  • I hear influences such as Yngwie, Becker and Guthrie, you can't go wrong with that ! Awesome performance !

  • 2:07 Brutal-diminished-apreggios face.

  • hes amazing and how he really never use his pinky i always try to really rock with my pinky but who cares if i could do this without my pinky i wouldn't care but you should always rock the oinky

  • @guitarzzzz1 pinky

  • 0:46 Thunderstruck?

  • MY FUCKING GOD......... no words can describe this guy's skillzzz

  • i know they arent a 'shreddy' band, but some of this stuff reminds me of Parkway Drive, especially the album Horizons. soooo good!

  • Is that a fucking LTD H-1007 with an ebony board!?!? wtf?

    Is it just "ebonized" rosewood?

  • My god what a TONE!!! :D What kind of distortion he's using? :O

  • 1:24 - 1:46 is actually the best part. Rest is technically outrageous, gotta give m that but it kinda bores me :\

  • @BvdLNL Taste, my friend. But I love it all...

  • love the playing and the tone!!!!

  • what amazes me is that people can dislike this and still sleep at night!

  • @carkorot Ahhh! funny. Or maybe they were like " Holy cow this guy is badass" then stumbled over their keyboard anxiously clicking away with the mouse trying to hit the like button,,, and oops!,,, hit the dislike. We'll forgive them.

  • @jonjacquemoud1 yeah, we'll forgive them, but only this once!

  • There's definitely some Loomis licks in 'Ultimate Force'

  • fast, yet melodic, this guy is amazing

  • its only 20 bucks and it has tabs!

  • 0:23 Tapping From Hell !

  • Lovely guitar.

  • @rsivoo Its coming

  • @floevo Omg thanks andy for your reply, means so much for me been sending you messages for ever haha :)

  • @floevo I just went out and Bought the H-1007 w/floyd rose because I got to try yours out at Namm. It is an excellent guitar! Still trying to decide between the series one Blackstar or the Mesa mark V.

  • @bigpanos1 Awkward for this kinda thing for me personally, and im an ESP endorsee.

  • @bigpanos1 Because they are great guitars.

  • @floevo yes but gibson and other guitars are good too! i think he should try whith a gibson les paul once!

  • @floevo andy ur my god... im buying this right now, sounds so amazing.I hope someday you make a lesson for war march either in licklibrary or blue jam tracks. Thanks for everything!

  • What a monster player! Never cease to amaze me.

  • why he always use LTD guitars!?doesn't matter,he is awesome

  • i just quit the guitar

  • Are you using a Blackstar amp in this video?

  • @ModernBrutality666 Sacred Mother Tongue :)

  • 0:47 palhetar é para os fracos né.. kkk

  • Ultra high level! Out of this world!

  • I can't decide who I like more , Andy James or Guthrie Govan

  • @dboyzumik1 Ha Ha, why inflict the self agony of comparing in the first place :P

  • my favorite guitarist!!!! yeahhhh!!!!

  • I cant believe there is a man that exists who can play guitar like this!!!!....I Thank God everyday for the level that guitar has reached...

  • some of the tapping licks are so fucking insane, and he shreds so deep through his triplets, picking every note thickly. great tone and feel. really digging this.

  • Really cool.

  • Oh fuck this, I quit :/

  • @MilitantOldLady ......I agree!!!!

  • @MilitantOldLady ..lol... It should inspire you to play and get better , it doesnt happen over night like we wish ,lol keep shredding ... Metal!!!

  • @robvk6

I know, I know. I've been playing for over 10 years now, not just guitar. One thing i noticed very quickly is that im not good at fast leads... :/

  • @MilitantOldLady practice, practice, practice, you will get there if you want to ..

  • @robvk6

thats the point, im not sure i want to...i like rhythmical playing more...riffs and grooves...not too keen on inundating a song with lead playing

  • @MilitantOldLady Thats cool , just have fun with it and your golden!!!

  • Wow! This is nothing short of amazing.

  • not a good song with a good melody.. song composition is bad even his skills are remarkable..

  • @childrenofkoris

It's meant to showcase lead playing, it isn't a song.

  • so clean and tasty! This dude is amazing!

  • I had to watch this twice, it didnt sink in the first time,

  • Wow, probably the most melodic and interesting tapping ideas I've heard. He builds up with all this drama then WHAM! hits you with the tapping. Super clean and fast picking and legato. Most metal players just shred, but this guy develops the solo like a classical musician keeping you on the edge of your seat. The new breed of metal player.

  • @jonjacquemoud1 Nicely put my friend.

  • Amazing technique!

  • @DeathMagnetik 9-42 low B 60 d'addarios

  • @floevo I'm really looking forward to getting this Andy!

  • What gauge strings in this video?

  • whats he using for his tone? I'm guessing axe-fx

  • @young0wylde0child

He was using a Marshall JCM800 with a Ibanez Tube screamer inbetween. Cornford 1 X 12 Cab loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30

  • Mother of God

  • Dude, I just put that on my ipod!

  • My Dick Is Hard from this....

  • damn, i have no words for this

  • Holy fuck.

  • Guthrie's Heavy Metal twin !

  • PHENOMINAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • are these songs on his upcoming album or something? like the beginning of the breaking through song with the harmonics is so sick I freakin want it!

  • ASSKICKING player ..... he is extremely clean & fast .....crazy skills......& awesome melodies

  • this guy is the best

  • 7 dislikes?! i though there were more dubstep fans than that? ...

  • do these videos show u how to play it or what?

  • WTF? 7 Dislikes? So 7 guys don't think this guy is any good? Morons. Perhaps they didn't get past the stupid Heineken advert that insists on playing before I can watch this legend.

  • Can't wait for this, when is the exact release date?!

  • looks like he dyed the rosewood fretboard black to look ebony .. pretty common nowadays..

  • Whats this strings ?

  • Dear Andy, appreciate all your videos on YouTube and really like what and how you play your licks and songs. You are my absolute # 1 favorite when it comes to shredding. Everything looks easy what you do but i know it is hard work. Please continue to put your videos.

  • @Shredmastakaos This was LTD H-1007 into a ibanez tubescreamer into a JCM 800 Marshall. Thats it. The band does not work in that position as it needs to be around the 4th fret to work as the neck slightly widens in turn clamping the strings. There are open strings being played in this video.

  • 0:47 THUNDERSTRUCK! XD

  • Incredible stuff!

He's soooo clean and ridiculously fast.

  • This man is just awesome. Right up there with govan.

  • @Hielkenator you're so right man, I know its a matter of opinion but Govan would be the first on my list and Andy would be second by just a bit. Not forgeting Vai, Gilbert, Malmsteem, Batio, Howe, Satriani, Petrucci, Johnson, Buckethead and about 1000 more. Andy James and Guthrie Govan are masters of just abou any style

  • @Hielkenator very true!!

  • @Hielkenator i think hes better at shredding with melody than govan

  • @Hielkenator high praise indeed, but I completely agree, there just such flashes of brilliance in his playing.

  • I thought I could solo, but then I took an Andy James to the knee!

  • I underestimated him to greatly...

  • INCREDIBLE

  • new tattoo!

  • @ABadHorsie he plays just as clean with or without

  • very clean. i think that he sleep with guitar

  • Ok I've got the first three notes to this down.. success!

  • This guy is clean as hell wow.

  • This guy is very, very skilled! I'm no trying to take anything away from him, but I'm truly curious how clean he gets it without the string dampener. I could care less if he uses it or not, but it would be interesting to see.

  • @ABadHorsie It's on the first fret. See the black band? I'd say there is loads of effects that he runs to help it keep so clean. It would be a different story if he just plugged direct into an amp and shredded :) This dude should be part of the next G3...

  • @ABadHorsie I've wondered that also, and many players are using them now. Now I'm starting to think it's the evolution of the instrument. Keyboard and horn players are lucky, if they let go everything stops. At first I didn't like the dampener, but now I realize these players are pushing the envelope and need tools. Of course we use right hand palm and left hand index finger muting techniques, but it's almost like guitar has an inherent design flaw with the open strings.

  • @ABadHorsie When playing, moving, tapping, picking etc it vibrates all strings (impossible for it not to) so when Andy is using this much gain, any interference of string buzz will diminish his tone. It's only solved by the dampener, no amount of practice can stop it.

  • Amazing, the tone, the choice of notes, that's what most shredders lack, and you have it. You are an amazing player Andy

  • that guitar is going to have little babies after he raped shit out of her

  • ...remind me of JP but still, there's something really fresh. Rock on

  • He rape the shit out of that guitar...

  • awesome man \m/

  • I LOVE his first killer lick... It's so.... killer...

  • 2:38 ... he wrote that song about his penis

  • Hey Andy, i'm an older guy but i think you are probably the best guitarist of this era..

Love your music mate ;) So creative, melodic, and your technique is.. what can i say?

    I'm speechless

  • Those ascending runs at the start are flawless, it sounds like he's picking everything but he clearly isn't. Insanity.

  • @1madaboutguitar: Note I said early JP, but a lot of his late stuff contains emotional stuff as well. Anyways, solos like the one in Voices, Lines in the sand, Another Day, Take away my pain and so many others are very soulful.

  • Watching AJ reminds me of the joy of watching early John Petrucci, a player who perfectly combined soulful phrasing with fire and passion. AJ is here to claim the throne and as of today, I think he deserves it!

  • @TheLinuxExperience Petrucci bores the shit out of me. Dont see much soul with that guy at all, more like a robot. Andy James has it all... and some!!

  • A great pleasure to watch this, for me.

  • A NEW LEGEND...

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!! Jizz-FUCKIN-Tastic

  • fuck, i love utube!

  • Wow............. You Rock Some licks sounds like Joe Satraini Solo ,,,,,,,Great work

  • That is wonderful Music that you created. WOW------------Nice work

  • every single note is so clear

    just awesome

  • this is the best tone he has ever had!

  • Andy James is our Hero omg ! ! !

  • 0:24

id rather be able to do that then to fuck scarlett johanson

  • @FamGuitarist if you can play like that you can fuck her too xD chicks dig the shred lol

  • @FamGuitarist Because let's face it, if you were able to do that, you'd fuck any girl you'd want!

  • @FamGuitarist Nah, you can practice that alot and get it down (not saying I'm going to) but fucking Scarlett isn't going to happen by trying hard.

  • @FamGuitarist that's one of the easier things he plays :P Learn the intro to steve vai's building the church, it's the same concept, actually pretty simple

  • @FamGuitarist if you were able to do that you could do both lol xDDDDD

  • @FamGuitarist So you mean after being able to play that you would want to fuck Johanson?

  • to cool for school...

  • He`s a fucking master ¡¡¡

  • powerful!!

  • incredible, loved the double tapping bit right at the start

  • its about time

  • This is how shred is SUPPOSED to sound.

  • Sick. To have a fraction of Andy's talent would be a blessing.

  • Really nice to meet you at the 2012 NAMM show last weekend. your playing is awesome...

  • Sounds like Petrucci for me.

  • @LudwingAndolini . He is way better than petrucci....He can nail petrucci's ass ANYTIME.

  • @tornado600rr Haha I would love the see it, anyway it's Petrucci's style. It's not just about playing lighting fast, It's about develop your own style. Don't get mad mate, I like them both haha, he's amazing too.

  • insane!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • He is Number1 SHREDDER right now *********** DOPE DOPE DOPE

  • @tornado600rr YEAH MAN, i'm a big guthrie/fusion head but..hats off to andy man he is like one of if not the most unsung guitar greats on the planet. i think technically he is just untouchable, he's got the speed and accuracy of gilbert and he is an extremely accomplished musician...he is no doubt one of the WORLD'S BEST AXEMEN...i'm not big into metal anymore but there is no denying this greatness..guys get all worked up if u say something sideways about kerry, scott,&them guys cmon andy is king

  • you are best. But i think you must play Jackson guitar.

  • Is that an ltd deluxe h-1007?

  • Guys like Andy are amazing. Why anyone still thinks Eddie Van Halen is a great guitarist is beyond me. EVH was great for his time and is pivotal in the history of guitar playing evolution, but guys like Vai and James have taken it up to the next level. EVH got worse with time.

  • just fucking amazing

  • i just came

  • I feel like I could play some of that...but it's just the fact he looks so chill while he's doing it all. Like it's nothing at all

  • Loving your finger work Andy.

  • WOW!

  • Thunderstruck !

  • GREAT!

  • get angel vivaldi to do one of these!

  • Amazing.

  • poopcat

  • dam this guy is one of the best i've seen fin a long time.

  • BADASS

  • This guy is a beat. I'm usually not into shredders and the such, but andy has style.

  • @ElectricTurkey1 agreed style is the word

  • i just realized that i am not that good at playing guitar

  • @najtrows You know I was just thinking the same thing about myself lol...

  • @najtrows And it's that kind of realization that makes us strive to play better. I bet Andy thought that same thing while he was watching JP or Gilbert on YT, and he decided to get better.
