Diana was a very gifted singer, but so were the other girls. The difference between Diana, Mary, Florence, and Cindy is that Diana was the only one willing to pay the price to be a superstar---the others only wanted it on their own terms. But who gives a shit? Why can't people like you who only appreciate Diana just shut up and enjoy the music of all of them?

@TheReturnOfBigBear In all seriousness, I am a big fan of Diana Ross, but only as a Supreme. I understand exactly why she was made lead singer---she had the pop appeal. Florence was too strong of a singer for "Where Did Our Love Go" and "Baby Love." And Mary's voice was too deep to sing most of those pop songs. Cindy was gorgeous and sweet, but lacked star appeal---which Diana Ross had a lot of.

After one lead singer of a group places five consecutive number one records in a row, why switch it? But there is a difference between you and me. I appreciate the group sound, you only appreciate Diana's, which is fine. Well WayDowm, Hate to Disappoint, but if you look at the Numbers & go back & do some Homework, An Attendance of 5,000 was the Beak Even Point , for The Show, EVERY PERFORMANCE given made Money, It was cancelled because the next 2 Scheduled Dates hadn't hit the Break Even Point, So the RTL actually made money, Miss Mary lost 4 Million Dollars & because she convinced Cindy to let "Her People" Negotiate for Both of them, Miss Cindy lost a Comfortable Retirement, Happy?,

Bob took me to see Diana in Las Vegas. The show was entertaining but not anywhere close to Sarah Brightman, Celine or even Cher's Live Shows.

Diana's shows are always far too much about only her where the other's I mentioned put on huge Production Numbers involving so many others.

Diana is more of what you find in a Lounge Show where the singer just stands & sings rather then in a big Concert Tour Show Production. She's a great singer though.

diana is completely fabulous, but.. both céline and cher have sold more albums than diana, so i don't think it's accurate to say she is the biggest star. she's certainly way bigger than sarah, though.

@lonn67 unlike Celion diana sold her records primarly without MTV, Video, VH1 Itunes, and the worldwide distribtution markett that celion started with.. diana did it the old fashioned way so should not be compared to people who have had these advantages.. none the less she is a much bigger star than either celion or cher.
