Death Machine draws obvious inspiration from Alien(s). In plot and in the design of the Death Machine. That's a good thing. I love these kinds of movies.
@ShatteredHawk Look, I think I know how you feel but this simply CAN'T be the worst movie. Not because I like it (also for its cheesyness hinthint), but just because it's, well... true. If you think the following movies are not as bad, then you don't know shit:
UNDERWORLD by George Pavlou, BIOHAZARD by Fred Olen Ray and well, ANY movie by Fred Olen Ray...
@Barbabapan Look I love horror movies. any type. but this? jesus christ on a stick.... TERRIBLE!..I'm a movie lover plain and simple. If the title of the movie intrigues me then ill watch it. "DEATH MACHINE" how could this go wrong. And in my view it was puss. I don't look for directors names when selecting my afternoon flick.
@ShatteredHawk This is not a horror movie really. The war beast might serve as a "horror monster" but I see it more as a Scifi-monster or something. I don't look for directors names neither, but once you've seen BIOHAZARD by Fred Olen Ray you simply won't call any other movie "the worst". And ok, I just hate the "worst movie" comments, don't they make you, as a "plain and simple movie lover", yawn too?!
I worked on this movie all those years ago. Amongst other things, I helped build this very elevator, plus I operated one of the fingers of the death machine's claw on close-ups!
The actor play 'Raimi' was a very nice bloke, by the way.
@Doinghisbest So then I ask you PLEASE bring on DEATH MACHINE II !!! There MUST be something you can do. And one question: that wasn't real dope was it?
Yeah, most probably that won't happen, or maybe as a funny hommage or something. There'd be lotsa people rising their eye brows if that'd happen. Nahnah, I don't think the dope was real. Solely because they didn't act stoned, they simply still looked ways to clean and mentally up-to-date, so they definetly were not. But we tried to copy that one joint that looks like a huge ice cream. But it was unsmokable, unfortunatly.
@oppptimist Same here. Great atmosphere, great fun flick, I very much like the setting as well, the future building with all the cold blue lights and walls and stuff, it all fits perfectly. The guy with the red lines across the face is cheesy like hell, a veeeery bad actor I guess, but he also fits perfectly into this flick. I feel like this movie is perfect for those who also like imperfection :-) and just great atmospheric fun. Also, I love that cyberpunk stuff, the mind-controller etc.
this movie is realy good for its age..i remember watching it when i was young it has a good story even better then the plots of movies now..it has imagination the robot is freaky and the suit that they used to fight it reminds me of starcraft.
I just bought this movie, totally vintage 90's science fiction! I was surprised though, it was actually really well done...... there's some real beautiful effects and visuals in Death Machine.
ive got a rifle.. i can hit it with that! -->Those eco "terrorist" never inteded to hurt anyone. The rifles were loaded with blanks and were only meant for intimidation till those corperate guys figured it out. Only the fat guy had a real gun during that scene

Very unlikely to ever be a Death Machine II - but who knows? In movies anything's possible.
And was the dope real? That, my friend, would be telling...

I've seen this movie and I wonder: Was it made in the 80's, only to be released in 1995?
zimchar 4 years ago
I thought that too, but i did some research and i have concluded that it was in fact made around 94, or 95.
