@Lunarlaserranging Never. Cars aren't even being built entirely by robots. They do most of the chassis work and such but cars are still mostly put together by humans (wirings, interior and such and ofc quality inspection), though they too kinda work like robots :P
Imagine if you would have to put together a car, hard enough. Now multiply the complexity by at least a thousand times.
There's simply too much detailing to be done that it must be done by human fingers.
I can agree and disagree, personally I like Emirates' livery the best and they're also the largest operator at the moment. Of course it depends on peoples' taste, I also like the liveries of Air France and United Airlines' new livery too, but Malaysia's livery looks astounding.
I think it depends on the route. But, I don't think Malaysia Airlines bought the A330 to replace the 777. They have some older A330s and are replacing those planes with the new ones with upgraded performance and interior cabins.
IGW and ER are the same plane. Originally, Boeing was calling the planes -200IGWs (Increased Gross Weight). Eventually, the plane was renamed as -200ER (Extended Range).

That engine is 100% made with magnetic enhanced charged allow metal for less vibration force against each engine part making it a huge magnetized engine box kept secret: I think?
At the time the 777 was released it's bigger brother the 747-400 was the biggest passenger aircraft but if you add the military heavy lifters then the Russian Antonov 124 and 225 are bigger then the 747-400. The USAF's C-5 Galaxy and the C-141 Starlifter are all around the size of the Queen of the Skies :)
Yes I know. But I meant the civilian aircrafts. So there was in that time only one civilian big-size aircraft! I don't know if the 773 was released then, but I really think that is a big-size aircraft.
I agree with you, yes it is a large plane but it depends if the size they're talking about is in relation to the amount of passengers the plane can take and/or it's range.
The 777, 772, 773 were in service from 1995 onwards and the only other plane of comparable size to the 777's were the A340, 342 and 343 and the Ilyushin 96-300 :) which were all in service at the time of the 777's release leaving my favourite beastie the 747-400 on her own as far as large passenger aircraft go :)
NO IT ISNèT U FUCKIN DUMBASS, a 737 is about the same size as an A320 & it's bigger than ANY jet engine or turbofan 4 dat matter, U FUCKIN RETARD! look up on google image search: 737 777.
not "surface entry." SERVICE entry. meaning that the B777 was certified to fly long distances as soon as it began commercial service. previous aircraft, notably the B767, only became ETOPS-certified in gradual phases.
LoofLirpa is right, but to be more exact, ETOPS stands for Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards, so the two-engine jets that were approved by ICAO to fly away from alternative airport (usually ETOPS-180, which means at 180 min from the closest alternative airport)
I'm proud to be a Malaysian people.

The engine diameter is nearly the size of the 737's FUSELAGE diameter. Those engines are BIG.

Malaysia Airlines gonna acquired more Airbus A330 because of its fuel efficiency compare to Boeing 777..
is A330 more fuel efficient than Boeing 777 ???

the 777-300/777-300ER is the longest commercial airplane in the world, NOT the A340-600 as most ppl think.
clarked345 2 years ago
but i just google it...
777-300ER - 73.9m in length
A340-600 - 75.3m in length

They call this a medium-size aircraft. What was bigger in that time except the 747?!?! Or was there only one big-size aircraft?

I know, right. We get alot of 737's at KALB and I think they are big, but then realized they are just puny.
IloveSPIDERZ 4 years ago 4
A 737 is big, but if a 737 stands next to a 777, its very small.
mammerlemam 4 years ago 16
Yeah, That's what I meant. lol

A 737 is as big as a GE90 engine used by some 777 operators! Imagine that, an engine the size of an airplane!
