So did you cut the part where he responded to the traffic call and said the traffic was in sight? Stop spreading your smut - this isn't a deal - nice try though...
@CathayGuy It's painfully obvious that your idea of a loss of separation is different from what the 7110.65 says. We re-sequence people all the time because pilot's occasionally mess up the flow. Re-sequencing because of a potential conflict and an actual conflict are two completely different things. You seem to have edited out key points in this as a previous poster would attest to. Give up? To a little bitch who probably works at denny's and not in the aviation industry - get fucked.
@goodgamejackass cool story bro. nope I don't work at denny's nor in the aviation industry. I'm just an enthusiast. Hopefully that's not against what the 7110.65 says.
@CathayGuy All I'm saying, "Bro," is that your ignorance far exceeds your ability to comprehend the nature of that situation; it's hear-say and wrongful analysis, like this, from the ignorant, like you, that some incidents get blown out of proportion. This wasn't a near miss plain and simple.
@goodgamejackass I don't know why you are still arguing. Top rated comment (who claims to be the controller) says the Galaxy did get a little too close. When a plane gets a little to close to another plane, obviously a loss of separation is occurring. I get a little annoyed with people like yourself who lack integrity. So final verdict loss of separation at KDEN on 2/26/11. Have a good one.
After listening to this, I'm not convinced that vertical separation was ever lost. The Galaxy was descending through 7,700 feet, then after a jump cut, the Airbus was broken out and climbed to 9,000 feet. When you're on the road, do you ever consider the cars on the overpass as you drive underneath? No? ATC is a 3-dimentional game, and people who can't wrap their minds around this have no business armchair quarterbacking what we do. Ever. Yet here we are.
How funny! A buddy of mine told me to search this, and low and behold who do I hear but.....Me. I remember this final the Galaxy (GALX not a C5), did indeed get a little too close. He actually tried to cross 2 finals, and land on 17R, but was cleared for 16R. Thanks for the complement.
@finnicky7 That is just awesome that you were the controller. Must have been a stressful morning but, you handled the situation in a profesional fashion. Thanks for your comment.
@323tilm It's never visible, listen to the ATC, IRS in front and below the flight path if this aircraft. There was never any real danger here- the control never asked for immediate action.
it wasn't anything imminent or the controller would've used the term "immediate" we only say that word when a collision is imminent, & this controller never said that word or the word expedite so I'm sure you were fine. Also while traffic was only 1.5 miles away, he probably wasn't at the same altitude, you need 1,000 ft. vertical separation and if you have that it doesn't matter how close laterally a plane is, the galaxy pry just was in the way for the united to continue its decent on approach
@pricelessppp United Airlines carries the live atc of the flights so all you need is headphones you can plug them in, switch to channel 9 and listen to some ATC.
zzzzzzzzzz what a snooze fest

Very cool. I like how you can hear the autopilot disconnect as the pilot breaks off the approach.

The title of this video needs to be changed, there was no 'close collision' in this footage. A loss of separation, yes, but no collision.

@stefantheicewarrior I think I will keep the original title for now. I will consider revising in the future.
Thank you
