  • Wouldn't you say that Archbishop Thomas Cranmer was more of a Reforming "catholic" than Owen? Cranmer revised the Prayer Book to fit with the catholic teachings of Scripture primarily and the church fathers as understood via the Scriptures.... and not Roman Catholic "tradition".

  • How about theological exiles from neo-orthodox conservatives in the Presbyterian churches and from Anglo-Catholic conservatives in the Anglican Communion. Is it worth it not to be evangelical "ecumenicals"?

  • Lordy mercy. I ain't the only one who noticed the Eastern Orthodox icon? Shoot. Ok, the Reformed statue is not technically an icon but it might be seen as an affront as well.

  • I think it's Gregory of Nazianzus alongside a certain bobble-head Augustinian monk.

  • Why the ikon of (is it?) Photius of Constantinople??That blows me away.

  • Thanks for this introduction to a very great and unjustly neglected theologian.

  • Looking good, Carl! Love your videos. Give our love to the fam!

    Randy and Sandy B.

  • A very nice video. Dr. Trueman, Why do you think Congregationalism was the conviction of John Owen?

  • Thank you, very informative. Owen is one of my top favorite reads.
