Hey Brendan, nice work mate - just one question: I notice you have felt beaters on your kicks but you're using mesh pads (KD-140s?)... I thought that was a big no-no?!? The reason I ask is I'm about to upgrade my KD-9 (cloth head) for a -140 but some people on vdrums have warned me to modify the clotth beaters on my Tama Iron cobra to plastic/rubber. Any advice??
@superfrozo thanks alot :) Yes i did end up wearing holes in the mesh heads by using the felts. I bought new heads and just taped up the section the beater hits and it all worked well. It does make it a little noisy though, now i use wooden beaters and its cool.
@instantbrother hey thank you so much, it means alot being complimented by a drummer as talented as you! your vids are great, i'm subscribing back at ya! i really like your drum setup too, looks and sounds awesome.
i like your style, but cutbell is right, electric drums are 20 times easy to play, please re post with acoustic drumkit and you will have my respect with double bass, however im loving your style
i'd invite either of you to play on my double bass setup and see if you can make it produce a full kick sound... i think you will find i have my sensitivity settings at a level that makes me have to kick them harder than an acoustic bass drum. try to look at the angle of my beaters, theres no trigger tapping happening here.
Well, i would like to play your kit, however my only experiance with electric drum kits limits me to say they are insanly easier and no where near as fun as acoustic, you are right about your pedals, though i personally like keeping them with a high resistance also

I hate the fact that you can hear the sticks hitting the pads.

Did I hear some Meshuggah in there. Being a drummer myself, I would find it always helped to warm up with a bit of the Mesh. Rock on!
