the ones used in paintball tournaments use CO2 cartridges to push the paint out, not explosives. this just seems to be a different design.

no sup boy. no where near enough ordinance to blow off your legs. might give you a few burns and a butterfly effect bruise to your calves, but other than that, your fine.
