  • The March is the National Emblem March by E.E. Bagley.

Great tune played by the band of America's premier fighting force, THE CAV !

  • Good times had by all... Nothing like a parade with barbecue at the end of it :D

  • Can't find video of these Cav guys quick marching to Garryowen, anywhere. That must be a sight, whereever it is...

  • Cavalry bands should be on horseback, check out The Household Cavalry or The Blues And Royals

  • @awmascrotum

The Life Guards and Blues & Royals are seen on parade more often on foot than on horseback, during the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

The only time they perform on horseback is really during the Trooping of the Colour.

  • us army bands are simply sad

  • To 'brownocasio' , found BDU meaning at Wikipedia , btw I'm national of Argentina. About your instrument : Euphonium is known in Spanish with the Galitian word 'bombardino' Love John Clough's solo at /watch?v=SsZ1BAharfI

  • Who's is the author of the march performed by 1st Cavalry Division Band. It resembles the style of Sousa (i.e. Bar & Stripes). Any hint is appreciated. Sadly despite MIDI there isn't yet of my knowledge, any piece of software being able to discern music titles

  • The song we cut off as the video starts is the trio of American Soldier. The song we started in the clip is National Emblem by Edwin Eugene Bagley. Good luck!

  • The march is National Emblem by Edwin Eugene Bagley. Ahhh the days of the BDU's...sometimes I just miss them, you know?

  • You would think the band would have their music memorized.

  • My response to that is we have a set series of tunes memorized for our regular missions. Parade music is different than our daily performance music and since we did about 3 or 4 parades a year we didn't always have time to memorize music. Especially when we average 2 or 3 Change of Command Ceremonies daily during the week and then have 1 parade on a Saturday once every three months while preparing for a deployment to Iraq. Our OpTempo would make some people scream.

  • Why dont we ever parade our tanks around like the russians or north koreans or russians or so many other countries damn it i want to see tanks but all we see is guys marching

  • I wonder what year that was - it looks like when I was in the cav band playing 'bone about 1998-2000. If the picture wasn't so blurry I could tell!

  • oops is says 2003 - well at least the band looked the same, same hats, same bdu's LOL

  • Yeah this is 03 before we deployed for OIF 2 right before Chief Germann left :( for 4 ID Band and OIF 1

  • MUAHAHAHAHAH stetsons kick ass.

  • that car looks like the batmobile...

  • Gosh that is effin' old! Lol. Still wearing the woodlands!

  • i love it...

  • I miss the woodlands from the Cold War days. That and OD Abrams. To hell with the Army of one and Army strong, Be all that you can be!

  • woot trumpet!!!!!

  • holy fuck they cant march for shit.. chinese military parades wipe the floor with this..

  • because were not communists

  • but we're all about our military, which sucks by the way. Other then we have nukes, but who doesn't?

  • Dude, are you a fucking communist?! Are you a Nazi Imperialist? Shut the fuck up and move to fucking China if you like their parades so much, and you're probably one of those god damned pothead hippies who support terrorism.

  • Is it me or is the U.S. the only country where people trash their military? I assure you decimus that if you talked shit in Mexico about their military, you'd get your ass beat right away. There are two military forces that I respect a lot, that would be the U.S. Forces and the Mexican Forces, both have great marching bands. I served and I am still serving, and people like you need to learn some respect.

  • And those American troops would wipe the floor with the Chinese forces in battle. Big difference between marching in parades and actually fighting wars.

We might not look that good in a parade but we'll still kill the enemy dead dead dead.

  • sure.. sure... have u seen unedited footage from iraq? Our military sucks.. we hide and spray and pray..... We never have any idea where hte attack are coming from and when we find out its already coming from somewhere else.

  • Yeah, I've also witnessed how F-15's and F-16's bomb the shit out of the places where those stupid insurgents that shoot those mortar rounds at those Marines who are in a FOB are. Don't try to make any arguments you god damn communist, I've been to war and I know how everything is fought. Had someone else been the CIC, we would have completed the mission and gone home. But even to this day we still know how to fight, and so I urge you to shut your ignorant and insolent mouth.

  • Not with poor marching like that.....They look pregnant...

  • Yeah I was just happy to be home in one piece! We lost a lot of good soldiers from my unit. We made it through Afghanistan with no losses. However, our first week in Iraq we sustained losses. The next time in Iraq would be even worse on the unit.

  • Well take care and be safe! I will probably be heading back sometime next year but in Spec Ops though. I am reclassing woohoo!

  • Awesome, a military band video! I was in a Marine Band myself.

  • Dammit I wish I would have gotten a parade when I came home from Iraq or Afghanistan.

  • You got a family that was jubilant at your return and a country that was proud of your selfless service regardless of their views of the war. That's more than any parade can suffice for.

  • I don't know about other units but at the Cav we played for every Cav Unit that returned home from OIF 2 (except the band). We had 4th ID Band waiting for us when we got off the plane. We played for the trailing parties of units sometimes as low as 5 people it didn't matter. The General said every soldier who steps off the plane gets Garry Owen and we did it. After it was all done and everyone was home we finally got our post deployment leave 2 months after we came home :P

  • True, even us Army Reserve soldiers got a musical reception at Hood when we came back home. The 980th Engineer Battalion (altho not a deserving unit due to their poor leadership at the time) got a warm reception and some additional gear because we were attached to the Cav. We need to do more parades that involve Reserve units...

  • How sad, move on with life... You fight for a lost cause.

  • How stupid you are, commit suicide you communist hippie! we don't want you in our country

  • Dude.. That was a great summer.
