  • always flush your coolant and care for your engines in your vehicles

  • 0:14 No i they sat in the cab while it filled with smoke, suffocated, the died. OF COURSE THEY GOT OUT OF IT!!!

  • It's a bomb! Run to the United Kingdom people!

  • GTA!!!

  • @MrDoozy2000 What about GTA??????

  • All those people with nothing better to do than film this.

  • You're getting bleated. #1 it's NY NY. Don't bs with any fire especially in a intersection. You wouldn't be saying that if it caught on to something else, or the tank decided to blow. Always send more than one. Reminder: don't play with fire

  • @medlife o yeah what about this hu?!?!?!

  • check my channel

  • holy shit....that road looks bigger wen ur not packed into it i was standing over by lindys last night for new years eve

  • NYC Cabbies are the worst drivers in the world. They stop in the middle of the street causing traffic just to get customers. They don't care that someone might hit them from the back.

  • This may have already been said but....If all of those cabbies had gotten out of there vehicles with an extinguisher, that fire would have been out in seconds.

  • one thing most of you didnt see was the complete waste of resources they sent to a car fire 3 engines a ladder truck and a chief. i could understand 2 engines max and maybe a medic because theres always a chance of someone being hurt. but every fire video of a fire in nyc i see on here is always like 3 times too much. now before i get blasted i understand that large fires you have the fatigue factor. but a lot of time it looks like they just sent them out for something to do.

  • @truckerjay1 It most likely came in as a box alarm and not a car fire. They usually send an engine and truck.

  • @truckerjay1 the danger factor is also a proboble reason if more danger expected they send more units like you see theres bulidings its possable it could of spred to em they send more units to contol the fire

  • Anyone see the tour bus with people in it viewing the city?

Tour Guide: And here is ..... Oh boy wait a minute.... Everyone don't mind the cab on fire lets look at Ladder 21 New Yorks Bravest.....

  • bad that is it makes me sad because it remindsme of sept 11 with the cars on fire myuncle was in sept 11

  • jst read about Engine 158 .....the cops were being attacked by a mob of about 40 people trying to beat up a girl because she wouldn't fight at school. The firehouse is just down the road and the firefighters just brought the truck and sprayed the rioters legs with the deck gun knocking them over......police didnt ask them to but it sure as hell saved them! they were very thankful!

  • Plenty More where that came from...

  • Holy crap that's a lot of personnel for a car fire.

  • My dad works in engine 21

  • i have a dumb question does all fdny engines have foam?

  • Only in NY would people stand around taking pictures.

  • whose ready to play cash cab

  • stupid to stand in front of the cab, something could blow up and shoot out at them. even if they are down the street a little ways.

  • burn mada faka burn hahhahahahahahahahahahah

  • Nice how every pedestrian, bike, car, and taxi stops and looks and stays out of the way when they actually see the fire. But when these guys are trying to fight their way there, the world keeps on rushing around them, pushing them, blocking them, slowing them down. I love NYC and the people, and have had the priviledge to work along side FDNY, but civilians just dont realize how irritating and selfish they are towards emergency personnel until they see the disaster.

  • @medlife07 I couldn't agree more.

  • @medlife07 you are so right thats my everdays business driving the rig through the traffic

  • @TheEMS41 Yep, its my full time job too. Just blows my mind the way we get treated. But then you see video's like this...

  • @medlife07 god bless y on every run >1

  • @TheEMS41 God Bless you as well.

  • @medlife07 thx y so much you have a good day now !

  • @medlife07 You are so right. What agency were you working with?

  • @danbeb I currently work for a private ambulance service out of Roanoke, Virginia. We were deployed by FEMA to Brooklyn when the last hurricane went through to assist them with hospital evacuations and to back them on 911 calls if the need arose. We assisted Brooklyn Borough FDNY EMS Station #33 to be exact.

  • YOU WANT ME TO TURN UP HEAT FOR YOU PRETTY LADY?

  • im NEVER going to live in New York!

  • If your car is burning like that you don't want to be inside it

  • @marcelrotgans no crap..

  • Police officers must work with many different factions of government and society in order to get work accomplished. Also, they must respond with confidence and self control. Moreover, where would we be without fire fighters? What a great job they do.

  • @ChadC919 yes we do do a great job dont we

  • *WARNING*

    Monday morning quarterbacks below

  • hey!! i put that OUT

  • i love the way people drive by, as if it wasn't there.

  • yeah but in the UK you guys have weird looking helmets

  • @onetwelveninty3 probably better helmets though...protection wise

  • @WhitakerSJA yeah those helmets are way better protection wise but i'd still rather wear the more "traditional" style helmets

  • @onetwelveninty3 we love ours and you love yours. each to their own i guess :) stay safe!

  • @WhitakerSJA exactly the helmets are built to meet the standards of the different countries as long as everyone goes home it doesn't matter what your helmets look like

  • @onetwelveninty3 very well put!

  • @onetwelveninty3 at least they properly protect your head.

  • @Crazyfogfighter yeah but as a buddy of mine who went through the academy with me would say "you look like that guy from daft punk"

  • @onetwelveninty3 mhm, who cares? It's about your safety, not about cool looking. You people in the US need to get over this cool hero image, it would save a lot of firefighters...

  • @Crazyfogfighter most of those euro style helmets don't meet the standards that we have in north america anyway, they're designed for different styles of fighting fires. from what I read in europe they do more of a defensive attack where in north america we do more interior attacks so the helmets are made differently

  • @onetwelveninty3 we changed our tactics around 10years ago, we do a lot more interior attacks. But we have less fire, because we know how to build proper house ;-)

Our helmets are better, because they're all around your head, and not just on top of it.

eg many FDNY Fire Fighters use leather helmets for traditional purposes. Might look good, but it's not safe. Unfortunately there are a lot of deaths among the US Firefighters.

Still all the good tactics and tools we use today are US inventions

  • @Crazyfogfighter I'll keep my helmet =P but I do like the idea of the apparatus having hose reels in the back compartments on the driver and officer sides, it that pretty standard in most of europe?

  • @onetwelveninty3 it is the norm with hose reels. saves a hell of a lot of time. :)

  • @WhitakerSJA nice, that's interesting, is there like a standard on the diameter of the hose or how many feet (or I guess meters haha) and what kind of nozzles do you use? or does it pretty much vary department to department?

  • @onetwelveninty3 we carry 45mm, 75mm hose (rolled) and hard suction hose. HRJ is 20m but as for nossles it depends on the brigade (we dont have different departments in each city....there are only 49 'departments' in the entire country...known as Fire and Rescue Services) they cover a very large area each. Every fire appliance will carry Pistol grip nozzles, and High Pressure nozzles and a Ground Monitor. they can also carry Fogging Nozzles if they want to.

  • @WhitakerSJA thanks that was extremely informative it's interesting to learn about how firefighting's done 'across the pond' ha

  • @onetwelveninty3 no problem. if you want to know any more then please just ask :)

  • Thomastehpwner I'm also a new yorker and I thought that was hilarious

  • Even if the FD got water on the fire in less than a minute after it starts, the vehicle will be considered totaled by insurance companies and scrapped. The owner gets the current market replacement value based on age of the vehicle and extimated mileage. So in most cases the FD is not in a hurry to extinguish the fire, but is more safety conscious in a heavily populated area.

  • @1965looker nothing but a expensive dumpster fire. I agree saftey is number 1 at car fires.

  • some morons

  • Um BAR-B-Q

  • sorry HOW long to get some water on it?

  • @WhitakerSJA First off, what the hell do you even know about firefighting? Nothing, didn't think so. If you start running around like a chicken with its head cut off, that's how people get hurt. And sorry if they don't get all that hose of the rig and charge it fast enough for you. They do their job on a day to day basis and do it better than anyone else in the world can do, so don't be complaining about the best damn firefighters on the whole damn planet!

  • @TH3GR1FF13 actually considering that i am a firefighter i think i know a fair amount (well done on making an assumption as to my career). why do they not have hose reels on their appliances? in the UK we have hose reels which we pull out and they are charged and ready within about 15 seconds. we can start fire-fighting in under a minute. why not do that there instead of having all that hose to drag out before charging. in my opinion London has the best.

  • @WhitakerSJA in new york it is not realistic to have hose reals it takes just as much time to pull a crosslay and u can get more gpm out of a crosslay thn a hose real

  • @littlestew9999 probs get the same amount through A HRJ (Hose Reel Jet) though than a standard hose reel.

  • @WhitakerSJA and think about space and u dont use hose reels on hi rise fires

  • @littlestew9999 we do use HRJ in high rise fires plus we use the dry riser. as for space.....i always found this strange....we have a little bit smaller appliances but we actually carry more equipment. :P

  • @TH3GR1FF13 i wasn't actually trying to be disrespectful i was just making a point that in every video of Fire-fighter in the US they take so long to get water flowing and i just dont understand why if we can do it in around 15-30 seconds. I saw one video of a property fire where they took over 4 minutes get start fire-fighting. London has the busiest fire station in the world: Soho Fire Station and are damn good at their job. I never said that FDNY cant do their job i just dont see haste

  • @WhitakerSJA well as far as I can see in the video, first, they establishing some safety perimeter since there's a lot of bystander near the location of fire (it took time and preparing the equipments). Anyway, all of us are same in profession, there is no best or worst. We're here saving lives and properties.

  • @micosabeh thats a good point. In the UK we have a HPHRJ (High Pressure Hose Reel Jet) in the back locker on the left and right hand side of the appliance. So the appliance is parked up in a fend off position and the first man out of the cab door on the side closest to the car fire grabs the HRJ for that side whilst the driver goes and charges it. ready to pump in about 15 seconds. but hey, different places have different ways of doing things. the other ff's meanwhile do traffic and BA + BAECO

  • Get OUT OF THE STREET

  • probably the pakistan driver had something to do with it

  • @ks10308 I'm a New Yorker and that's just rude.

  • @ks10308 lol thought the same thing

  • know that's a true car fire, all the ones iv'e responded to were little or just about to explode with flames but not like this... great video though...

  • fucking cabbies dont know how to take care of there cars..oooo look at rent-a-cop lol nypigd's "finest"

  • I wish i still lived in new york :(

  • Pastapete1995 that's what she said.

    Not the cash cab ):

  • FDNY FOR LOFE!!!!!!!!! I WAS SPRAYING!

  • @PastaPete1995 so you were on the nozzle you mean?

  • Damn you al-Qaeda

  • haha built ford tough
