The original ones had a string you pulled, this one was made in the 1990s because I bought our neighbors daughter one for Birthday #4. My cousin had an original one in the 70s, I used to play with her as much as she did. "Mommy sing me rock a bye baby" And Mommy I'm sleepy" I'll never forget those two sayings

OMG...my sister had one of those like damn near 50 years ago, I hated that doll, because it kept repeating those asinine comments. You know what...I was just able to lipsync everyone of those comments....funny what lives on the brain.

The first time owning this doll was back when I was 9 yrs old. I got her for Christmas after asking my parents for one. This was in the late 60's, but I had her for a good 3-4 years. I had the string version. This one was the black version, but she was a cutie.

This one isn't loud enough. I had the original pull string black version in 1970. A few years back, I found one on Ebay that talked (probably repaired). She's much louder than this version.
