communist Russia Fascist Spain all of these countries had severe failures of social tolerance, and none of them survivied. The Netherlands and Switzerland, however, with the former being by far the most tolerant nation in the history of nation-states, has survived and prospered as a society...as have Canada and the United States.
