  • All that OPEN water, Clear weather and these 2 Idiot Captians cant figure out how to avoid each other.

  • calm seas, good visibility, what happened??

  • recorded with Zuse!

  • It was a clear day! Both OOD's should be keel hauled. I have stood numerous watches as OOD. There was no excuse for these ships to collide.

  • How the fuck do you manage to hit another ship in the millions of miles of water?!

  • 0:50 why does it have smileys on top?? ^^

  • What more can you expect from Flag of Convenience vessels (FOC) with the cheapest crews possible?

  • Why?? the ocean not big enough for you two?, there can only by one?

  • @tony8999 perhaps there were another vessels. Keel water shows that LPG alters to her port. While bulk carrier prefers to maintain her corse (?) Port to port usually. Or there had been an agreement made via radio VHF to pass starboard to starboard. Or a misunderstanding. Or another vessel made a bullshit. Or steering gear failure. And, finally, navigator's mistake. (sometimes they live the bridge though it's prohibited) Choose the cause you like))

  • i could be wrong but i think this is lake superior

  • zoveel plaatst en dan dit?? wie heeft er geslapen?

  • Your Fucking Fired BOB!!

  • wyklepie sie

  • son anormales los dos capitaness.

  • who was on the bridge of that tanker, ? Any one at all !!?, Don't think so..

    Thom in Scotland

  • de har været pise fugle

  • @marstal44

Birdman on the bridge? Thanks for the explanation!

  • Asian drivers...

  • well what happened to the light blue ship (Maersk) is that it had been affected by "bank" effect right before the accident. This was also later concluded in the investigation of the accident the bouyed channel wasent dredged propper. Neither was the bouys in the right place.

  • sea isn't enough large

  • Can you imagine what this would have SOUNDED like?

  • Maersk boats <3

  • I am a Marine Master Class and I look at this in horror! Take care me hearty's and never drink at sea. Captain Sebastian.

  • Why the Blue ship turned in front of the other vessel we will never know I suppose. Unless there is a record we can find. It was pretty Fucking dumb! They are lucky, very lucky as this type of accident can be a disaster. The shear weight of the Vessels colliding is a very nasty thing to have happen. Huge NRG is involved and Ships are the biggest machines on the planet by far. Broad daylight and fantastic weather make this hard to understand really! Any comments?

  • Ships are supposed to pass one another PORT to PORT ie left side to left side unless there is an emergency. It looks like the Blue Ship attempted to do this, but way to late. I would say the Watch keeper was inexperienced, decide to follow the rules way to late and did not call the Captain ( who would have contacted the other ship or turned away so the other vessel could not have been in any doubt about avoiding a collision even thought the rules were not being followed.

  • is the sea not big enough to avoid collision like this. whatever happened to the radars of both ships.?

  • ok, how do u hit another ship in the middle of the ocean without seeing the other ship coming for miles ?? the blue ship turned directly in front of the other ship ..u r suppose to steer in the opposite direction when a situation like this is about to happen...the blue ship should have been the give way vessel...they both should have steered to their starboard to avoid this..musta been done for the insurance money hoping to sink the ship

  • well the ocean is a small place

  • WOman drivers.. fuck even in the sea man even in the sea.

  • "Ceo" You are all FIRED~~!! >< ..Well maybe i should pay the crew...

  • Chuck Norris' bathtub

  • Must have been world cup and the autopilot on, no one on watch. Does happen occasionally.

  • Sorry buddy, I didn't see you!

  • it looks like they didn't enough space

  • keep safety always

  • Ramming speed helmsman. Ensign pipe sweepers.

  • How can you not avoid that?

  • Damn! You'd wonder how that could ever happen with today's advanced ARPA radars..

  • nice, pictures on a video website.

  • @MrNotch9 its a video with 0.2 frames per second...

  • @DerDussel97 i would classify that as a group of pictures, not a video. my $200 camera takes faster pictures on burst mode.

  • ok, so, how many bowls of Stupid did both of THESE captains have that morning ?

  • This happens alot because there's not enough room in the ocean.

  • anyone else see the anime face at 0:56

  • Crash Expensive boats Like a B0:55

  • who else sees the happy face at 0:50??

  • @TastyGenitals

    LOL!

  • the sea is not big enough...

  • stop motion fail

  • awesome pictures.....

  • That's what I call shitty target motion analysis

  • this is where the Boeing employess went when they got laid off? I have always said that if you put two Boeing employees at any random edge of any desert and told them to start walking they would eventually walk right into each other.

  • FAIL?

  • I am assuming that bank effect or no bank effect found the Holyhead at fault under standard Colregs?

  • U got punked haha

  • That takes skill to hit another ship

  • Hope they had Geico

  • Some of the murders by the German BND known to the public:

  • @wwwtotalitaerde Nobody cares :)

  • @MrMariobi In this case you may want to have a look at channel 18BND88

This is about German snitchers abroad undermining the local society to drain as much wealth as possible.

  • Um well wow

  • theres all the room in the water and how do they collide?

  • plz next time say collison slideshow

  • Ouch!

  • Que les quiten todos los puntos del carnet

  • both of the oic are sleeping because they had hangover haha

  • Who the hell was smoken weed at the wheel house.... !! WTF

  • if they are constrained by their draft where the hell are their day signals??? and why didn't they both reduce speed in ample time so as to avoid collision.

  • @johnbigfish Well the failure to reduce speed on maersk holyhead was obviously a human error.

The speed of the Pequot is unknown.

Why they kept to high speed? You can probebly make a long root cause analisys of that.

But how many times have you not as an officer, been encouraged by pilots/agents/owners/charterers to keep a time table that you can not quite keep. And how many accidents hasn´t that resulted in ?

  • @cruisemate It is true someone it not both are to blame for this incident as appropriate action could have been taking by both. Again i totally understand where you are coming from as everyone charter, owner and master alike are continuously wanting to make good time, although you as an officer you are obliged to up hold your responsibility to take all action to avoid collision and endanger life at sea. Therefore in the case of this incident i do not sympathize with such an excuse!

  • @johnbigfish Its not an excuse... There is no excuse. It is a explaination.

If none admits the problem and the underlying causes it will just repeat itself time and time again.

In the intrest of profit safety is put aside time and time again. The safety messures that are taken is only alot of paper and checkliststs. Workload, stress, fatiuge are things no one want to adress beacuse it cost money. The training of officers in many countrys are poor. and the pressure to "make it happen" is big.

  • @cruisemate It is true someone if not both are to blame for this incident as appropriate action could have been taking by both. Therefore in the case of this incident i do not sympathize with such an excuse!

  • @johnbigfish The first thing that can bee done is to prohibit private pilot companys. They have a profit intrest which increase their willingness to push to go faster. Also all pilots should have a fixed salary that is not attached to how many ships they pilot. Beacuse that also makes them whant to go to faster and faster.

Then atleast you don´t have to fight with the pilot everytime you enter or leaving port. Today I think we should be safer off many times without him.

  • The red boat smiles about it at 0:50

    =D

  • You Have to Put Your Turn Signal On!

  • "you turn right, we'll turn left XD

  • Cant see a baby blue ship in a blue ocean, hurrrr durrrrrr.

  • tag! your in

  • Another reason not to text while driving.

  • That'll teach that asshole to cut you off

  • Drugs are bad. M^kay.

  • That was the most retarded crash ever... fucking idiot captains...

  • worst. cameraman. ever. : )

  • should have gone to specsavers.....

  • Pequot is still working in our company.

  • Now you need to stop and exchange insurance information.

  • Seriously.......as big as oceans are and this retards manage to hit each other????

  • Damn! I'd love to hear the audio on this

  • No big deal... 0:56 that'll buff right out

  • DID YOU NOT SEE MY TURN SIGNAL?????

  • yo captain all this water & no way to avoid them, sorry Sir I'll see myself to the plank!

  • both ship has been very negligent...what's the purpose of the "Collision and Regulation law"? rule 2,responsibility

  • should buff straight out.

  • Did each captain have to show his registration and proof of insurance?

  • what a silly they could obviously see each other.

  • Nice "video" !

  • just a big old game of tag

  • do ships not have blakes

  • @Dogslow yeah its called YOUR MOMMA IS THE ANCHOR!

  • clearly thease people piloting both thease ships were ether a. women (who should stay in kitchens making the men sandwiches and or in buisnesses like hair salons, nail parlours and at offices. or b. they were just completely retarded and thought lets play chicken with ships.......

  • At the trail of the Maersk ship you can see that it gone off course very fast. The pilot on board should know the local circumstances and be aware of the Bank effect at that spot. Allthough the captain has full responsebility, the pilot will have a lot to explain and I think they will not accept a: "I did not know..." from the pilot...

  • let me guess didnt see it comming

  • Question, who was the give-way ship?

  • @TWBaltz Blue vessel to give way because it had the red vessel on its starboard side. I'm a fisherman :)

  • Low Nautical Education. Common u guyz, and i am talking to the men that spend their lifes on sea like i do. Isnt that a GREAT error?

  • Yo matey....roll another blunt....

Yo captain, what's that in front of us

Who cares, just spark that bitch and pass it over here.....

  • that is some serious damage on the Pequot, hope no one got injured.

Some of you need to learn physics, F=M*A. This equation will explain why it is possible for ships to collide, all ships have a lot of MASS, and it don't take much Acceleration to create that much collision Force. Its the same principle with cars.

  • Before leaving, did they exchange driver's license and insurance information? Or, was it a hit-and-run?

  • yep, a Chinese woman was definitely steering that ship/...

  • this is deliberate. someone wants to cash in the insurance.

  • FAKE!!!

  • how this can crash?! only stupid people can do this!

  • next time when this happens make a fucking video punk!

    thnx

  • what is the ocean not big enough? shit

  • what the fuck how do you crash in the mindle of the sea fucking ass holes

  • really i swear i didnt see u you just came out of no where man serously some one was asleep at the wheel

  • anybody here knows the ships' names ?

  • lol this cud happen any day bec the sea is so small

  • PULL THAT HAND BRAKE!!!

  • Video please...

  • banging heads

  • next time dont film on a fucking calculator.

  • @Rs6rey6

I reckon a calculator would take better video, I think this was shot on an Abacus!

  • Ahnold Svarzeneggar hear!

    I concur, I concur YAWLL!

  • I _thought_ that was a Maersk ship because of its screaming cyan paint job.

  • Hope he has good insurance.......if so, his insurance company can recommend a good rental place.......I hear Enterprise will pick you up.....;)

  • Notice that on 0:54 the oil spread out on the No.6 oil tank had a shape of a face?:/

  • Comment removed

  • how in the world do two ships collide in the ocean? It's huge. Where's Moe when you need to slap these two and tell them to spread out.

  • The captain that was quilty: Ehh.. we didnt saw you.

  • they gota be ignorant and soo stupid

  • the blue ship turns left right into it, looks intentional.

  • I bet the impact made the asshole of the guy who was supposed to be at the helm pucker.

  • It's A Small World Af-ter All.

    It's A Small World Af-ter All.

    It's A Small World Af-ter All.

    It's A Small small World .

  • the other ship should have manouvered to starboard ,,, and pass the ship( in which was filmed ) behind her stern ,,, those were a bunch of idiots ,,, they we're unprivileged !!! or they we're russian's and they we're drunk like shit !!!:))

  • It also happens all the too commonly because these ships are flying flags of convenience. The crews they pick up from these countries are SO bad, they have no concept of what good seamanship involves. Hence the collisions at sea.

  • nice slide show... >__<

  • its called a video camera.

  • The blue boat won

  • @ObamaSucks12345 Fuck off you damn nazi republican. go suck glenn beck's cock and take rush limbaugh's dick up your ass.

  • teniendo tanto oceano y se chocan como puede pasar eso no lo entiendo

  • On the radio tapes, the pilot of the blue boat was heard to say "Aren't you supposed to be in the Atlantic? WTF?

  • whoops. i guess we should fire the navigator

  • Lets do something about this! Professional seaman’s at sea! Then will be cleaner the seas!

  • - There could be a technical or human factor either, but again – if it is Filipino who does not properly greased some mechanical parts in engine room, and then (for example) the rudder stuck and the situation lead to collision, where on same bridge (or opposite) is either Filipino guy who start simply to pray – it is so, it’s funnily, but many of them do so or do nothing - then we can see the result in this video.

  • Yes, they are cheaper a little bit than other seamen’s, but does it cost the environment? The oil what contaminate the beaches? The chemicals where in we swim at sea?

  • - then there is another big problem – it is “Filipino monkeys” not all of them, but the biggest part definitely. If we want to save planet from big pollutions and loses of lives we have to change the situation in right direction. Poor qualified personnel must not be allowed on vessels bridge, nor engine room, nor deck. It should be stopped that many navigators may navigate the vessel with a bought diplomas at Filipinas local market. This is big “sleeping” ecological bomb for the environment.

  • - Its now a usual practice if navigator has not slept for 3 days in port operations (especially on tankers), sometimes it’s a luck to sleep 3-5 hours during 2-3 day stay in port. And now is the question – how such a person - navigator or captain may navigate vessel safely!

  • - Crew now are pressurized to work a lot of overtime job. The job is the same (even more time consuming) as before 10-20 years ago with ~30 persons of crew, and nowadays 15-18 (including cook and mess boy), of course if the vessel has this personnel, many vessels trading in EU doesn’t has them!

  • First of all none of the vessels is at anchor! Secondarily there are many reasons why nowadays happen more and more collisions which could not to be occurred, if… there are many if….

    - company would pay more attention to safety of navigation, not to make bigger economy, reducing crews on vessel, increasing paper job – often useless.

  • lol What a low-quality video. What's the frame rate?!

  • LAG!

  • clearly an insurance job

  • Sea rage.

  • did anyone else notice the big smiley face on the ship with the camera on it?

  • @kumadude91 at 0:57 ?

  • everybody is texting these days.

    I consider it devolution.

  • wow¡¡¡

  • We want videos ! ! ! !

  • I love the one about both boats being at fault ... was the boat that was hit at fault because it was anchored in the wrong place? lol!

  • Comment removed

  • I think they were trying to recreate that scene from "Speed 2"

  • Bring it to my body shop, I ll put guys back on water in couple of hours

  • The ship with the camera was the stand on vessel right?

  • @maxwell308 Both boats were at fault. The boat that did the videoing should have been smart enough to stay out of the way. Clearly the blue one was more at fault. They were set up to go Red to Red ( port to port. ). But then turns to go Green Green ( Starboard Starboard ). Ive logged well over 10k mile from Washington to the Bering Sea and back over the past few years...and have not hit anything. Well expect for a whale that popped up in front of me.

  • @ownTer The boat that was hit was anchored! Kind of tough to move when you're not moving!

  • Bumper boats... FAIL .

  • reminds me of a story i heard of a Navy ship going all ape shit cause they were on a collision course with another ship. they got on the horn and starting yelling at this boat. yelling all about how important they are n shit. the "boat" said that they were not going to alter course. they yelled back and forth for a bit. finaly the "boat" says, "this is a light house, i am not changing course" doh

  • @healonator, you watch too much stuff on here. It was USS Montana in the Irish Sea!

  • @BuffersYeoman ive been sailing/racing for 29 years. taught sailing for 7 at a pro sailing school in san diego. ive taught a lot of navy ppl how to sail, thats where i heard the story. i dont remember the details such as the name of ship.

  • they say that you go where you look...I believe thats what happend here...and thats my answer to pavlos999 :)

  • Let's not go through insurance. I know a guy who runs a body-shop...
