I had a 156 2.5 V6 24v, got the works done at Auto Delta (3.3 V6) and the rest, kicking out 270bhp now, kept in shape with a GTA clutch and gearbox, and Quaife LSD. Only get it out for trackdays, dragging and shows.
Looking into a 159 2.4 JTDM to uprate to about the same power if not more, thanks to turbo tuning. Also 146 1.8 16v tuning 4cyl for a change, bring the rev limit up to about 8500rpm along with full engine rebuild and uprate and looking to get about 220bhp as a result.
I used to be the proud owner of a 156 2.5 24v. I miss it. Engine was brutal, just a shame about the electronics and other stuff which failed LOL. The engine was amazing though, and the polished crome pipes looks stunning. A typical BMW engine bay will just be a big black box covering the internals. The alfas are all exposed and sexy :D Long love Alfa Romeo

If your unlucky to own one of these nightmares, most of your time will be spent repairing them, as the only thing they are good at, is breaking down, rubbish:)
ive got plans to swap to an 166 3,0 engine in my 156 and super charge it. or upgrade it to an 3.8. would be more fun with an N/A but costs a lot more :/ u get about the same hp
Well, technically this seems to be interesting and to be able to do that, you must have a very good knowledge of the motors.
Now to test a such car in the streets ... I think there is nothing more stupid than that, the day you will cause an accident, you will also show us how you have done ? (ironic)
Please be serious and make test out of the cities at least.
There is lot of supercharged Alfa's V6 from UK, NL and Germany - If you want to find out what cars are also supercharged please visit: supercharger-experience dot com
One more about Alfa tuning... its better to supercharge lower compression engines, so I can make higher boost pressure without the knock problems. 3,0 and 3,2 engines are the same, the same: pistons, heads, trottle body, intake runners also the same manifolds only difference is piston stroke and compression ratio. There is no problem to put there AHmotorsport KIT and get 3,8V6 in the future to have 400Bhp, so when the GTA is better? Check at alfaclub dot pl
Power is nothing without the control. Unfortunatly it's true. I would suggest the driver to improve his driving skills before he kills himself or even worse.. somebody else (fundamental mistakes made). Secondly I can't see any reason to build a front wheel drive (no differential?) supercharched V6? And at the end.. why not buying an ordinary GTA. I believe the Alfa Romeo has more knowladge about bulding the cars. It would be more fool-proof.
We can race for real on track then will see your driving skills. I suggest Nürburgring or cart track. By the way, just check something before you write - there is Quaife ATB diff.
may i ask you.. what is wrong with his driving?? yes he is only flooring the straights, but he's being safe by not doing anything in the corners (yes he did overtake from the slow lane but he had to to avoid the other cars driving slow in the fast lane)
well if you bought a gta it wouldn't have as much power (this one should be at least 300 hp) plus there is the sense of pride coz its custom.
what i suggest is a set of softer tyres because the ones you have aren't grippy enough.. and maybe harder suspension coz it looks a bit rolly (unless the camera man is moving)
awesome alfa...how many hp ??

why it's compressor, not bi-turbo?
and... why it's only fwd, not awd? 300HP is imo too much for fwd
eduarderro 3 years ago
no it`s not :) , there are more powerful cars with fwd , fwd is okay for like max 600 hp
DenverTC 3 years ago
Bi-Turbo ! Theres just about enough room to post a valentines card down the side of that engine.

Test are made on the dyno and out of the city, dont worry. But If you have any fastest car than 75Bhp you should not drive on the streets?
