The end of one track mixes into the beginning of another so you don't get the 3 minute boring beat at the beginning that you were talking about. If you listen to this kind of music a lot (unless you are listening to a continuous DJ mix) you quickly learn to skip the first couple minutes of a song. It's usually just filler to give the DJ enough time to mix the tracks...
