Look at their throat, that seems a bit to much for me. I prefer feeding less but more regularly, like once an hour when they are small and go up to 2 or 3 hours when they grow up.

that's cool. Nice to see others doing handfeeding like me! My husband thinks I am crazy, but i did save one of our baby finches recently cause the parents did not know how to feed them. They killed several!! Now the parents learned after laying about 7dozen eggs. I like that feeding tube you used. Our local pet store did not have one so i used an irrigating syringe from my work.
Very young birds have to be maintained at close to 100 F, reducing about 10 degrees every week as the feathers grow and the bird can adjust its own temp. I use a chicken incubator to keep the babies heated, removing them to a plastic aquarium at two-week and then to a cage at month-old.
Nacked baby birds usually do not survive overnight without parents or artificial heat.

plzzzz help me i have robin birds on my window seal...what should i fee them..and how much? they mommmy is lost 4 the past 2 days...i been feeding them soft bread..help plz
First observe the crop (a pouch on the neck of the baby); if it contains any food, the parents are feeding the babies and you should not interfere.
If the necks are lean (empty), go to any "pet store" and purchase baby bird food powder any brand, a feeding syringe, and follow the instructions on the package.

how much do u feed baby birds? I found one and am trying to keep it alive
finalman25 3 years ago
You feed them according to their age. A week-old bird eat a lot less than a mont-old bird. If you overfeed them theý'll regurgitate.
I fed them Roudybush "formula 3", the same used to feed parrots.

its not life-dangering to them if u overfeed is it?
finalman25 3 years ago
Yes, it may die. Like a vomiting child, a regurgitating bird may aspirate the food and suffocate.
Most of the time a baby bird die while feeding is because you did not give it time to breathe between each gulp.
Just look at the crop of my birds to get an idea of how much is "overfeeding".
