I spent practically 48 hours alone in Istanbul airport because of bad weather and the ash cloud last year. Worst travelling experience I ever had. Eno and noise cancelling headphones kept me a little sane

You did a Great job on this. There is a certain calm (that is if you are not afraid to fly) that asends upon you when you are in airports or flying in planes. All the massiveness that is going on around you make you feel that there is nothing for you to do but sit and...watch.

same here. I was stranded in seoul and frankfurt last year. seoul was ok in this case. But frankfurt.....I could drive back at home but had to wait 4 hours with no access to business lounge...god damnit :(

I was stranded in Thailand Nov/Dec08 when the airport was taking over by P.A.D. Emirates phoned me to tell me i was booked on the 1st flight out after 9 nights, i had to be at check in 8 hours before the flight (i was flying business class) i had to wait 5 hours before i could use the lounge, it had taking me 3 hours to get to BKK airport then i had a stay over in Dubai of 8 hours in the airport before my flight onto Newcastle England, i was wrecked and no good for work the next day!!!.

oh two years ago at Bradley Intl, my flight to MKE was delayed for almost 7 hours due to nasty snowy weather. THe ariport was closed and we sat there forever! Finally, my flight was one of the only few that left the airport!

I did get stuck at the airport for over 12 hours after my sister and i were first told our flight was cancelled but wasnt, bumped twice, and finally made the last flight but was delayed for a few hours. The whole day from 5am to 1230am was gone. By the way, 5 stars!

i know what you mean. i used to want to be a pilot, but in addition to finding other jobs i always think of the towers when i see a big jet. in general 9/11 took all of the fun out of airports. i cant imagine being stuck in an airport for 12 hours. good job

I think it was this flight that I heard about were a bunch of people were locked in the plane and some of them sued the airline for locking them in. Maybe not you, I think this was in Denver or something.

Yeah, 12 hours is harsh. But much respect for making something positive out of it. I'm sure many would have come away from that experience with only bad feelings. Creativity can be found in the most unlikely of places.
