  • Thanks for the help!! I like the way you slowed it down!!

  • Not bad. It's not entirely accurate. A few of licks are a little bit un-authentic in technique, but this is a good enough baseline for someone who is trying to get the gist of the solo and patterns.

  • The chords you play after the first part of the intro to the song don't sound quite

right to me. They are close.

  • how useless was that.... teach it. Its a lesson.

  • are you serious or kidding with people ? its really funny.

  • dude this is bad ass!!!

  • nice crotch

  • It's way too fast played, good video though.

  • Great learning tool thanks!

  • you don't fucking deserve 100k views.. this sounds horrible

  • @yairoka pretty accurate is what it is, down to that classic george harrison lead tone. the slomos make it extremely helpful too.

  • Thanks for the lesson..Very helpfull...!!! I love this song...I see that you have a program to slow down the speed of the song...That's a fantastic way to learn solos and licks from songs...Can you please tell me the name of the program? And where can i downoad it? I will be very greatfull to you...!!!Thanks

  • Thank you for this video. It has been a great help. Rock on!

  • thanks alots man !

I have the tab an a can play the solo

but I am pretty weird with "wich finger to use to make as easy as possible" and I had trouble when you have to do a bend on the 3rd string and just after on the 2nd one

    your video helps a lot

  • Thanks very much, a great help! :>)

  • well play. Could i get the tab for this song ?

  • we've got the same guitar :D

  • Excellent, thanks for a lesson that is easy to follow.

  • Thanks for a lesson that is easy to follow. :>)

  • is it possible to give a walkthrough on this? I am a noob at songs like this but I totally want to learn this and there is nobody else on youtube who does a video like this.

  • interesting website, I used to often go with my girlfriend to the Paradiso and to the Melkweg where bands like nirvana, the rolling stones, wishbone ash, kris kristofferson and many more used to perform.

  • hi. thank you for the video...

both ways are good and easy for me to follow upside down or not

While my guitar gently weeps always been my favourite beatles song

hope you're having good times and happy inspiring people.....

  • I see you're from the Netherlands. We lived in Amsterdam for a year in 2002/3. My son Jonathan, only 18 at the time, founded an on-line music magazine there called Incendiary, which is still alive (incendiarymag . com). He certainly had a lot of fun with it.

  • @dannysound1

Thats a great song and you make it very easy to learn. Great Work and Many Thanks !

  • Thanx so much for the second part solo of my guitar gently wheeps,

    you are truely wonderful

not sure if you've noticed but the second part solo video is upside down

i wish you a wonderful day

    thanx again

  • It is "upside down" on purpose - I wanted to show the player's view, since I think it would be easier to learn when what you see on the screen is the same as what you see when you look at your guitar. Please try and let me know what you think.

  • awesome video!! thanks so much!! tabs would be gr8z1

  • thanx.

So sorry for your pedals power adapter

thanx again for your will to help and share your guitar experience

  • thanx a lot, I will wait for your outro solo of While my guitar gently wheeps. thanx for your time and your will to help

  • I tried to record it the last weekend, but unfortunately, my pedals power adapter burned itself. I'll have to get a new one and find available time again. Apologies for the delay.

  • OK, did it this morning. Check it out using the link at the info section above or at the end of the video (links are blocked in comments).

I had fun practicing and recording - I hope it is useful. Comments welcome.

  • Hi cool video- cud u send me a link 2 the tab please?!

  • thanx for this great solo of while my guitar gently wheeps, can you please make also tutorial of the outro solo of the song, the solo that ends the song, that will be so great, thanx

  • @dannysound1 You're welcome. I'll add the outro in a few days.

  • love it. I'll have to tab this out on my own. Gotta work on my aural training and transcribing skills anyways

  • Fender Stratocaster HSS, I have that exact same guitar I love it!!!

  • It took me like 2 months of studying this vid to master this solo, but I finally did it. ;)

  • Can you send the Main Tabs To me? :D

  • Brilliant work mate.

  • Would it be better to use a pick and is there such a thing as bendy stings :/

  • I'm using a pick. The lighter the string gauge (diameter), the easier it is to bend. If I remember correctly, I used 0.09 (E) in the video.

  • tab this

  • awesome video. Can you please send me the tabs of the main solo

  • the intro is in piano..:)

  • gotta start buying bendier strings

  • Great everything except for one tiny thing I noticed that isn't really any problem. At 3:45 I believe he plays those same notes but a little differently on the third string 17th and 19th fret and then to what you did pretty much

  • now i know why guitarists make up their face alot while doing solos....this crap hurts!!

or maybe its just cause its my first time trying to bend to a far extent. haha.

    excellent playing man well done.

  • Well the only guitar player that I know of that dosent make a face during the solo is George Harrison

  • haha yeah, i was joking, but jimi hendrix also kept a straight face on occasion too.

  • or looked like he was getting off

  • this is one of the hardest solos ive ever played HELP!!!!!

  • This is a great video. Incredibly helpful. I've been wanting to learn these licks and solos and this is by far the most helpful video I can find.

  • Thanks! Much appreciated.

  • yeah man

You dont have any tabs to go with this???

  • If you need tabs.......you aint ready.

  • some people learn differnly i cant remeber stuff unless i see it in tab form.

  • The video is pretty clear. You can see what he's doing.

    Good video.

  • Thanks! That really helped me!

  • great song, great video, really helped me become a bender

  • Great, I can now tick off my good deed for today!

  • To ugotpmp -- Those next two notes are A (5th String 10th Fret) and F# (4th String 11th Fret), It basically a D major triad. Check my Channel if you get a chance -- Rockinu1, email me for question about ANY Classic rock guitar solo

  • dude... nice playing

never mind the guys that said otherwise... they must think they rock but i'm sure they aren't much better than you, IF they are really better than you

who's really good don't need to sey they are

  • i thought a dog barked at 1:43

  • no I think he farted.

  • help !!!

at 13 seconds... after the D note on 10th fret hi E

what are the next two notes????

  • A, F# - arpeggio on the D chord.

  • hey this is swell...but do you have the tabs?

  • great solo..

  • I have been struggling with these riffs for months with tab. Thanks for an excellent tutorial.Cannot believe some of the nit-picking of some other comments. They must think they are bloody Clapton!!

  • do u have a link to the tabs to go along with this?

  • can you do a remake even closer just on the frets closest to the guitar body so i can get a clear picture on what frets to play? On the bends its hard to tell and when to hammer on pull off, etc.

  • I think just writing up a tab for us desperados would be perfect. Pluys.

  • Are U kidding me ? We all know what 6 strings and a fretboard looks like. All the same.... Yours. mine. And the video shows what string and what fret.

    DUHH.

Learn how to play first and watch and learn WHAT to play.

  • this video sucks butt. it dosent help one bit

  • ahahahah, how can u not learn from this dude -.- seriously. not everyone is going to teach you from scratch

  • need a tab??

    sell your guitar dude...

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • I feel bad for not trying to learn it by ear but i've only been playing for 4 months

Is that a good enough excuse?

I'll eventually learn stuff by ear but i don't really want to at the moment.

  • Hey that's normal, when I was first starting I learnt heaps of songs from my teacher, it kept me motivated... :)

    Keep playin'

    Liam.

  • perfect!

  • this didn't help at all!!

  • can i get the tab for this solo, from anyone please and thanks

  • Yeah, you can purchase it or use your own ears, the way people did before they expected everything to be spoon fed to them.

  • wow, you sound like a harcore plAYER !!!

    *roll eyes*

  • annoying...

  • excellent explanation of how it's done - thanks

ps; funny thing is, now that I know how it's done - it does take away some of the "magical mystery" ;-))

  • This is where you can see Clapton is a god. Have you see the version he played in Concert for George? Thats was awesome.

You play it very well, I can see you have great talent. But its nothing compared to Clapton. Yet you are very good. Eric Clapton must be a demi-god or something!

  • dude this is a lesson. he is not trying to be clapton. he is just explaining the basics of playing the licks and the solos textbook style. and he does it very well at that. thanks, dorondekel. keep up the good work.

  • erm. yes, I know. I was not saying he was bad... Just that Clapton is a semi-god or something. chill out man!

  • Dorondekel Sorry if you got the wrong impression to my posting from ages ago. Painful in some places probably comes across as to strong when I didnt mean it to be. Keep it up

  • you still an asshole!!!!

  • I think Clapton played the solo on the studio version?

  • best I have seen,love it,thanx for posting

  • Man DUDE! That was awesome! The lesson and the slowed down licks were really helpful. This is the best lesson on this I've seen on youtube!

  • Thanks. Weep it up!

  • Please don't take it as offense. It is not what I mean at all. I think you get what I am meaning, but you look good enough to be able to play with your eyes shut. Maybe that is what you should do when you play next time and see how you go. Also, BB King plays vibrato on the guit. Not the circular motion you are doing but violin style vibrato.

    .

  • Your advice is excellent. You are exceptionally perceptive!

    Again, thanks.

  • The notes seemed perfect, but I kind of agree with korgtri where you just dont seem to have a feel for this. I know that others have obviously enjoyed it, but it seems to be really sterile. It will come with practice, but it feels like you are thinking too hard about what you are playing rather than just letting it happen. I mean no disrespect. Maybe because it is an instructional. You passed on the licks well. Heaps of people will learn from you though, and your goal was to share what you know

  • Thanks for the comments. I agree that I'm not practiced enough to play with no thought to what I'm doing. I'm just an amateur who picks up the guitar once in a long while, and haven't been on stage with a guitar since my teenage years, decades ago.

  • Awesome video man you nailed it. Very helpful

  • damn dude you're awesome, but I can't learn solos or the licks on the video,if you got tabs only for solo,I would appreciate.

  • very helpful. thanks for taking the time to do this. you have a friend in new jersey lol

  • simply insane boy, simply insane

    thanks a lot man!

  • Yeah, it has a very "real" sound to it that maybe people aren't used to today. I played guitar years ago, but then they did not have videos like these. I was thinking of getting one of those compact "traveler" guitars, working up some calluses, and jamming. Thanx.

  • God bless You! I'm going to go out and buy an electric guitar today. This is the best transfer of knowledge for a great solo I have ever seen!

  • Gee, thanks. You made my day!

  • thx

  • Who can give me the tabs?

  • answer me , how come in the live version in 1971 for bangledash harrison does rythym??

  • eric clapton played the lead on the record

  • btw man im looking for a new solo to practice ive done while.... im looking for something recognizable and thats within the same difficulty of this solo and like hotel california .. i dunno if that helps but those are the solos i can now do. Gr8ly appreciated

  • dude what effects are you using? also did you tune up or down by any steps? please respond

  • Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9. Standard tuning.

  • thanks man, is that the effects clapton uses?

  • In the studio recording, "automatic double track" was used to make it sound like two guitars playing together.

  • is there anyway i could donwload some sort of ADT?

  • I dunno. If you find one, please post a link here.

  • Great lesson/instructional video. Pay no attention to the peanut gallery. Please keep up the terrific videos!

  • Great playing. The comment below about you being 'painfully off' is patent nonsense.

  • Thanks for the kind remark. Much appreciated.

  • Isnt that song from the beatles

  • Yes, but the guitar solos were played by Clapton.

  • yea george harrison is singing. In the original version George is playing rhythm and Clapton is playing lead. They were both very good friends.

  • R u putting vibrato on those bent notes.

  • The only effect pedal I used is distortion (Ibanez Tube Screamer).

  • i think he ment like bending with your fingers/hand. Btw great lesson:)

  • Vibrato is a very classical technique for rhythmical bending of strings. Classical like cellos, violins, classical voice. Guitars need not not apply...

  • sgtpeppers, yes, he is putting vibrato on those notes. (2:22, 1:09.) The violin style vib. (2:11)won't work on fretted instruments...

Doron, what are you doing at 2:11, anyways? are you trying to fully depress the string for more sustain?

  • I wasn't consciously thinking of what I was doing, just playing along. I tend to naturally add a bit of "color" to longer notes to make them more interesting. Thinking about it now, moving the fretting finger forward and backwards varies the pitch slightly as it adds and subtracts the string's tension. It's easier to do a rapid vibrato this way than by up/down bending. Try it!

  • I did. Some experimentation reveals that it's not as effective as simply pressing the string in... it also doesn't work very well on the smaller diameter strings (unless your action is ungodly high) since there's not as much/any at all distance between string and fretboard. Side to side is so much easier for me.

Pushing the string in and out works better IMO. I will say one thing though. Even if it doesn't look like it's doing anything, keep doing it, because it looks really cool.

  • i think you may be out of tune?

  • thanks m8 that was helpful

  • I admire your attempt and Im sure you will get better. Its funny because I think you can do it but at the moment ou are painfully off. Please dont be offended because I think you will only get better Keep it up

  • Perhaps my hearing is limited, but I'm not aware of any significant errors. When am I "painfully off"? Please list the times and explain.

  • Actually, you might be te one's who's tone deaf. It was good and shows how to play it well.

  • Well you are obviously tone deaf if you think its right. Read some of the other comments. I was trying to be supportive of dorondekel, I think he has done a good job and shows how to play it well and he will only get better. But not with people like you who want to tell him everything is perfect. My one regret is to use the word painful which was probably to strong and I only meant to point out that in a couple of spots the notes bent stuck out as bad compared to most of it which impressed by

  • why don't you try making your own video first, before being so damn critical. This isn't as easy as it looks. His technique of slowing it down, great camera angles, good lighting, makes this an excellent video. Idiot!

  • You really are a simpleton aren't you. What has camera angles and lighting got to do with with the sound. Thats what I referred to. Anyway go and converse with the other people who said it sounded poor or out of tune. As I no longer wish to converse with an ignorant loser. Get a life
