Well if the batteries inside are sanyo, then they're garbage. I bought a battery pack about 2 years ago and now it will not hold a charge at all. Dies after 30 seconds. On the other hand, I have about 15 energizer rechargeable batteries that have lasted me about 6 or 7 years and I don't have to charge them for 3 months (I use my xbox daily).
@roberth214 i had the same problem on 4 battery packs all oFFICIAIl M$ ones removed the sanyo batteries stuck them in a standalone charger and they charge fine and work fine i think the M$ packs have components inside that simply break/die after a period of time
Thanks - I was curious! That's refreshingly user friendly (once you've got it open) I feared they were going to be some anonymous looking lithium things.
Sanyo is one of the top manufacturers of dry cell batteries worldwide and are definitely not the cheapest (lowest quality) brand of batteries one can purchase.
Well, I might as well take mine apart and charge the batteries "manually" and use them. If you ever see sales on Duracell/Energize (whatever top battery brand) recharagable batteries, get them! Much better than these BS M$ toys.
please answer asap... i have a rechargable pack but the clip broke if i take the batteries out will i still be able to charge it and use it ? without using pack like if i use it like regular batteries ***
Is it possible to swap the external casing of the battery packs? I'm getting custom controllers but the included packs are for replaceable batteries and I want chargeable; but I don't want my controllers to look ugly XD
Do not buy these plug and play charge kits from Microsoft! They suck horribly! I went out and bought a set of 4 Engergizer NiMH batteries that are 2450 mAh and they are way better and cost less. Just use the empty AA battery holder the controller comes with originally.
wow... 15$ for the cheapest battery's of all time just go get some rechargeable battery's from shoppers or future shop for 10$ then you can use them with any thing and u don't have to buy a cord to recharge
hha i didnt need to do this on purpose my battery pack was loose so i duck taped it and when the battery dies out i went to change it so when i riped of the tape all the pieces of my battery pack flew every were so now i just super glued it problem fixed haha i though i was screwed
@Ecmslee the back of my xbox 360 controller came off with the batteries and the little button thing..could you make a video showing how you put it bacck together
There is none they all fucking suck. I have been through about 8, and not ONE charged correctly. The batteries sit on shelves for months and lost their charge.
Actually, the battery pack claims to have about 5 hours. I have two sets of 2450 mAh rechargeable Energizer batteries and, for some reason, a set of 2500 mAh batteries. Even the 2450's last longer than 5 hours, so yeah. The more mAh's the better.
If you use the official chargers (i.e. quick charge or play and charge kit) the batteries 'should not' overcharge. That said, the quick charger is better for/easier on the batteries. I do not know of any way to reset the pack if it stops functioning.
for the battery packs that have circuit boards in them. you can just remove the metal contacts and place in AA battery charger, they work with the stock 360 battery pack like regular batteries

If this video is not a fake, and the battery is really 2 NiMH AA's, then microsoft are motherfucking liars.
On their site they say its not recommended to use rechargeable AA's for "performance reasons".
Sanyo are pretty good batteries but microsoft are bitches for trying to get even more money from you.
