Youre an idiot. It is compressor surge in there, however you can also hear the SSQV working. As I wrote in a different comment, compressor surge is not bad if its only slightly. But if hes running it with a too hard spring, it can be bad.

Uh, compressor surge has nothing to do with the age of the car. If the pressure cant be released well enough or not at all, it will happen. Learn some physics before you call others idiots...

Also I would suggest to change the dyno if they cant hear compressor surge if its there.

Its also well known (ok, maybe not by you obviously lol) that Japanese tuners for show actually provoke compressor surge by blocking or removing the BOVs, because it sounds so fucking awesome.

but anyway, you can only hear the compressor surge at the first time in this video. If it doesnt sound like that, and instead sounds like the other passes (just a simple "swish"), then its not compressor surge. As I said, he prolly has the screw all the way in, making the spring stiffer and less able to release low pressure. As I understand the newest SSQVs dont have that screw anymore, but I dont know how stiff their spring is.

It IS compressor surge, however I hope its not heavy compressor surge. I have an SSQV too and its not able to vent very little boost, so I am getting surge at very low boost numbers and its very quiet. However, as I said, in my case its only at very low boost, so it doesnt hurt. Maybe he has the spring adjusted too hard (judging from the date it should be the old model with adjustment screw).

Do you know what compressor surge sounds like? That little flutter sound, that's compressor surge. That's NOT a good, or "cool" sound.

At the end of the day, I guess it's almost unavoidable with turbos that big...but still, there is a lot of surge there. Maybe bigger blow offs are needed.
