Sucks to go through that - don't take this the wrong way - we're looking at property just outside of town - but ON A HILL. Martinsville is right smack dab in the middle of a floodplain.
Imagine driving in that storm. . . . i was in a 78 camaro. The next day at at work was dead because of all the trucks being stuck out of state. Most of the highway at bloomfield indiana was shut down too. only one way in and out. GOOD VIDEO the first song fits very well lmao
dude at 6 minutes and 11 seconds. the two kids in those pics are jared turner and dillon payton. i'm jared. i'm in the red and dillons in the blue. that firefighter tried to get us to get on a bus and we ran away. lol. we were stuck on that high way for like 2 hours.
my dad works in martinsville, we live in greenwood, but we went down the evening of the flood. it is still shocking to see how tragic all of this was and we were lucky that my dad's business was not damaged by the flood waters. the images for this video are wonderful and definitely add the the dramatic effect of it.
I live there tooo I was at Paragon at the time with my sister a tornado hit up there me and my sisters husband was gone and we looked up and there was a funnel!!!! soo we was in shock and it was so sudden the hail just came!! we went in grabbed her baby boy and ther lights went off the next mornin we woke up it was like a river
I actually live over in Mooresville. Not to far from Martinsville at all. I'm surprised we didn't get hit as bad. Even though the part of the bridge on 144 leading into Waverly collapsed. Scary moments! I'm hoping we all don't have to deal with anymore big storms of the summer of 2008.
o man right now in aretesian acres it looks like its gonnna flood again the creek is up and our street has water in 2 parts the middle is just wet but soon those 2 parts are going to connect and flood the whole street if this keeps up.
This was a very heartful video for me, we go to Martinsville all the time. I live in Gosport and after seeing this video my heart is broken but thankful that everyone is ok. We just came from Martinsville today and the after affects from the flood was devastating to see. I would like add that those who was affected are in my thoughts, and will be for a long time to come.
This is an amazing video. I work as a pharm tech at walgreens in mooresville and have been taking alot of requests for patients. To see this has broke my heart. Love and tears go out to those affected.
I live back in Artesian Acres so it was nice to see what Industrial Dr. and 37 looked like. I was totally oblivious to what was actually happening along 37 since I couldn't see it. I hated to leave my house to see. I had water all around my house and was one of the fortunate ones with only 3 to 4 inches in my garage. I feel so badly for those who have lost everything. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
My grandpa was in Country View appartments and they were being evacuated we searched all of the places they were taking the people they rescued out of there to. My Grandpa was there.. so one of the bus drivers that was moving people offered to take us down there so we could make sure my grandpa was one of the very next people out. So we were down there for a long time while rescue men took boats back there to get people out.
Thanks so much for making this video!! I want to post it to my myspace to thank my friend (an American soldier getting ready to deploy to Iraq) he got us out of the Super 8 and to my fam in Paragon when no one said we would make it---thank God for all the great people in Martinsville that helped out and I hope you are all doing ok!
my sister lives in the trailer park that is across the street from the ford dealer and they had to come in and get her on a boat and then her trailblazer is completley under water.
thats crazy!!!My Grandpa lives in Country View Apartments and thats what most of my pictures were from, was the evacuation. Man... at least people made it out ok.
yea i no i mean then she had to go back and get the dogs and the dnr was trying to tell her that she could not go back and get them because the water was contaminated but she said that she had to go and get them or they was going to driwn but they let her back to go get them
very well done! when mother nature has it's way with martinsville it's always an improvement. we should go with it and dam it at the top of the hills north and south and make it the states largest pay lake ! thank god everybody is safe though , seriously.
I have a friend that lives in Mooresville. At first I thought that first picture was of Walmart, and I was like, NO! NOT THE WALMART! Because she says that's where all the cool kids hang out.
Wow though...that's insane. I'm glad your safe. Stay safe down there everyone!
Wow. This is an amazing video babe, but it's so sad. I feel so bad for everyone who lost everything in just 11 hours. It's crazy. I hope help comes soon and gets things back to the way they should be. I'll be praying. God Bless Martinsville.
this was a crazy experience... ill never forget it... great video
