Not a fan of this case - its bulky to the point that those with money would do better with an 11inch Macbook Air. I played around with keyboards for my iPad for a long while before finally giving in and settling on a 13inch Air as a desktop replacement and real outdoor productivity tool (yes I know 13inch is a much bigger form factor than a netbook) . Using a touchscreen OS with a keyboard just doesn't feel second nature and reaching over a keyboard to touch a screen is just not ergonomic.

The ipad is less powerful than netbooks because you can do just as much on a netbook as you can on a regular computer. Typically netbooks just have less power performance. The ipad is incapable of running basic programs like microsoft word. What a joke! Chris is an apple fanboy.

@tmar23 Absolutely! A netbook is greatly underpowered compared to an iPad. A netbook has to run a an entire, full scale desktop operating system, whereas an iPad is only running a mobile O.S. which is far less demanding when it comes to processing power. Netbooks are ugly, clunky and slow and will hopefully be phased out soon by tablets and ultra books (MacBook Air).

Apple priced the iPad extremely aggressively, other companies simply can't compete with Apple's pricing for what they offer. Apple get components cheaper because they buy in massive bulk, with cash, and pay in full up front, very few other companies have this kind of supply chain set up. Look at the new HTC tablet, $700 subsidised on a 2 year contract. Madness.

The apple logo bugs me more than the targus logo. I always get a Tux decal or similar to cover up the apple on my macbooks. Same thing with my DSLR, I cover up the Canon logo with gaffer tape. I hate when people come up and ask what tablet, computer, camera, etc I'm using - annoying as heck.

I will never understand the need for an iPad keyboard case. I plan on getting the next gen iPad, and I could totally see myself lugging my Apple wireless keyboard to meetings and pairing it to my future iPad, but out and about it just seems like having a keyboard case would be too bulky and defeat the purpose of the iPad being so thin and light. I currently borrow my mom's keyboard when I need to do a business presentation, but I can't see me carrying a keyboard full time on an iPad.

@ross1441 The MacBook Air isn't a netbook, it's an ultraportable. it uses notebook class CPU's, just low voltage ones, and those i5's (and even the C2D's in the older ones) totally thrash the best Atoms and AMD equivalent in performance.

Hey Chris, isn't the Smart Cover kind of a waste of money? If I wanted a case, I would want one that covers the entire thing, not just the screen. Or am I wrong? Does the back scratch up easy?

@ynkno13 Hence "Cover" in the name. There's plenty of cases on the market that have the same functionality with the lock/unlock using the magnets, but the Smart Cover's real purpose is to protect the screen and keep it as thin and light as possible.
