  • Hi there Betty!

LOVE your show! Keep those nice videos coming! - I'm gonna spread the word about your show in Denmark, where I'm from, and get you some Danish fans too.

    Take care:)

  • Homemade chili cheese fries are amazing, I had some bought from krystal but still I love both.

  • What kind of oil do you use to fry the food?

  • @1Gavinsmommy I use peanut oil, because it has a high smoking point.

    --Betty :)

  • Do u have a website with all measurements?

  • @1Gavinsmommy The complete recipe is always below the video. Just click "Show more."

    --Betty :)

  • hi, i wonder if u could do a original cheese fries

    Thanks Betty!

    -Alexis

  • @alexislaryn Hi Alexis! Thanks for the great feedback! I am delighted that you and your parents loved the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Quick question do you have to deep fry them before you bake them or can you boil them in french fry style shape?

  • @Iceshrooms You may boil them instead; they just need to be cooked before adding them to the other ingredients.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Ok thanks

  • They look so GOOD

  • @ThatCrazieGrl Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • @rockforevermore That's a subjective call. I like peanut oil because it has a high flash point and is harder to burn.

    --Betty :)

  • i love these recipes good work!

    --Betty :)

  • this tastes good

  • @mooncookie26 Thanks for your great comment!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen I'm being serious when I say you sound EXACTLY like Dolly Parton you have her light southern accent and tone. If you were in Nasheville up on stage talking and I only heard your voice, I would think you were Dolly :)

  • @RainbowsPukeSkittles Thanks for the comment!

    --Betty :)

  • oh, no wonder you are slim...=) love the way u cook, ty for the recipe.

  • @esnochus Thanks for your comment! I try to make recipes lower in fat and sugar, unless it takes away from the taste of the recipe.

    --Betty :)

  • OMG I want some with a hot dog LOL

  • @GeorgiaPeach87 Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • @papomalijahlove Your way sounds scrumptious! Thanks for sharing!

    --Betty :)

  • is this healthy?

  • @psionex2320 No, but it is a very popular item in restaurants...I can't think of any way for you to make it healthy, except maybe to make baked French fries and top them with fat free cheese and leave out the chili!

    --Betty :)

  • to bad your not my neighbor i could sample your fod :D

  • @Atreyufolife Yes, you could!

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • is that like sauce from chili con carne?

  • @0Kozemec0 Yes, that's exactly the kind.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen but chili con carne doesnt have chili taste in it? or does it? :P , dont really know ive only been eating it at school and their food is terrible

  • @0Kozemec0 Chili con carne should have chili powder and other chili spices, and it should taste like chili!

    --Betty :)

  • Chili with no beans? I thought chili was mostly beans...? : /

    anyway, great recipe! :)

  • @2fakee My homemade chili has beans, and a lot of them do, but not all. At the store where I shop you can get the store brand with beans or with no beans!

    --Betty :)

  • betty you are soo sweet you have a beautiful accent!

  • that looks very delicious but I like to add bacon bits and grilled onions, i feel it zazzez up the flavor, but I like how quick it is, plus I didnt know that technique with the pot... very nice

  • @Jesus1229 Thanks! Yes, you can add bacon bits and green onions! Those would be great! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • @Jesus1229 all what you said plus sour creme and it's perfection

  • ok i have a wierd question.. what do you do with the oil left over ( in the pot) ????

  • @tay121880 What I do is to cool it, pour it into a glass jar with a screw-on top, and refrigerate it until I need oil again. You can re-use it several times. When it starts getting burned crumbs in the bottom, get rid of it.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen awsome thanks for the tip!!! gonna make this for my husband real soon!!!

  • i wish she was my mom i could have my friends stay over play 360 and let her cook for us what a great night that would be no homo!!!!!

    keep it up

  • @humairap Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • To me I love my chili cheese fries soggy and messy but that's just me. Great recipie can't wait to try it.

  • I really meant it when I said "unless you like them soggy!" I think some people thought I was joking--but I actually like them crisp, and I like them soggy! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I like this show becuase my once favorite food was chili cheese fries.

  • I hope you still like cheese fries--these are easy and they taste great! Thanks for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • oh man those fries look good:o

  • Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • *less fatty

  • (Understood.)

    --Betty :)

  • It would be WAY healthier and fatty if you oven baked the fries instead of deep frying them

  • I have two videos on French fries baked in the oven. These are just for those people who want them fried. (You can adapt the recipe to bake the fries first, but with the cheese sauce and all, it's going to be a fatty dish that some will love, and others will not want to have that much fat and that many calories. (The oven baked fries in bettyskitchen are very good!)

    --Betty :)

  • These look great!

  • Thanks! I hope you like them!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks Delicious, and easy. Thank you.

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks tasty , Thank you *_*

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy the fries!

    --Betty :)

  • your hair looks good :)

  • Thanks! I appreciate your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Hey Betty I wonder if I messed up on this because my fries were soft and mooshy?? I was so disapointed in myself..BOOO HOOO (crying) I am a beginner at this so Im going to try again!

  • They may be a little mushy if you put the chili on very thick. Just put a little on all over the top of the fries, and cook them for a *very* short time!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Thanks for your replay but Betty I didnt even get that far lol..My fries were messed up from the start..when I took them out of the pot from frying them..I guess my oil wasnt hot enough or something..or I put too many in the pot..not to mention I was talking on the phone while I was doing it...I never talk on the phone and cook..thats the worst thing you I could do..I might burn down the house LOL!!! Well I will try again very soon!

  • I think you're right--the oil must have not been hot enough for the fries. They need to sizzle when they go in; otherwise, they will be soggy and not crisp!

  • Do you put salt on the fries or just skip that all together?

  • I skipped the salt--but it would be okay to salt them. It's just to your taste!

    --Betty :)

  • Did you make all this recipe?

  • Yes, the amount in the casserole was 1 bag of fries, about 1 1/2 cans of chili. and 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese.

    --Betty :)

  • yum!!

  • Oh WOW,.....(mouth waterin'),...great chili cheese fries!!! Hmm....maybe some ketchup or the chili spices add enough ZEST already? Sendin' ya 5 golden stars pretty Betty, say hi to Rick for me! = )

  • They are pretty zesty as they are; add more flavors to your own liking!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty. Looks yummy. I'm just curious. After all the videos you have made, do you usually eat your Meal with family? I'm sure the food doesn't go to waste. I will try this recipe.

    Thanks

  • Yes, we always eat our meals together. I usually take a bite of anything I cook for YouTube to make sure it turned out well, but we do a lot of eating small portions, and having lots of healthy foods with out actual meals. My freezer is always full of leftovers from the videos. I just use them when I want to take a day off cooking!

    --Betty :)

  • Nice! wheres the bacon? hehehehe... Looks goood! Thanks for sharing!

  • Okay--you know I'm not going to make this again. This could go on forever! Thanks for the smile, though.

    --Betty :)

  • Hehehe, I guess I am a bacon sort of guy!

You are welcome, just love watching the cooking going on here!

  • HOLY MOLY that looks great

  • Look's great !!

  • do you ever buy gold star chili in the can?

  • Actually, I don't, but I know that it is really good!

    --Betty :)

  • Oooo mouthwatering!

  • wow

  • Looks very tastie, thanks Betty.

  • wow looks so good Betty. I will get a can of chilli sauce when I am at the grocery store next and try this one. Cheers :-) Richard

  • This is a fairly standard appetizer here in a lot of restaurants. I think you will enjoy trying it, Richard! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks great and fast and easy too. Betty, do you have a pasta salad recipe?

  • Yes, pasta salad is on my (very long) list, and I will get to it eventually. Thanks for your interest!

  • Betty I have problems with my hands because I am going through Chemo right now. Sorry for posting a message with your name in it only.

I watch your videos and I think that your passion for cooking is great. If you want to remove more calories buy some size B potatoes and par boil them or bake them in the oven and swap them out for the fries. I know that you don't need to lose weight but .I noticed that you watch your fat intake and that is important.

    Love your videos,

    Debbie

  • "It will work if you put them in there frozen it will work"

    That is what she said!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL...Whats your secret girl!!!! How do you eat so well and stay so super thin!!!!

  • I eat only small portions of anything high in fat/sugar. I eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. I never deny myself anything--I just take a small taste if it is loaded with calories or fat!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty

  • Frozen food and hot oil does not mix well,

if you deside to do so be very careful!

    Great as always Betty.

  • Your right, hot oil does not mix well with frozen foods because it will splatter right in your face.

But, if you listen to Betty she said that she thawed the fries prior to placing them in hot oil.

  • *drools* five stars hon!

  • I like mine soggy better with like six cans of chili on them so I'll have to eat it with a spoon. I'm kidding of course. lol Looks perfect the way you have it here, this looks very good too..I wanna make some of these now..

  • Betty, that recipe also would go great on game day or for the super bowl snack. . Although like you mentioned when cooking the fries in oil your better off defrosting them first so you don't have the splatter of the oil when the ice crystals hit the hot oil. Talk about a mess to clean up...lol but it sure is a simple and easy recipe idea for a simple snack or for a a quick party or game day idea. Thanks for another great and simple recipe video............Steve.:))

  • I noticed you used Kroger brand canned chili. Do you have another favorite brand of chili that you would suggest or is store brand just as good?

  • I don't have a brand name chili that I like better than another. I really do like the Kroger chili!

    --Betty :)

  • Haha I love you-you always put a smile on my face!

    xoxo Beth

  • Thanks for this recipe. Love your hair in this video!

  • I know how to make this dish healthier: chopped onions and bacon! Yummy. Another to die for dish, Betty! Thanks for posting.

  • you look so pretty in this video! and the fries look sooo yummy. i'm gonna have to make those!

  • My oldest son will love these!

  • Betty everytime I watch your videos I get so happy. Your always positive and your voice is too sweet lol. Love the recipes, keep them coming!

  • Yum. I make similar to this quite regularly. Do you ever make disco fries/chips-cheese-n-gravy?

  • I'm not familiar with disco fries/chips-cheese-n-gravy. Sounds wonderful!

    --Betty :)

  • Disco fries are a Canadian dish. 'Though they're quite popular here in Australia. They are amazing.

  • @itsageoffrushthing don't you mean poutine?

  • disco fries is just the slang name for poutine.

  • Betty, your unofficial slogan is "I think you're gonna' like it." lol

I don't know if you notice yourself saying it, But you always do! And I love it! :D

  • That should be her video intro! It's great!

  • Hrm..,nice idea. I don't think I'd do this with fries, though. I think I'd dice up some potatoes and fry them up to put on the bottom. would just be easier to eat, IMO. The flavors sound really good, though.

  • yummmmm im making these for sure
