@morgansandcoke The problem was that the V8 in the Cerbera was designed with a flat-plane crank. That design is revy, but the V8 rumble is killed as the engine takes the characteristics of 'two four cylinders welded together'. The sound of the Griffith is much nicer.
I love the Cerbera V8, it was everything a TVR should be IMO.
I remember years ago one sitting outside my house idling, I'd been wondering what the low rumbling noise was, and why things in my kitchen seemed to be vibrating slightly, then I looked outside. Beautiful machine.
@kelloggcerealxoxo think about it, your thinking we drive on the wrong side of the road because in yankville you drive on the right side, so that states if you were living here, you would think yanks drive on the wrong side of the road because we drive on the left side of the road, rendering your statement useless and stupid.......FACE!!!
Its Bruce i e-mailed you earlier about the TVR. If you want to give is a ring al update you with all the crack on it. really miss it now av seen it again lol.
hi mark do you know douglas,s phone number or were abouts he is cos ad love to go see it again cheers. oh wish ad done a video wan i had it haha defo made it squirm about sounded lovely wen ya deathed it everywhere lol miss them near death experiences
Sorry i dont, i did ask Douglas to stay in contact n seen me pics once the car was rebuilt. but nothing. I lost all my emails awhile back when my pc died.
I tried to get in contact with him via piston heads as thats how he contacted me but no one seems to know him.
Hey Brooke, your car definately lives and breathes again, I followed it out of an underground tesco car park in the scottish borders WHAT A NOISE. I tried to keep up with it but even on icy roads he blew me away. Beautiful sound and awesome performance
haha so true when they drive around with body kit on i am like GET A REAL FUCKING CAR jeez a bunch of robbers and druggies drive shit like that drive what you can afford or u will look like a twat and especially when u floor it and one of these beasts shits all over you! GO CERBERA!
Sh*esh, the car ended in a ditch? I heard these have the crappest handling, what did you think honestly compared to Jap and Germ cars, how was the reliability? Either way Id still want one.
no its just cos the car has no traction control and is that powerful. so with a little too much throttle, the back wheels spin. yeh should be fine in america. if its a dry warm state. When i was part of the TVR club, there was alot exported to america.
must put a huge smile on your face just driving off nd knowin that you could blow the car next to you away... nd makin all that noise lol! my uncle had a griff but dnt ask why noe has a boxter lol. :S
As you can tell from the video, i wasn't trying to go "Fast"
I was trying to show the sound and the look of the TVR, so i've changed the title of the video so i dont get anymore comments about the slowness of me driving down the road. (it was a 30mph)
i dont really see why anyone is complaining about the speed of the gear change. it is evident that it isnt supposed to be going very fast in this clip but you can hear the exhausts firing instead. beautiful car. Shame about TVR nowadays and shame they ever stopped building this car and the AJP V8
Sadly a Citroen diesel estate, (I get my kicks on a Yamaha WRF 426 Enduro and hang-gliders) but I did once get my hands on a 4.3 HC Chimera for the weekend and just loved it - I am a fan of TVRs for life.
Sounds like an old carbed 4 cyl

LLOOOOOLLL. If thats how you drive a TVR..., i think you can do 0.5 sec. on the bed...
Jesus..., how bad can this go???
xispalhe 4 years ago
The Cerberas had flat-cranks, 4.2l and 4.5l. Gives more top-end power, but does not give deep V8 growl.
Sounds more like motorcycle engine (like the Ferrari 355, 360, 430)
Scanvest 4 years ago
I didn't know TVR's had flat-crank V-8's!
Nelso90 4 years ago
yeah TVRs own V8 after they stopped using the old Rover thing were flat-crank, 2 valve per cylinder real V8s ;D
