I have been listend to el mocambo version the other day and I was stuned by one riff! I tried to learn it but did`nt go to far, then decided to search for tabs and that lead me to this lesson. I just can`t believe that I was amazed by the same riff as you! It`s such a perfect timing for that lick, srv is great!!
love your videos man andyour playing. i even bought the nos blues junior cuz ur shootout video. it has a terrible crackle though needs some repair :( bummer
When you mentioned you never heard him play this lick before or since I'm reminded of what Jimmy Ray Vaughan said:"Stevie never played a song the same way once, never mind twice"
I had never really payed that close attention to those riffs as I always do my own interpretation of that stuff but your lesson was really cool,it's nice to see the actual walkdown true to the original, also you play a helluva blues style but I think it might be more effective if you could back off a little on the O.D. Really nice stuff though,I appreciate it!!!!
You and diggity 6470 smoke on the SRV stuff...Wow!...Man between the 2 of you, you have filled in a great many pieces of the SRV puzzle....Totally Awesome!....I commend you.
I really like your style and the fact that you appreciate just how frustrating trying to learn this stuff on your own can really be. Many many thanks and my hat's off to you dude! Great stuff.
I was just thinking about doing a lesson on that riff the other day... That's a great one because it demonstrates doing some of the same riffs I've already taught, but using open strings at fret 0. I'll do that one after the Texas flood one from 1957fenderstrat.
very cool. theres another fast lick he does in el mocambo that hes only played one time. its about from 1:33 to 1:41 somewhere in there. Maybe you could do that one. thanks keep em comin!
I reviewed that riff this weekend and realized that I had always been playing part of it wrong, so you'll get an even better lesson than I planned. Should get that done sometime this week.
great lesson!
